I just went to VGChartz and spotted this thread.
Obviously, these guys believe that The Conduit can shatter Halo 3's opening record to become the fastest-selling exclusive console first-person shooter of all time.
What are your thoughts on this?

And obviously you didn't read your own link.
Almost every one of the replies say that The Conduit won't break Halo 3's record :?
i played the conduit at comic con a few months ago it is nothing realy special. YEah its a great game for wii but its not as good as cal of duty 4 or halo 3.EmperorZeruel
that sounds great. unfortuneately, this thread is about sales not quality. and we all know that even if Nintendo games suck, they sell
Not enough people know about the conduit so no. If anything will break the record Halo 3 (not fps in general) put it will have to be something like *shudder* the Sims 3 or Call of Duty 6.
Maybe it would have if called Wiiconduit..... kiddingHarlockJCNarr " Wii Conduit Fun Party : also keeps you fit and walks your dog eddition" would SELL.
and we all know that even if Nintendo games suck, they sellHistoricalSDThis is not a Nintendo game... And most of Nintendo best sellers are actually excellent games.

The sims 3 no chance. the sims 3 is casual, it opens with relatively good sales and continues to stay on chart for months and years in order to build up some groundbreaking sales. in order to smash this record, it will need to sell over 4 million, not going to happen.

it isn't? oh yeah lol i always forget microsoft created Wii, silly me. probably going to forget it by morning too. anyway, my bad
Persaonlly its my least hyped game of the decade, it looks god aweful when compared to msot other modern shooters and even some last generation FPS games. thegoldenpooWhy do you even bother posting, everyone knows you hate the game and nobody cares.
And most of Nintendo best sellers are actually excellent games.IronBassI'd say that's true simply because Nintendo has released more traditional Ninty franchises opposed to the Wii garbage. Take for example Wii Music, Wii Fit, and Wii Play. They have sold really, really well... yet could probably be mistaken as tech demos.

The Sims franchise, depending on whether you factor in every Sims game ever made, is the best selling franchise of all time. If not, it is second to only Mario. The Halo franchise is a Sims piece of sh*t next to the Sims Franchise.it isn't? oh yeah lol i always forget microsoft created Wii, silly me. probably going to forget it by morning too. anyway, my badHistoricalSD
Normally, we use the expression "a-x-company game" for a game developed by "x-dev", not for "x-console".
This game is not made by Nintendo, that's why I misunderstood what you meant.
But since you already apologied, it's all good.

anyway, yes, after Mario and Pokémon, sims is hugest franchise, you're correct
You do realise you are practially forfiting a generation with just owning a Wii right? :|No*
*That's coming for a Nintendo-Only gamer and someone who's picking up The Conduit...

He's certainly missing out on alot, but he'll do just fine with just a Wii if he decides to do so. Its a great system with a damn good library ;)
VGChartz is run by Wii fanboys What do you expect?FirstDiscovery
Actually not. Most VGChartz members/staff are Sony fans.
To the above few posters, the head-honchos are mostly Wii fanboys.FirstDiscoveryAnd you think that because... ?

something tells me he's a jealous Sony fan having hard to accept the fact that VGChartz ranks Wii number 1 console in sales this gen...
This is a commonly known fact FirstDiscoveryYour answer to my is: "because it's a well known fact"? I'm not a fan of circular logic. That does not answer my question.
And even then, just read some of their positive Wii head lines, its worse than Fox News:?FirstDiscoveryThe Wii is a money maker, it just logical that in a site focused on sales the headlines would be positive.
Halo3 marketing alone cost them 2x the Conduit. They could spray the Conduit on everyones houses. Then the people will be like 'wtf is the Conduit?' and it still won't sell as much.
Even the most optimistic Conduit fanboy couldn't possibly think Conduit could outsell Halo.
Halo is the mass-market, heavily advertised, casual shooter that everyone knows about (heck, it's on 7eleven cups and mountain dew).
do people outside of the internet even know about the conduit? >_>Sonick54
Obviosuly, why would otherwsie people think that it can outsell a big game?

Those people you speak of are the same people you only know about because they are on the internet. The Wii is a money maker, it just logical that in a site focused on sales the headlines would be positive. IronBassNo im not even talking about REPORTING, im talking about the way they do it. Again, its like Fox News report on why Bush was so great, i mean if i wanted to hear why, then the last place id listen to is Fox News.

I've never looked it that way, and, from what I've seen in this thread, not much people have.
