Halo 3 had a massive fan base waiting earger to buy the game and for many the sole reason they bought a 360. how could anyone think for a moment a Wii games first entry would beat it? I think the game will do well and may buy it myself but helz no it ill beat Halo 3 sales wisecreativeminded
good post, I agree with that. but it's almost discussed around internet
:? Thats like saying you want to somehow divide by 0.
PSGamerforlife
yup, except you can't divide anything by 0.
almost 2 million americans pre-ordered it from retailers before launchHistoricalSD
That's the first I heard that. Do you have a link to that statistic?
I'ma sheep and I would be surprised if this game sells a million by the end of the year. I think it will be a good game, but I bet it sells no more than double what MadWorld sold the first year. I hope I'm wrong.
Either way, I believe this game is an investment for future game development for Wii by High Voltage. This will be an excellent game to build off of for future games by the company and I bet there will be some excellent FPS gamesby them for Wii 2.
Halo killer? Please. Halo has a history and reputation. Conduit isn't really offering anything new to the table that no other system hasn't done before; only things new to Wii owners.
It'll be a good game, but nothing beyond that. MAYBE all the varieties of On-Line play will get good word of mouth and possibly build some momentum there, but we'll see.
[QUOTE="HarlockJC"]Maybe it would have if called Wiiconduit..... kiddingstarmetroidOr Wii shoot   With that name and Nintendo's marketing, it would be the best selling shooter of all time.
I really gotta ask why this game has gotten so much attention...Verge_6I think it was just lucky to always have something to be in the press about.
As I remember it, first it was the announcement of a revolutionary new way to do graphics on Wii.
Then they couldn't find a publisher, so there was some mystery and speculation there.
Then they talked about how customizable the controls were, more than any other game.
Then the announcement of getting a publisher tagged with their multiplayer options.
And it seems they always had a reviewer for their demonstrations.
They were able to keep momentum of interest with really nothing that revolutionary.

No*
*That's coming for a Nintendo-Only gamer and someone who's picking up The Conduit...
You do realise you are practially forfiting a generation with just owning a Wii right? :| in your opinion. maybe that's what the poster prefers. there's certainly nothing wrong with that. he may be missing out on some great titles, Nintendo also has some great offerings that one would miss out on if they didn't own a Wii.[QUOTE="HistoricalSD"]almost 2 million americans pre-ordered it from retailers before launchflazzle

Yes. It simply means people have faith in Conduit as a FPS.
Indeed. I only own a Wii but to think The Conduit will surpass Halo 3 is crazy and if by some miracle it actually does then it is only because there is such a lack of really great titles on Wii that everyone is thinking about getting this just as a matter of default.no.
Whoever thinks so is delusional.
Haziqonfire
I don't see any The Conduit Mountain Dew drinks now do I?
Do I?
SpinoRaptor24
if you think about it, a game doesn't have to have drinks in order to outsell another. that's not entirely logical
He was making a reference to Halo 3's huge marketing campaign. Reading between lines FTW.[QUOTE="IronBass"][QUOTE="HistoricalSD"]

Yeah, I could have figured that by himself smartass, I was just making a much more logical statement
Historical, it's not just the drinks. They aren't showing up on the cereal boxes either. Half the world had to know Halo to make it sell what it did, how could the Conduit surpass it if it isn't on the drinks, nor the cereal?[QUOTE="HistoricalSD"][QUOTE="IronBass"] He was making a reference to Halo 3's huge marketing campaign. Dude, if Madworld sold poorly on the Wii, what makes you think The Conduit will do any better?

The Conduit is an anticipated FPS on the bestlse--lling Wii console that will show the true technical graphics of the Wii.
comon sense people , Sega is barely spending carefully a small budget.Microsoft spent more just in advertising than HV and Sega have spent in the whole game production and advertising, Halo 3 is a sequel of a long timed franchise. Wii does have a huge gamer market(and a wifit crowd which is unlikely to count here), i mean, look at mario kart sales(17 million and still selling duper strong, thats ridiculous). But the point is, no, not without promotion , nor brand recognition. Its gonna do alright, its preorders reported already to be very good, but Halo 3 was MS killers ap and had all that gigantic marketting muscle behind it..
PS: raptor, Madworld is a niche title, a brawler.Brawlers dont sell too good in ANY Console(see how much terribly worse did gods hand on the ps2), and still broke 200k so far being a black and white mature game without online modes. The conduit is teen, more hyped, a more popular genre(fps),on a fps starved console who bought over a million of a bad shooter called red steel that didnt even have online.
motion controls work well for fps shooters. but no. i hate halo but it revolutionized console fps games. because of that it has a huge fanbase. and the conduit has a pretty lame style.
[QUOTE="HistoricalSD"]and we all know that even if Nintendo games suck, they sellIronBassThis is not a Nintendo game... And most of Nintendo best sellers are actually excellent games. Horray for Wii-fit!

247 (myself included) voted no it will not, i laughed so hard reading the results

I laughed when I saw that over 40 people actually believed The Conduit could outself Halo 3 lol.
