The Witcher 2 is about great story, atmosphere and art style. Anyone who concentrates on graphics too much just misses the point.

CD Projekt did a marvelous job while porting from a new PC hardware to the old XBOX hardware.

I wouldn't blame you for supporting CDP, though we get it as a free upgrade.

And all future content on PC, of course, which is at odds with M$' policy for Xbox ...

They are the best dev out there right now.

But I hope when they make The witcher 3 and it's multiplat that they don't lose their way. I don't want them to neglect the PC like Crytek have done just to focus on making more money and I also don't want them to charge for DLC. They are my favourite devs now and it would be a shame to see them change in the future

LOL, the new hope is ONCE AGAIN lost for the lemmings. Let's see, we had Alan wake, Halo Reach, Crysis 2 all going for best console graphics but all failed to do so, now this joins the long and sad history of lemming's foolish pipe dream. Yep, guess what all those games all have in common, low res textures, bad case of pop ins, frame rate issues and last but not the least, SUB HD resolution. gpuking

Crysis 2 actually won the best console graphics. This thread is full of cow damage control, pixel counting just because you're jelly Witcher 2 is not on PS3.

Calm down buddy. Both consoles have subHD games. Halo Reach, Alan Wake and The Witcher 2 on 360, and MGS4, Resiatance 3 and Red Dead Redemption on PS3. On the other hand, both consoles already proved to be capable of handling beautiful games in HD like Uncharted 3, God of War 3, Gears of War 3, Forza 4, etc....

Just accept both consoles are good and capable. Being so buthurt is not healthy :P

Wow its got freaking less pixels than other games, so it's automatically crap? For heaven sake, this game is running on a freaking SEVEN year old console. And the fact that screen tearing, framerate stutters and pop-in is all fixed with an install makes it even more jaw dropping. Lems need to stop acting butthurt and cows need to learn that the ps3 will get it later if at all.

Those graphics awards mean very little other than the fact that UC3 has excellent art style and a big following in the gaming community (which it deserves). From a technical standpoint most PC games in 2011 unquestionably stomped all over UC3 visually. When Crysis 2 released on consoles it was awarded here on SW the best console graphics crown, the only chink in its armour was because the PS3 version was slightly inferior numerous Cows refused to acknowledge the technical merit of Crysis 2 and claimed that Killzone and UC were superior, had it been the other way around the tune would have been very different. Now you can claim UC3 looks better than Crysis 2 and it certainly runs a lot smoother but in terms of graphics from the top Xbox 360 games such as Gears of War 3, Forza 4, Crysis 2 and Witcher 2 stand shoulder to shoulder with the best the PS3 has to offer. This is what brings us back to the origins of this thread, The Xbox 360 for so long derided by Cows as the inferior console graphically has delivered another amazing looking game. This is why we have the pixel counting for damage control.

Looks like CD Projekt did a good job for Xbox 360 and PC (W2 EE).

11 GB patch is like a new game download...

It's full of HD cut scenes. The new content probably only takes 4 or 5 GB.

Those graphics awards mean very little other than the fact that UC3 has excellent art style and a big following in the gaming community (which it deserves). From a technical standpoint most PC games in 2011 unquestionably stomped all over UC3 visually. When Crysis 2 released on consoles it was awarded here on SW the best console graphics crown, the only chink in its armour was because the PS3 version was slightly inferior numerous Cows refused to acknowledge the technical merit of Crysis 2 and claimed that Killzone and UC were superior, had it been the other way around the tune would have been very different. Now you can claim UC3 looks better than Crysis 2 and it certainly runs a lot smoother but in terms of graphics from the top Xbox 360 games such as Gears of War 3, Forza 4, Crysis 2 and Witcher 2 stand shoulder to shoulder with the best the PS3 has to offer. This is what brings us back to the origins of this thread, The Xbox 360 for so long derided by Cows as the inferior console graphically has delivered another amazing looking game. This is why we have the pixel counting for damage control.

visually Crysis 2 and UC3 are on par with each other on console. On PC however Crysis 2 destroys UC3 which begs the question, why do you put so much faith in these awards? UC3 looks ancient compared to anything on PC which clearly shows that the awards mean very little regarding technical merit. Forza didn't win any graphics awards but it's probably the best looking racer out there on console, counting PC of course it can't really compete. I've played UC3 several times and i's a fine looking game, excellent colours and animations etc but it doesn't look any better than Gears 3 or Crysis 2. They are on par with each other. Art style is subjective. heck super mario galaxy looks better than loads of games today but technically it's way behind. The fact that Witcher 2 is now being compared to UC3 is another sign that UC3 is not in a league of it's own. It's at the top of the class for sure (console wise) but there are other students right up there too. Sure it might be 672p or whatever but considering they've managed to get it running on 7 year old hardware and getting it to look so good is an amazing testament to the devs. Of course it doesn't hold up to the PC version running on a good system but it compares very well against the best that consoles have to offer.

Well it looks pretty damn good for running on a 7 year old console. I can guarantee that a 7 year old PC that hasn't been upgraded wouldn't be running it. This is coming from someone who had to upgrade the video card on my 3 year old PC just to run it. I still think what CD Projekt Red did is quite impressive with this port, even if it is technically a little under 720p.

lol Remember folks cows didn't claim that the ps3 version of ME2 was the definitive version, the first ME was s*** wasn't needed ps3 players got the comic book type choice thingy... cows forced it upon themselves, no one lemming said Witcher 1 was S*** wasn't needed...etc

I remember a few occasions where xbots AND ps3 gamers said TW1 was **** Whats even more hilarious is that i remember quite a few XBOTS saying that ThW2 was **** too till they realised it was coming to 360. :lol:

Very surprised it is sub HD. I was under the impression it was comparable to medium settings on the PC, minus some cool lighting tech. That....is not cool.

Most console games are not gonna compare to medium settings on a game designed on pc.

Yeah, it's just that PC gamers are the ones that told me this. As I said, it was suposed to be comparable to medium without the fancy lighting. Certainly higher than low settings. Jus a bit shocked it's not even 720p. It would look ghastly on my TV.

Lol I will eventually PC game and would get the PC version without a doubt if I had one. So my point still stands, gap between witcher 2 pc 360 is far smaller than most other ports.
