Xbox 360 ... Best myopia simulator ever. Or, I could just take my glasses off when playing games, for a similar result.

How do you work this native resolution out? 720 is the dimension of the image (the actual image file) by number of horizontal pixels? 15 is the number of pixels vertically in that little square you cut out? What's the 14 for?Anyone surprised?
What's the excuse now: "Bu bu bu - the PS3 was holding it back ?"
SubHDBox - CONFIRMED !
P.S. No save import - Witcher 2 FE (FAIL EDITION)
P.P.S. Enhanced Edition - free upgrade for PC owners. All future content also free; Xbox - not so lucky.

[QUOTE="heretrix"]I just looked at my display case and my copy is still there. Oh wait, you're stupid. Forget it then. You know darn well what I mean kid, your just mad that I don't have to spend 1000$ to play the witcher 2. i only payed $16 for my copy of witcher 2 and i get to play it maxed 1080p 60fps! plus itll go back on sale for $10 during the summer sales! so i dont know where your getiing $1000!? oh you mean hardware??? well in that case you payed at least $860 since you payed $300 for the 360, $500 for a good a hdtv and $60 for a subhd low fps and blurry version of the game[QUOTE="Supa_F_L_Y"]PC fanboys your just jelly that you spend 1000$ on your PC for you to lose your best game.Supa_F_L_Y

-Unreal-
14 is the number of rows before upscaling, which you can determine by the number of the stairs formed by the jaggies.
I might not be completely correct in the number, but I think it's somewhere in that range.

I counted that and I got 15. Regardless, wouldn't that number be different depending on what size of area you're counting in determined by that white box?It can, Alan Wake doesn't look good on a 42in. Bigger the TV bigger the problem. Im sorry but Alan Wake looks good on a 42in TV so please don't speak utter crap.[QUOTE="TheGuardian03"]Lol does it matter? game looks great.FIipMode

If it was 15 you wouldn't see such fading on top of the polygon - see how it gets more and more transparent.
Regardless, wouldn't that number be different depending on what size of area you're counting in determined by that white box?-Unreal-
It will be different but the proportion will always be equal to the ratio between rendering and upscaled resolution.
YES
PIXELS MATTER SO MUCH WHEN I'M PLAYING ON MY 40" 1080p PLASMA TV FROM 6 FEET AWAY FROM THE SCREEN!.
Seriously... pixel arguments are stupid. It's about the end result. If you have to pause the game and then take a sample of pixels from a plank in the game, you're missing the bigger picture.
It obviously looks great when you're playing in motion on a decent screen.

Ok I think my lack of maths skills is holding me back. A diagram would help I guess. I'm thinking 720 is the number of horizontal pixels in each row of the image output. 14 is the number of steps in that area that's selected in the white box. 15 is the number of pixels vertically in that box. ie. counting pixels from top to bottom. The problem is, I've tried this again with my own screenshots and it just doesn't work out.Well TC it shows how stupid you are if you expected it to have the same standard as todays PC. The 360 has the game, it is gorgeous, and playable. And accross the board every reviewer has ben impressed with it. So the only fail is your pathetic attempt to be cute.

From 6 feet on 40" display the difference is definitely visible. In fact, at that distance you get almost the full benefit of 1080p, as seen from the following chart.
I recommend this article: 1080p Does Matter
I don't think TC or anyone else expected it to have the same standards as PC, just the same standards as current gen console games. Being sub HD misses that mark. Doesn't mean the game is not stellar etc, but seriously, there is no excuse to have any game on PS3 or 360 being less than native 720p.Well TC it shows how stupid you are if you expected it to have the same standard as todays PC. Still great on the Xbox. Haters gonna hate, and cows will continue to be the most insecure fanboys of the bunch, and the laughing stock of System Wars.charizard1605
Seriously, I'm insecure? Even though you make threads daily, seeking approval about your favorite handheld, franchise, console, developer or company?
LOL, now I've seen it all - please, get a grip ...
hmm....seems to look great to me...seems that its not being released on ps3 as of yet....
WilliamRLBaker
Wow, really? I think you need your eyes checked.
[QUOTE="Eddie-Vedder"]wow your stupid.Wow the 360 is so bad. What a shame.
Play this game on the PC guys, it's the best RPG ever imo.
WilliamRLBaker
Dude, seriously?
If you have to work to pick it apart, i.e. pause and enlarge, something nobody does while playing a game, YOU ARE BUTTHURT THAT IT ISNT ON YOUR DEFENDED PLATFORM. I agree with WasdieYES

I didn't specifically call you insecure, I think you're an okay poster.[QUOTE="sts106mat"][QUOTE="shadiezz2012"]lol i didn't know that so ( Screen tearing / low res textures / textures slow loading/low frame rate .. and now a sub HD ) yeah it's an xbox360 game and who in the blue hell said that ps3 is holding back the xbox ???? it's the other way around and both are holding back pcshadiezz2012
installing fixes most of those problems, its confirmed. and a sub hd version lol. 672p>>>>>>>>>>>>0p which is the current res of the ps3 version.
this thread is nothing but damage control from butt hurt cows.
TRUE pc gamers will be happy that the 360 owners will help support the devs.
i'm a pc/ps3 owner dude i don't care about ps3 version i already own it on my pc with DX11 on ultra love every part about it So when did the DX11 version come out? My copy's only DX9.remember before Alan wake released and the "OMG im not buying now it's sub HD" boycotts that were supposed to happen? You are all acting crazy with this
It's not the first nor the last game to have this sort of issue. BUT the game still looks great even on the 360 and has a pretty solid Framerate too. Only looks rough when you take screens and analyse them too much or when compared with the Max PC settings. But when you sit down and just play it will look great in motion
Also lol at all the consolites that say "you herms and your graphics. Its story/gameplay/art that matters not higher resolutions and graphic options" then you go and actually count the pixels in a screenshot and debate that. At least the improvements on PC are pretty noticeable
^^Yah, why are people making a big deal out of it? The 360 version is even more cinematic than before confirmed. Dante2710
Because xbox 360 gets another huge game, one of the best games of all time and PS3 still has nothing in 2012 and is the laughstock of the gaming insdustry

Halo 4 (best shooter of all time)
Skyrim DLC
Fable
Mass Effect 3 KINECT eclusive edition
Witcher 2
Forza Horizon
etc etc
.
All the true 10/10 games are on 360
Looks okay to me. If I wanted to run the game with the highest possible settings, I'd have built a PC to do so. As it stands, I don't have the money for that but have a 360 that I can dust off and play this on.
If you play the game, pause it at a certain section and then proceed to individually count all the little pixels on a strip and then cry foul when you realise that a few are missing, you really, really need to get a grip on reality.
Maybe a breath of fresh air and some sun might do you some good.
I know this is the name and the game of System Wars but it's getting ridiculous. There are better things to waste our time arguing about.

It looks good on a 32, when I played it on a 32 I thought it was one of the best looking games out there. But once I popped in American Nightmare on a screen 10 inches bigger, the low res really hurt it.[QUOTE="TheGuardian03"]Lol does it matter? game looks great.Duckyindiana
