I don't really want game reviews getting any more credit than they already do. Nothing to do with the Witcher but lots of awesome games don't get the "8 or its a waste of time" score.

I wouldn't be able to find 1 single game which has a score on Gamerankings.com or Metacritic.com that isn't justified, at least when it comes to this gen. In past generations where there were only a handful of reviews, those are sometimes suspect, but for this gen and last gen, games with like 40 to 80 reviews, those games are pretty much deserving of the scores they sit at. People just let their bias get in the way, and there will always be those people who say Grand Theft Auto 4 sucks and whatever, but fact of the matter is, the game was ground breaking in almost every way, and it deserves to be at the top.

You certainly aren't looking hard enough then. Lots of great games don't get 80s and lots of terrible games do get them.

1.1 is far from alright for such a game, it is much lower than expected by miles

Selling 4-5 million anywhere would be better. The Witcher 2 will not sell that much on the 360. Look at Dark Souls.

Not many RPGs sell 4-5 million and the ones that do are generally advertised and generally are really assesable like FF and Fable. For some reason this gen if they aren't on handhelds they generally tend to suck too.

Naw, most of my favourite games actually have ridiculously high scores like SMG1&2, Vagrant Story, World Ends With You, etc. However lots of really shiity games get good scores and lots of awesome games don't get great scores. Sure, it isn't wise to listen to 1 single reviewer from a major publication like IGN or Gamespot, but a collective analysis of a game from 80 different reviewers equals out to what a game is.

What is wrong with the media? No one is forcing anyone to listen to what they have to say. It's just another way to learn about games and prevent bad purchases. It's sure a heck of a lot better than going around buying games based on the box art alone.

I've been using Gamerankings to help me decide which games to buy for the last 10 years, and literally every single game I have bought has fallen in line with the score on GR. I have never once been disappointed or let down because of GR.

It's okay for people to have different opinions. If you reviewed those games, and gave them low reviews, your reviews would ultimately be cancelled out because everyone would disagree with you, and the game's true scores would be represented on Gamerankings.

You would essentially be the Tom McShea that reviewed Skyward Sword a 7.5. Everyone would disagree with you and cancel your review out, as shown here.

The difference between me and you is you believe in "true" score bullshiit, I don't, all I want out of reviews is callin out on ridiculousness and GR does not reflect that therefore I don'te ever want it publicized as accurarte. I'm very fair on games, I however don't overlook blatant flaws which both Oblivion and LBP have. Developers guessed 4-5 million pirated. It wasn't even in the top 5 for PC most pirated of 2011.
