Why Activision winning over Capcom and EA? They havent done half the bad sh*t these two had. They didnt came up with online passes (hell not even CoD has those) and petty download practices. Sorry but both EA and Capcom should be winning this. Activision isnt half bad when its all said and done

yeah... just noticed that

Cuba is also a good option too, you get to drive a new vintage car to work every day. I don't like EA's business decisions as much as the next guy... but I still can recognize it as a strong business model and why they are (for the most part) doing reasonably well.
Oh hey! Your reading is failing you again. Either that, or you didn't even click on that article which states at the very end:Thanks for having my back I guess some dumbasses on here don't get what I said. He should know his facts before he tries to come at me.

The fact that the title is entirely generated by an internet poll makes said title completely worthless.

Why do I get the feeling that poll was also another result of ME3 ending outrage at the time?
Don't worry about it according to the poll most of us are idiots under his definition. I personally would think the opposite, letting a company walk all over you and not saying anything or defending them doesn't sound too smart.I try to just put my opinion on this thread and then someone just comes on here and calls me a idiot seriously he didn't have to be rude but I guess that's how people on the internet are.

Im just saying dont know were you live but in America people hate EA peroid worst or not they are still one of the worst companies peroid. But if you wanna like EA be my guest.
Are you a douche bag to everyone that has a different opinion than you, or did you just have a bad day or something. Seriously whats your problem?Shielder7I'm often a douchebag. However, I don't see how I've been one here, nor do I see what this has to do with "opinion". Business ethics are standardized by law and are required by every company to follow lest they face litigation (either civil, federal or private). I've already expressed my opinion regarding what I think of EA's business practices and how they relate to me as a gamer. I'm also entitled to express why I think you are just being a moany b!tch about this whole ordeal. If you don't like what EA does as a business, then take your money and give it to a developer you think does deserve it. Business is a cut throat industry. If EA thinks this business model of theirs will remain sustainable, they have another thing coming.
[QUOTE="fernandmondego_"]From price fixing to blocking games to avoid competition, the answer is Nintendo.Shielder7Nintendo blocked games?Back in the day they would not allow games to be release around the time of their releases to avoid it hurting their sales.
[QUOTE="Ly_the_Fairy"]Legality is not a synonym for ethicalZevianderThat depends on what context it is being used in. The TC is implying that these "ethical violations" are hurting consumers... which by extension would immediately involve the judicial system picking over these businesses with a fine-toothed comb and determining how consumers are being "hurt". All that these businesses are doing "wrong" is making the TC unhappy about them no longer making games solely for his benefit. I don't buy EA games because I don't like what they do with them. I don't start whining and call it "unethical" and "hurting consumers". It's business, in a largely free market, that thrives on competition. Don't like it? Go somewhere else. Which is what a lot of these developers who have their companies absorbed and "gutted" when they aren't happy with their superior's decisions.
Things like always-online DRM aren't illegal, but they do hurt the consumer who buys games (like Diablo 3) and find themselves unable to access their product.
Again, legality has absolutely no bearing on how ethical something is.
And people being able to support other products also has no bearing on how ethical a company's practices are.

I'm sure most Americans have more important things to rage over besides microtransactions and online passes. (Not sure about the ones that live on the internet though).
[QUOTE="Shielder7"]I'm pretty sure they were unaware of the "unable to access their product" situation they found themselves in after buying and trying to play the game.ZevianderWhat you are suggesting is a mere inconvenience. So not being able to play a game you PAID for because of a system a publisher implemented (i.e. DRM) for their own gain isn't unethical on the publishers behalf, just a mere inconvenience for the gamer that he/she should just be expected to put up with?
K can I just call check mate on this guy now? Are we all in agreeance his argument and reasoning is just flat out ridiculous at this point?
[QUOTE="faizan_faizan"] LOL I didn't even know EA fanboys existed :lol:HaloPimp978

Not thinking EA is the worst company in America = being an EA fanboy.Yes. This makes total sense.
So not being able to play a game you PAID for because of a system a publisher implemented (i.e. DRM) for their own gain isn't unethical on the publishers behalf, just a mere inconvenience for the gamer that he/she should just be expected to put up with?Shielder7What did they "gain" from the DRM? If anything, the bad press associated with the backlash made them LOSE money. They implemented it as a safeguard against piracy. Not one I would choose, but they didn't falsely advertise anything, nor withheld the product PURPOSEFULLY. They fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. Again, you have yet to prove a single point of an ethical violation on behalf of any business currently producing games in the gaming industry.
K can I just call check mate on this guy now? Are we all in agreeance his argument and reasoning is just flat out ridiculous at this point?Shielder7Just because you don't agree with my reasoning doesn't automatically make you the winner. I take it you know nothing about debating.

They implemented it as a safeguard against piracy. ZevianderActually they did it so they could run their real money Online auctions, and the excuse they used was to stop the cheaters. No mention of piracy from what I remember.
