EA without a doubt, same game every year for multiple titles. Though to be fair they did go through a phase a few years ago that had them going in a different direction but its back to the usual old tricks. £42.99 for a FIFA 14 roster update this October, along with tiger woods or soon to be Rory mcIlroy now he is with Nike. I heard that the new madden is going to feature DLC that let's the floodlights in the Super Bowl go out for only 400ms points.

[QUOTE="Zeviander"][QUOTE="Shielder7"]28 work in a micro lab, so yes irony. I have a feeling everyone defending EA and other publishers unethical practices probably work in business, using the same logic that people defended the banks when they needed to be bailed out. Which makes sense, an unscrupulous person is going to defend unscrupulous practices.  I'm suggesting your opinion is wrong, an opinion can't be wrong just you're a bad person or more specific an unethical person. as ethical business practices seem to be taking a back seat these days.  Well thats the image I'm getting off you anway.Shielder7
28? Good lord. I hear Cuba is nice this time of year. You'd probably like it there more than here.

I'm quite fine in Canada thank you. I enjoy not having a. OWNED BY CHINA tattooed on my butt, as well as being immune to American stupidity like a lack of Gun control laws and unregulated banks.

foxhound is canadian aswell afaik btw....and im Scottish home to one of the very few studios that SW collectively **** over and strangely i nearly got a job with them hahaha..consider the backlash bout a certain game being delayed its brilliant.

@razgriz You couldn't be more wrong. I'm a Uefa A Licence qualified football coach (soccer for the yanks) and still play once a week myself. I'm a big sportsfan and follow the 49ers as well. I have done for years, since emit smith humped them years ago for Dallas. I have previously bought FIFA 10,11 & 12 and they are nothing more than minor updates with 12 introducing tactical defending. I have skipped 13 as the series is stale. It needs an overhaul in my opinion. As for the golf games I have tiger 11 and the masters and its all about the dlc. Rory McIroy's home course is around a mile from where I live and I played it a few times over the years.

My evil publisher power rankings: 1. ActivisionBlizzard 2. Electronic Arts 3. Sony Computer Entertainment 4. Microsoft 5. Capcom 6. Ubisoft 7. THQ (got what they deserved) 8. Zenimax (Bethesda) 9. Take Two (and 2K, Rockstar, etc) 10. Warner Bros Interactive I don't buy new games from any of the above anymore. I buy their games used and get my new ones from better publishers like Nintendo, Valve, Atlus, SEGA, and even Namco.

I thought Activision Blizzard were two seperate publishers and are simply a partnership. I've never seen an ActivisionBlizzard logo on any game box or read that as a publisher of a game.

I think everyone does it. I also think it was the worst this generation than it has ever been. I mean annual games coming out year after year like Madden? Ridiculous. Some of these games like Gears, Halo, Assassins, etc are really good games, and now they are just destroying them by coming out with new ones every year with minor touchups. Its foolish, but when you have millions buying them, why should they stop?

EA aka The Graveyard (also known as where great developers go to die) blows them all out of the water. I go out of my way to avoid an EA game.

Quoting for truth. Madden is unforgivable. The frustrating thing is people buy these every year while devs like Superbot create decent fresh games and get axed.

AC needs to stop. AC2 is one of my all time favorites and they have gone downhill ever since. AC Revelations was the most disguised DLC as a game I can remember.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they're one and the same now. Activision more or less bought Blizzard if I'm not mistaken.

They merged. Technically, Activision Blizzard is a holding company and the two are still separate entities that don't really have much to do with one another.

EA still publishes games I like, so they're alright IMO.

Activision publishes what? CoD and Skylanders? Any risk they do take is sent out to die. Instead of killing studios, they turn them into CoD DLC machines. A fate truly worse than death.

Capcom is half and half. They make stupid decisions like RE6 and RE:ORC, as well as extremely stupid decisions like DmC. On the other hand, we still got RE: Revelations, Dragon's Dogma, great fighting games, insanely good PC ports, and Ace Attorney goodness. (WHERE'S AAI2 CAPCOM!? )

Ubisoft has been really good actually, except with how they chose to treat the Wii-U recently.

RIP THQ

So yeah, Activision wins my vote.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they're one and the same now. Activision more or less bought Blizzard if I'm not mistaken.Shielder7

It's just a holding company. Vivendi owned both. Vivendi merged its games division with Activision, and Blizzard was a part of that division. They still retained their independance, so Activision doesn't control them.

Set your sliders up right, a quick google search makes all the difference with madden on all-pro, linebackers dont intercept as much and the game flows better with a few of the slider setups i found on a google search, mind you the average madden player wouldnt know how to tweak this.

Superbot made a shameless cash in based off a well loved formula, with characters of games nobody really cares about if they were so good as you claim them to be why did Sony cut their ties.

Than what was the point of the merger? It's not like either one was struggling to stay a float.

Given the recent comment by EA that Consumers 'enjoying and embracing' microtransactions and that microtransactions will be built into more and more of the publisher's titles moving forward. I feel I just bump this.

I just saw that and cringed. I think they are fool of it to be honest. I don't know anyone who likes microtransactions. I think this goes back to ethics.

No offense, but the response is a little narrow.

There are only so many changes you can make to a single football gaming franchise. You could easily make a roster update every year and do at the very worst a release every few years. Just patch it for all these tweaks. No need for a new game annually, which was the point he was making.

The game is admittedly is definitely not as good as it could have been. Contrary, to the some belief, the game IS NOT titled SSB: Sony. The characters actually feel like they were ripped from their games and all tossed to fight into this one. Like every game ever released, they stole some ideas and added their new ones.  There is not an exhaustive list of characters, but there are iconic ones like PS ones like Kratos, Sackboy, Ratchet. People complain about no Crash, etc. These guys aren't idiots. They do not have the rights for these characters. This is coming from someone that worships SSBB. The characters in Smash are known because we have seen Mario in like 9000 games for the past 20 years. Emmet from Starhawk is from a game released not even a few years ago. Sales =/= quality. For brevity sake, I don't think I need to explain this further.

Hey guys. Don't know if this is allowed, but I have recently done a three part article exploring publisher-developer relationships, if you're interested: http://greymattergaming.wordpress.com/ From my research, they're all pretty bad, but it would seem EA and Activision have worse PR than the Manson family. Although the articles focus on the negatives, associated with big publisher interference, I'll probably do a devil's advocate piece, and discuss research some of the merits of big publishers. Let me know what you think!
