Would you buy a 15$ 2D RPG on XBLA ?

In light of the new upcoming XBLA 2D RPG on 360, thatis supposed tobe pure art and bring back the adventuring and feeling/atmosphere of older amazing RPGs with unique new features and choices, i would like to see how many would buy it

It is one of my most wanted titles in 2009, could be the Braid of RPGs, but in a bigger way

Braid did very well though and is one of the best games i have played

So, this is why this one os one of my most anticipated titles in 2009

Also why would i not buy an artistic deep RPG for 15$, when i buy far more shallow and cazualized RPGs for 60$ ?

I voted yes, would depend on the actual game. If I didn't like the art style and whatnot, I probably wouldn't bother. But I did enjoy Braid and I do like 2d games, like Cave Story.

Well, it is supposed to be pure art like Braid, only really far more varied in places to see, like an RPG

That is what exites me more, plus i read something about having creature armies, whatever that means

That would be good too, but it is more FF, not something totally unique and fresh like this new WRPG

Do you have some pics of the game? Previews, developer name even? Everything you ever post about this game is XBLA 2D RPG but for a person to hype a game they should know more about it.

These Hype thread about nothing seem to go no where.

As far as $15 goes, no, I'm sick of paying any more than $10 for games.

$10 was too expensive, but somehow $15 caught on with Braid and I'm sick of it.

If this happens, I hope it's $10, I have 100's of games to buy this gen, and I am sick of these price hikes.

Jonathon Blow didn't even want Braid to be $15, but he had no say.

Do you have some pics of the game? Previews, developer name even? Everything you ever post about this game is XBLA 2D RPG but for a person to hype a game they should know more about it.

There are no offical pics, just some manual pics from their draft, which are so low resolution tat you can hardly see anything

But what i read in the blog is really exiting, and that visuals are 2D and extremely artistic, and obviously beeing 2D is easy to believe, since they do not have to make a super good 3D engine or anything, just have good artists

BTW it is supposedly the first of a series they plan, so it is big and unique but only an introduction to what will follow (well, if the first goes well i guess)

It has turn based combat, but with some fresh twists and real time elements (whatever they meant by that)

Well, you would pay a 60$ for a boxed RPG, but not 15$ for a XBLA one, that is 1/4 the price ? And BTW this one is based on choice (unlike Fable 2 that promised that but did not deliver), which means you can replay it as much as you like and do whatever, a real WRPG at that, at least as described by their blog

It will not be anything like Braid, it has exploration (like all RPGs do) and multiple ways to finish it, so it is not like Braid that solving it once made it hard to go back

So, a RPG that could last more than Fable 2, for just 15$ is not that bad of a deal if you ask me, in fact that is the kind of thing i woud like to see more in XBLA, amazing long games for the bargain 15$ price

And yes, I would buy it if it turns out to be good. Of course it won't be nowhere your hype levels but that's besides the point.

If the content was there to justify the price then yes.

From what i read, it is supposed to last far longer than Braid and have choices everywhere, which means can be replayed multiple times, so at least will be worth Braid price and more by gameplay hours perspective

The developers is called Beast something, and the name will be revealed when they have closed a final deal with Microsoft as they write

BTW i love art and adventuring in my RPGs more than anything, that s why i like Fable 2 so much and am so exited about this title

also the armies thing they speak of sounds exiting, since i always play summoner, so if you can summon creatures or anything like gathering armies (like say Heroes 5), will be a blast for me

Indeed, that is what i read, they will ofcourse reveal it when close to release, just don't want to give away the game idea yet i suppose (which is rather understandable)

They are just some new developers, taking advantage of XNA to make a fresh unique XBLA title, there is nothing that hard to believe, it is not a 10.000.000$ budget game to question its existance or anything

If it interested me, sure. If any game interests me I'll buy it, regardless of what it is.

I think I remember hearing about this game. Was it developed for the Mega Drive/Genesis by some homebrew devs who had plans to realease it on XBLA? Anyway, at that price I would only go for it was really well recieved with both the critics and the gamers.

Nope, i am not that kind of guy, i never remember names or company names unles they areas huge as Square, Rare etc

For example i loved Braid, but i have no idea what the developer is called, i just don't pay attention to such things
