It's not really hard to navigate, but the PS3's XMB definitely has it beat in terms of simplicity.

I wouldn't say confusing but reassigning the controllers ticks me off the most.
...Probabaly the best UI console to date.
[QUOTE="demicofan59"]best dashboard is the wii but between the 2 xbox360Thelast21
I would say the wii has the worst...oh well...
Agree, NXE is good once you get used to it. What the Wii has is just bad.downloaded a demo on 360 had no idea where it went after the download. took a long time to find it.
took about 10min to figure out how to add a friend to my friends list.
theres about 10 menu's that you can scroll up. then about 15 more options that your can scroll too the right
360 has a horrible clunky interface

It took you ten minutes to go to the my friends tab and then go to add friend, even if you are unfamiliar with the dashbord its not that hardeven my mrs who isn't a big gamer was navigating the dash bored perfectly fine within a few minutes.
[QUOTE="DarkStraberry"][QUOTE="CPM_basic"]And I tried to play online for free on the 360 and realized I could not... Bwuhahaha!!! Clever. I have to agree though, PS3's XMB may not be the most innovative or cool UI, but it's simple and straight to the point. if its not the most intuitive than how is it simple and straight to the point? Its just as easy to find things buuuuuuuuut setting up games with friends was anything but simple, surprisling without group chat getting into a game is annoying as hell,Wow the PS3 dashboard is stupid and confusing compared to 360.
It took me 10 minutes just to figure out how to download a demo.
Then I tried to cross-game chat and realized I couldn't on PS3.
see what i did there...

i think a lot of people like the options and choices :P
i absolutely disagree, the 360 dashboard is way easier to navigate than the XMB. in my opinion of course.
no its not, they are identicle literally, you have the main options you scroll left to right on xmb, you select them by going up and down on the 360xmb is definately more simplified
coltgames
you want games, go to my xbox, then scroll right to game library.... everything on your xbox is in "my xbox" including all the options and gamertag info, than you have game marketplace... video marketplace... music marketplace... my friends... spotlight... my community... inside xbox....
if this is difficult to navigate I'd highly recommend playing those 3rd grade reading comprehension titles
edit: dam gamespot and its dam wankerrific next lines
I Like the PS3's interface more, but that's probably just because I had a PSP before 360 or PS3 and I was already used to the menu layout, usually I like whatever I'm used to first, but 360's menu is still pretty easy for the most part, especially when you get a message or a download completes and you just have to press the Guide button and it automatically brings it up for you. That's a really shweet feature

Well it took me even longer to know why i could not play online out of the box with my 360,since on PS3 is like that,i also had a hard time finding youtube upload option on games, and the internet broser, but what i am still trying to figure out is what do you have to do so that Blu-Ray movies will play, that one really has me mad.
Confusing? It's alright but I agree that the PS3 Dashboard is more organized but the 360's Dashboard isn't confusing. just not as organized as the PS3's.

wow. 10 minutes man? how long does it take you to find something on the XMB? 9? goog God both are pretty fast. Im boggled that you didn't press the big button wit a green X on it and flip to "MY GAME LIBRARY" um what was the game demo? and you do realize that once a demo downloads it pops up in the bottom of the screen. if you hit the big green x then it would pop up to the downloader with a pretty big play now near he bottom. hopefully you put it in the back ground because the downloader itself says play now in gray until the demo downloads in which it Play now turns white meaning that the demo is ready to play. heck if you were on the dashboard and scrilled down to MY XBOX it has MY GAMES really clear. how did you manage to spend 10 minutes? if Reading is really hard I'm hate to have to put you through the ordeal of decoding the meaning of Icons on the XMB, how long did that take? oh that's right only the 360 is hard. my appologies.Wow the PS3 dashboard is stupid and confusing compared to 360.

And I tried to play online for free on the 360 and realized I could not... I tried to play online on the ps3, it worked! But then I poped in KZ2 and no one was playing online!you mean when the demo finished downloading, and the pop up appeared saying so, and you hit the guide button it was confusing as to where the demo was when it gives you a big play now text?
I have no problem finding my games...since...they are under my games....
WilliamRLBaker
It is poorly designed, even my xbox fanboy friends think so. It looks like it is designed for children, there are too many ads, and no customization.

Ads on A DASHBOARD? That's pretty low. Ads on marketplace, fine...but ads on main menu etc.? The maybe unorganized dashboard shouldn't be the issue here, but the ads...I already am getting tired that sites like youtube, hotmail, msn and whatever are bombarding you with ads...but on even your own console? That's pretty low.[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]

questionable logic

Children are more prone to ads than any category of human age...remember those toys they add in (godaweful, uneatable garbage) mckids menu's etc? Both of them are streamlined and easy to use. Personally, I can't stand how many different settings there were on PS3's menu when I first got it.moose_knucklerso having more settings to work with is a bad thing now? ok, noted.
