KZ2 is not realistic because no weapons in real life have that kind of scope on the M82, and the weapons are just fake and will probably never exist. Nevertheless, "unrealistic" doesn't mean bad. In fact, alot of fun games can be considered "unrealistic".;) Even COD4 can be deemed unrealistic(auto-aim does not exist in real life).

NYrockinlegend
I wouldn't consider auto aim a factor that makes it unrealistic, aiming with a joystic is however so auto aim compensates for inability to track targets, even killzone uses it although not as drastic.

[QUOTE="pyromaniac223"][QUOTE="gamewatereddown"]killzone2 does many things wrong. you shoot ur guns with ur right hand pull trigger, but if you lean around a wall on ur left lol the guy will take his gun and put it in his left hand when ur leaning. that's fake as hell.

People do this in real life. If you only use one hand, then you expose yourself when leaning out of the left. It's not difficult to learn to shoot with both hands, and its very necessary.

nope my trigger finger is my right, i wouldnt put gun in my left hand to pull trigger, i would just overlap my right arm over my left when leaning around wall on my left.

if you think that recoil is strong on todays weapons then you need to workout or something because the weapons today arent even heavy for s**t. cod 4 has a more realistic weapon feel than K2.

[QUOTE="gamewatereddown"][QUOTE="pyromaniac223"][QUOTE="gamewatereddown"] Sure you can reload while sprinting. But jumping and shooting would not work in an actual war situation. It would make you an absolute sitting duck, and you would barely be able to jump with all that equipment on your back. Why do you think that no highly-trained militaries teach their soldiers to jump and shoot? It doesn't work.[QUOTE="gamewatereddown"][QUOTE="pyromaniac223"][QUOTE="gamewatereddown"]killzone2 does many things wrong. you shoot ur guns with ur right hand pull trigger, but if you lean around a wall on ur left lol the guy will take his gun and put it in his left hand when ur leaning. that's fake as hell.

Okay, that's what you do, but once again, the military teaches ambidextrity.

I agree for the most part, especially when it comes to the controls and the feel of the game. They tried to do something different and it worked since it took me a while to adjust.

4. If you have ever handled a gun/rifle (not that you should) Recoil is STRONG, the gun is slow and when you run or move with it, there is resistance and overall weight. K2 iS the only shooter i know that does it right.munu9

Today: No, In the past during WW1 and WW2 the guns have aton of recoil, I fired a 1917 Enfieldand that kicks like a mule. The M1 is alittle bit better, but still has a kick. Butthe US Military uses 5.56mm in the M16. That means low recoil. Since Killzone is in the future I am sure there would be less recoil.

Also todays guns are fairly light and not that slow at all. My FS2000 is fairly easy to carry around.

Most games are unrealistic, such as killzone 2, you get shot afew times stay behind cover and the magical healing faerie will heal you (she been pretty busy this gen)

Well it's the future, maybe they have a lesser version of wolverine's healing factor? :P Plus they aren't just carrying gun weight, they're carrying all of their gear. Even now soldiers in war carry up to 40 pounds of gear

Maybe that could explain the healing, dang muties :P. They carry that much today, in the past they carried alot more. In the Killzone 2 time I would expect them to carry alot less.

its also based on the dominant eye, if you shoot with the other then youll miss and have killed your teammates and you.

cod4 is better representation of what you can do movement wise shooting a gun in real life. i know my dad's a gun enthusiast i been shooting guns since i was a kid before i started playing fps. i laugh at people who dont know crap about real guns telling me something. most people are pansy's, i was pulling both trigger sametime on barrel shotguns and crap when i was kid. lol everyone i see only does 1 trigger at a time on a double. ak-47 hardly any recoil, double barrel pulling both triggers sametime=recoil lol.

Just because you don't train ambidextrously does not mean its fake, it just means you are not trained in both hand shooting. In fact, most tactical instructors call weak hand shooting a must, since it could save your life in the field and makes tactical maneuvers easier.

it is fake nobody can shoot just as good with both hands. michael angelo batio can play guitar with both hands, but he's better with his right you can tell and he's ambidextrous

No two hands will be exactly the same, and I never said they would be, but I can point out to you many shooters who are 99% the same on both hands.

2. Games like HALO, CS, HL, L4D are NOT realistic. they are floaty unrealistic shooters mainly done for the fun factor. More people prefer games like those, because it gives you more control and instant reaction to your finger movements ,etc.THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND.4. If you have ever handled a gun/rifle (not that you should) Slambo86
I agree with point number 2, and what is this "you shouldn't" ever have fired a gun/rifle nonsense? We can't practice recreational sports now? And the game isn't realistic. Then again neither are any of the games you listed. If you want a realistic FPS, play OpFlash or ARMA (and their sequels will be the next FPS' I buy :)).

you dont need training to shoot guns you need common sense, that's the reason our army sucks, they dont have common sense. these are the same people who would put a gun to their head joking about it, even if i knew it was unloaded and i just unloaded it i would never do that. these people just dont have brains.

Just because you haters don't prefer realistic shooters, doesn't mean it isn't realistic. (thats gotta be the worst attempt at bashing)

1. The game has WEIGHT, guns sway and movement is heavier...NOT slow and broken, GG were going for realism..and they achieved this.

no handgunbullet can "throw you" several feet away like in kz2, its funny and attractive but not realistic and dont start "omg its 50 cal " not even 50 cal can "throw you"

2. Games like HALO, CS, HL, L4D are NOT realistic. they are floaty unrealistic shooters mainly done for the fun factor. More people prefer games like those, because it gives you more control and instant reaction to your finger movements ,etc.THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND.

neither is kz2

3. only reason people complain about controls is because its the first shooter to play with such realism and the fact people are used to quick and fast paced shooters.

ever played arma? kz2 is as realistic as need for speed is for racing sims

4. If you have ever handled a gun/rifle (not that you should) Recoil is STRONG, the gun is slow and when you run or move with it, there is resistance and overall weight. K2 iS the only shooter i know that does it right.

depends on your strenght, and we are talking about trained marines or whatever here

(waits for haters to post smileys with there replies to make up for cheap comebacks and excuses)

Slambo86

conclusion - KZ2 is far from realistic

answers are in green

It is unrealistic, I think the weight of weapons just make it different from other FPSs and thus why many people prefer COD over KZ2, all they wanna do is run and shoot and I understand that. For me I like KZ2 more because it takes more skill than other shooters to simply shoot, specially sniping moving targets :)

We were talking about weak and strong hand shooting. He said his dad would know cuz he collects guns. I am pointing out that I would take the word of highly trained combat marksmen over a collector about shooting technique. And if he just meant shooting, why bring up the Army, since as you put it, anyone can do it?

Well having cannon fodder could be helpful. Make the enemy waste ammo on them (atlhough with them jumping and firing they may be more dangerous to their selves.

Really i've never heard of a combat situation where the US military is just wandering around like blundering idiots, and i've never seen another military hiding in ditches all just in case something happened. Ser i believe you need to leave now because you've proven to be fairly biased and ignorant

Futuristic shooter are not realistic BUT KILLZONE 2 IS MORE REALISTIC THAN other games ever will be. For Killzone 2 is more realistic than COD4 which was meant to be realistic. In COD4 you run with heavy weapons as if they were feathers.

how heavy do you think weapons are 60lbs? woulden weapons would be the heaviest and they still wouldn't cause that much difficulty in mobility.

KZ2 is not more realistic than other games will ever be. Its more realistic than some games (which don't go for realism) will ever be, but not nearly as realistic as actual "realistic" FPS games.

Just because you haters don't prefer realistic shooters, doesn't mean it isn't realistic. (thats gotta be the worst attempt at bashing)

1. The game has WEIGHT, guns sway and movement is heavier...NOT slow and broken, GG were going for realism..and they achieved this.

2. Games like HALO, CS, HL, L4D are NOT realistic. they are floaty unrealistic shooters mainly done for the fun factor. More people prefer games like those, because it gives you more control and instant reaction to your finger movements ,etc.THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND.

3. only reason people complain about controls is because its the first shooter to play with such realism and the fact people are used to quick and fast paced shooters.

4. If you have ever handled a gun/rifle (not that you should) Recoil is STRONG, the gun is slow and when you run or move with it, there is resistance and overall weight. K2 iS the only shooter i know that does it right.

(waits for haters to post smileys with there replies to make up for cheap comebacks and excuses)

i think kz2 has the best and most realistic controls in any fps

If a huge deadzone counts as realism then yeah.

What? Have you ever fired a gun? I am member of a shooting range and the recoil in Killzone is exaggerated (even more for a game). The controls are unresponsive, not slow - for example, sweepshots are competely random and rare in killzone unles you master the art of button lag. The recoil is STRONG, but that doesnt make it realistic. The shooter with an acurrate representaton of recoil that i've played is - you guesed it - none. I have yt to play a game to get recoil right, and i could care less if any game pulled i off, because a game that is completely realistic would be boring.

i don't think it's unrealistic, just think it sucks personally. controls are awful, gameplay is stilted and stale.

I dont think any video game is realistic, Hence why there video games

Animal-Mother

Operation Flashpoint? It led to the creation of military training simulators unless I am mistaken.
