[QUOTE="Gambler_3"]Another one who pays no attention...
It's talking about the future...

Yeah but even in the futures the 360 will most likely make more money:
1) Each PS3 Slim sells for less profit than the 360.
2) The attach rate for the 360 is higher.
3) Heavy Rain, MAG, et cetera sold well... for PS3 games. 1 million sold is pretty good, and it might even reach 2 million someday... but even The Simpsons Game sold 1 million on the 360. In fact, the 360 has ~94 one million+ sold titles to the PS3's ~54 (worldwide figures).
4) RRoD is down to under 10%. Even then, the 360 sells for a profit, and repairs typically aren't that expensive for Microsoft.
5) XBLA generates an insane amount of money. I think the latest count is ~25 million games bought on Live.
6) Lastly, the PS3 is starting to take the lead in sales here in Europe. Just barely, though, and the 360 is currently still the king console here (barely). The U.S. is, and probably always will be, the land of the 360. And Japan... well, they downright loathe the 360, but there's only ~6 million current gen console owners there all together, so they don't really affect the market like they did in the past.
1. We arent talking about profit dude. Revenues means sales not profits.2. The PS3 is catching up...
3. Again the PS3 was slow but now games sell quite well and even some multiplats sell more than the 360 version. The current number of million titles is irrevalent.
4. Expenses and profit have nothing to do with revenue.
5. Games are sold on PSN as well albeit a lil less but when you factor in the fact that these games already dont cost that much, the difference is quite insignificant when it comes to the big picture cuz remember we are talking sales here not profits.
The PS3 no where near makes the same amount of money than the 360 does.
The attach rate for games per console sold is 3 to 1 in favor of MS. the average 360 owners purchase 8 games compared to 2.5 for the PS3. This is most likely where the numbers come from along with Live marketplace sales.
Microsoft also make serious money off of XBL and all the micro-transactions. 20+ million subscribers x $50 is already $1 billion. That's not even taking into consideration people buying clothing for their avatars or buying games like Braid or Castle Crashers. If the average is $50 spent per year per subscriber, that could be another $1 billion.
And, as we all know, Microsoft charges way too much for their accessories, which is another great avenue of profit. Probably third to XBL & licensing fees, but every little bit helps.
