Yes, it has been 14 months since X360 had a AAAE. While MS is cashing out millions to companies to prevent Sony having 3rd party exclusives, they're forgetting one thing -- Having exclusives for themselves. Why buy an Xbox, now? It's nothing but a cheap version of the PS3. Most of it's great games are multi-platform.

As this war unfold, Sony gameplan has become more evident and prominent to success of winning. Many laugh at Sony for losing big-hit exclusives, but Sony knew that it was all about 1st party exclusives. Now, their 1st party line-up rivals, if not, better than Nintendo. Bad idea for Microsoft to go after exclusives that are on the "downhill." Microsoft must establish a strong first party library for the future, or it's Bye, Bye Microsoft! You can't win the war by having the same games as the opposition...

Maybe Uncharted was a little low, but opinions will vary. such is life. but the Gamerankings.com average for Warhawk suggests it was not underrated but rather OVERRATED.. again, you're going to have to come to grips with both realities: opinions will vary...and Warhawk is overrated here, based on GR aggregated scoring.

IMO Uncharted and Warhawk were severely underrated in GS. They scored 9.0 just about everywhere except for here. Many people who have played Halo 3 and Warhawk Multiplayer online say, Warhawk is superior. Yet Halo 3 outscored Warhawk due to the hype and rabid fanbase. Lemming insisted PS3 "has no games" because they didnt have an AAA in GS, and now the 360 hasnt gotten an AAA in 14 months.WalterPaladines

Warhawk recieved alot of 8.0-ish scores actually. Uncharted, however you are right about. Slightly underrated here at Gamespot.

Now, where's the evidence for this part?

Halo outscored Warhawk for several reasons; including a fun campaign with online co-op and metagame scoring, debatablely equal multiplayer strengths, inclusion of Forge and Theatre modes as well as a much more fleshed out variety of community options.

This might be hard to believe, but im not a fanboy. Ps3 has plent of games just look,I played twice the amount of games this year on my ps3 then my 360.

Apart from mgs4, I find nothing about the ps3 worth buying, espicially not spending an extra 200 bucks for, Im sure there are great games on the ps3 but for me at least it hasnt hit the point where I see a need to get a ps3 at all, Unless I wanted a blueray player most of the ps3 is just bloated costs, And I'm doing fine with my arcade 360, and yes I dont have a harddrive and am still capable of playing everything and enjoying it. Mainly I chose to get the 360 over ps3 becuase of this years christmass lignup aprt from LBP which looked like fun but not something I'd spend full price for( i thought it was a psn download) and mgs4, theres nothing spectactular about the ps3 to really merit its price tag. There's alot of extra features forced onto you when you buy a ps3 and I dont want ot pay that much!

Let clear this up! I'm totally aware what is reality and pseudo-reality. I know in the "real world" there is no such thing as a System War. However, I'm posting in a forum called, System Wars. In case YOU didn't know, their are guidelines we have here in this forum. I'm using these guidelines as the bases of my argument. The fact is, X360 is in a drought of AAAE games. We don't use gameranking. We don't care about your personal opinion. We only go by Gamespot. If you cannot handle that simple guideline, I suggest another forum that actually likes your opinion.

By this logic......

and anyway, that vein of argument fails anyway. the notion that the PS3 had no games was a notion perpetuated by the apparent lack of ANY AAAE/AAAAE games on the console according to Gamespot. As in, in the lifetime of the PS3, it had yet to have a AAAE game. that changed in June, so that vein of argument died and hasn't been used since. by contrast, the 360 has had AAAE games since 2005, so there the avenue for teh 360 not having any games does not exist.

you could, however, say, "the 360 doesn't have any new games." of course, that argument will only be worth talking about until Gears of War 2 launches.

so really, you mean "a AAAE drought". not a "drought", as a general "drought" reflects an extended period of time where a console was getting no good games. The Gamecube, for example, experienced real droughts. The Wii experienced a real drought after Brawl came out. The 360 may be in a "gamespot AAAE drought", but 360 gamers surely aren't starving for good games.

just because this forum is on gamespot shouldn't mean we have to use their scores. no relavent discussion can take place in such a closeminded forum. i'm not even talking crap about GS in particular, it wouldn't be wise to use any one source for scores. the success of a forum depends on its willingness to allow various ideas to be discussed.

instead of GR though, i like using a general frame from all the sources that i trust. thats MY standing. you can agree with me or take another.

Another trend I we see is that exclusives are becoming less and less prevalent and less and less significant to the desireability of a console.

We just have to be careful not to oversimplifying the situation. I think MS knows it doesn't have the same level of first party games as Nintendo or even Sony. But they've done an outstanding job of distinguishing themselves from the rest by virtue of things like Xbox Live, snagging previously exclusive titles, making inroads to the Japanese market with JRPGs, and exclusive content for multiplatform games.

You want to gauge droughts based on those criteria?

Yes, there may be some correlation between AAAE games and console sales, but what does that say about the latest NPDs? Or the fact that the 360 has outsould the PS3 in Japan for... how many weeks now? Is that because of AAAE titles? In small part, yes. But it's painfully obvious that there's more than one factor at play.
