[QUOTE="Timstuff"]You can buy a junk computer for $500 and a junk game console for $500, or you can build an awesome PC that does everything better than either of them for $1000. It's not for everyone, but it's for people who like having one thing that is awesome as opposed to two things that are not so awesome.

I doubt a $1000 pc today would be able to beat the Xbox 720.
Here's a combo from Newegg that will beat up the Xbox 720 and take it's lunch for $625:

And whaddya know, we still have $375 left to drop on a Radeon 7970, which is one of the most powerful graphics card on the planet and should last you a healthy 4 years:

So there you have it-- a machine that should last about 4 years or more with no upgrades at all, for just about $1000. The Xbox 720 will be this things low-IQ little cousin who's a bit small for his age, and will grow up to make a living collecting welfare and disability checks, while the PC will go on to do a great many things that the 720 can barely dream of.
AMD CPU? I'd have gone Intel CPU, AMD GPU, like in your sig. I know man you're illustrating a point ...
And speaking of that point, I suspect you're right. I am unsure of exactly why, but it seems to me that chances are slim-to-none for an 8th gen console to offer better graphics per dollar than a PC.
