Ronvalencia, I choose you!In B4 Tormentos arrives to tell us how this is bad, how he predicted it, and how cboat leaked it.

Still trying to catch up to Sony.
Sony's CPU is said to be 2GHz base clocked.
Still 12.5% slower then PS4.
Was 20%.

Between this and 8 controllers I wonder if X1's next update will be a Coupon for free Mcdonalds ketchup
[QUOTE="AzatiS"]a whole 0.15 more ... !! Im excited nowII_Seraphim_IIThats actually a pretty decent upclock. Do you really think this upclock will reverse current situation ? People will go crazy about it and cancel PS4 preorder for X1 ? This is good only for lemmings or/and future X1 buyers. Noone else. M$ desperatly trying to reverse how things are atm and beleive me , things are really bad for M$ as we speak and they running out of time. 3 months left more or less. Good for X1 future owners but nothing major to wow about in short.
and how its a lie, and how if it were true it was only microsoft lying to us to begin with, and how even though its a lie if it were true it means Microsoft is somehow molesting us or stealing our money...etc...etcIn B4 Tormentos arrives to tell us how this is bad, how he predicted it, and how cboat leaked it.

Dont forget the MS has seperate processors for everything going on. Seperate Kinect, sound processors etc. The PS4 just has one and getts wayed down just when the eye toy is plugged in.Still trying to catch up to Sony.

No, this is unfair. Â a 10% CPU overclock and advantage over your competitor is very real and is not nothing. Â You guys are being remarkably unfair to the Xbone at this point. Â This is strictly a win for the Xbone, CPU power is the easiest of all things to utilize in game development. Â

The X1 REALLY is playing catch up.
PS4 is 1.6Ghz per Guerillas Killzone Dev Diary.
Cali3350
FFC listing is 2.75GHz and other sites say 2 GHz.
Dev's might say 1.6GHz but we wont know till launch.
That's why I said "Said to be".
Plus PS4 has the Co-processor. ;)

Yes i stand corrected. it has two. two processors is so 2012. the x1 has like 29 or something. Joke.[QUOTE="Douevenlift_bro"]Negative. Yep, boost clock is what that number is said to be.
http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/xbox-one-vs-sony-ps4
"They're 8-core chips using 'Jaguar' cores - a term picked by their maker AMD to denote their chipset generation. Although it's yet to be officially confirmed, the PS4 chipset is expected to be clocked slightly higher than Xbox's at 2GHz rather than 1.6GHz."
This is directly 10% faster per thread performance. Â That is significant. Â Certainly doesnt suddenly flip the tables, PS4 has more raw computational power, but this IS significant. Â CPU was always likely to be the biggest bottleneck for most codepaths this gen. Â

Not sure is this means anything, but I also remember Nick Baker stating:
"to get all of this processing out of the box" is a challenge too.The new CPU core can do six CPU operations per core per cycle, on an eight-core CPU.
Not sure if this is signifigant of not.
[QUOTE="clyde46"][QUOTE="Truth_Hurts_U"]2.75GHz is the max that CPU can output, however it is restricted due to the thermal and power constraints of being in a such a closed box. Plus to that fact the that spec is for the dev kit which is larger and more ventilation. Its a trade off, Sony could have a higher clock speed but they will sacrifice noise as the fan will be required to spin faster to combat the heat. From what I've seen, its a 92mm/120mm fan on the chip. Not sure if there will be a fan forcing air into the unit.FFC listing is 2.75GHz and other sites say 2 GHz.

You're a complete buffoon if you expect the clock speed to be even 2ghz in such a closed area with even the PSU inside, and the heat coming from GDDR5 memory. It would cause the system to burn down your house. :)Please Log In to post.
