Actually, XBO has the larger APU chip i.e. ~363 mm^2 against PS4's 348 mm^2. Without 32MB ESRAM, XBO could have 28 CU GPU instead of 14 CU version. GDDR5 related issues wouldn't exist in the next round.

Any game that is made to run at 30fps on the X1 will have no problem running at 60fps @1080p with highest settings on the PS4 Neo. The 4.4 Tflops in the PS4 Neo is more than enough as a mid gen upgrade. It could be that the Scorpio will support 4K native in games, but I don't see the point for that yet.

They are simply moving to an iterative model business where they continue to release new hardware while keeping products both forwards and backwards compatible. Microsoft and Sony won't drop support of the OG XB1/PS4 until the Xbox 3.0 and PS5.0 get released. I think supporting a console after two generations of iterative hardware is released is plenty. That's a good 6+ years of support for each gen of hardware released going forward.

Nobody has to upgrade or buy those consoles they are just there because there is a market for it, especially if the price isn't too high. Nobody has to upgrade or buy those consoles they are just there because there is a market for it, especially if the price isn't too high. If one doesn't own a PS4 or XB1 yet then more than likely they will choose the more powerful versions if the price isn't drastically higher.

@xhawk27: Never said they were. I myself am waiting for E3 before I go celebrating on the forums like an idiot. Anything is subject to change. I still remember rumors saying the PS4 was gonna use 4GB GDDR5 and was gonna launch after Xbone, we saw how that turned out. None of the specs or launch dates are confirmed until the companies announce them.
