[QUOTE="jessie5788"]if this is true then once again ms is copying sony for getting it right in the beginning. its funny seeing all the lems say great one up for ms when every last one of you bashed sony for doing the same thing. this is not like dualshock 3 no one demanded this no devs asked for this. its a waste to even bring this.jessie5788

very very false. both ps3 owners and kojima demanded rumble http://gaygamer.net/2006/11/kojima_wants_ps3_rumble_back.html

microsoft said from the start that they would support blueray if it were to win the format war. you know whats funny? i dont recall lemmings making a big deala about sony adding an hardrive to the ps3.

i may of reworded this wrong . i m saying no one is demanding blu-ray on the 360 like the way dualshock was demanded. and hardrive was there from the begining it was never introduced later.

:|....So who's on first base?

..BR has never been on the 360 so how can you measure demand? Sony pulled rumble for the PS3 after it's huge success on the PS2...Of course rumble was missed +120 Mil people used it..

its not hard to see if something is demanded. rumble for example was demanded. devs like kojima wanted rumble back fans actually wanted it back. i'm pretty sure if you went back to 06 threads some people were mad about rumble being gone. blu-ray on the 360 is just as easy to find also. how many times do you see lems make threads about wanting a blu-ray on there system how many devs say that they want a blu-ray player on the 360. next to none.

So you base your facts on demand by how many topics are on it in a game forum?.....Emmm...wow..

Note to self: Patent a muffler bearing and post in all the car enthusiasts sites and i will be a millionaire

Over a dozen companies worked on VC-1. Not JUST microsoft. But sure they would like to take all the credit for it, just like they try to do with almost everything.....everything that succeeds of course.

The quote that re-affirmed my belief that DVD will be the king until next gen...

"Many expected the death of HD-DVD would trigger a growth in Blu-ray hardware sales. However, to the dismay of the industry, acceptance and adoption of Blu-ray has been dismal."

Blue Ray will take around 3-6 years to be widely accepted. Also, by the time it is accepted, we will be in a world were we are downloading are movies in HD, or watching movies in HD on demand through Cable/Sat. Dish networks... Also, for those pirate, pirating movies is evolving into online streaming in high quality... Piracy may kill blue ray sales as well...

that isnt confirmed. The news just came today out of the blu (haha pun). No one has confirmed or denied. Or even gotten a response from M$ yet.

If its true Im taking a safe bet that itll be godly expensive but cheap enough to justify because ull get Xbox games witha blu ray player. However how many people are going to want to be able to hear their 360's fans over their Blu Ray movie? And with Blu Ray probablly increasing usage of the average 360 RRoD will just because a bigger problem. Idk how many people will want to have RRoD in the middle of their movie.

theonlyGAMESTER
We have been able to do that for about 5 years, and apparently it still isn't widely accepted. How long have there been MP3s? 7-8 years, and CDs still sell, and most MP3s go out FREE, movies cost money. Digital Distribution isn't really the preferred method.

BluRay is great and i'm a lemming but so was HDDVD but it died so if I as a lemming want HD movies then BluRay it is

Wait lemme' get this straight, you're saying MS got owned and so did all of you who said blu-ray wasn't needed for gaming?

You're saying that all that bashing of Bluray and saying its going to fail was wrong afterall? You're actually saying you don't like overhyped exclusive games that come in like 6 dvds? *coughs-Lost odessy-cough*

LEMMENS ALL GOT OWNED!!!

A cow referring to overhyped exclusives is like Michael Jackson referring to perverts, it means nothing.

of course. and it could be a big win for Microsoft, as it can help them stem the tide of 360 owners who were looking into a PS3 primarially because of the Blu-ray playing capabilities.

Because we bought a system without blu ray, whereas if we had of bought a little later, we would get blu ray. It's a bit annoying that we couldn't get it in the first place. It feels like future owners will be spending the same or less and getting more features.

if you think about this may not be true, i can't see ms paying sony for blu-ray. i mean really. if ms makes a console with blu-ray there screwing over their consumers. so more than likely they'll have an add-on. but this will be expensive. the hd-dvd add on was 200. how much was it when it launched. i can't remeber if it was more. but the blu-ray add on will be 200-300. rip off. bettter off getting the ps3. its still funny how lems are happy about when they bashed blu-ray on the ps3.

Blu-ray was not an option for the 360 launch window. It didn't get finalized until the next year.

...and do you remember the production delays on PS3's because of the limited availability of Blu-ray diodes? Imagine if TWO major consoles were trying to vie for the same small supply of Blu-ray diodes!

would have been a nightmare.

Bottom line here is simple: 360 owners can contiue watching HD moves through their 360s via an add-on that will cost less than any Blu-ray player on the market. If 360 owners like how that sounds, they'll enjoy this add-on, just like they enjoyed the HD-DVD add-on.

Don't want it, don't buy it. But don't assume nobody will. I suspect Microsoft could sell at least a few hundred thousand of these.

No, they want to slow people down from buying a PS3. If they don't buy a PS3, Microsoft wins a small, but significant battle.

all of these companies pay each other for various components, parts and technology in their machines.

Sony pays Microsoft a small royalty to allow for WMA playback on the PSP. Microsoft pays Sony a small royalty for DVD. The list goes on and on.

It's just business. Don't make it deeper than it is.

Agreed....in addition we should see a sub $200 player by the end of the year..If an add on is introduced say for the holiday 08 season it would be less expensive..

At the end of the day..If MS comes on board with BR...EVERYONE in the chain wins...Sony..MS..the studios..retailers and consumers

the only people that don't win are the ignorant fanboys

if you think about this may not be true, i can't see ms paying sony for blu-ray. i mean really. if ms makes a console with blu-ray there screwing over their consumers. so more than likely they'll have an add-on. but this will be expensive. the hd-dvd add on was 200. how much was it when it launched. i can't remeber if it was more. but the blu-ray add on will be 200-300. rip off. bettter off getting the ps3. its still funny how lems are happy about when they bashed blu-ray on the ps3.jessie5788
Not all are happy about it. Where did you get this from?

[QUOTE="jessie5788"][QUOTE="masiisam"][QUOTE="jessie5788"][QUOTE="lawlessx"]

[QUOTE="jessie5788"]if this is true then once again ms is copying sony for getting it right in the beginning. its funny seeing all the lems say great one up for ms when every last one of you bashed sony for doing the same thing. this is not like dualshock 3 no one demanded this no devs asked for this. its a waste to even bring this.masiisam

very very false. both ps3 owners and kojima demanded rumble http://gaygamer.net/2006/11/kojima_wants_ps3_rumble_back.html

microsoft said from the start that they would support blueray if it were to win the format war. you know whats funny? i dont recall lemmings making a big deala about sony adding an hardrive to the ps3.

i may of reworded this wrong . i m saying no one is demanding blu-ray on the 360 like the way dualshock was demanded. and hardrive was there from the begining it was never introduced later.

Note to self: Patent a muffler bearing and post in all the car enthusiasts sites and i will be a millionaire

no such thing as a muffler bearing....actually a bearing would have no use whatsoever in a muffler. postting in car enthusiast sites would make you zero money. as i would assume anyone with any bit of brain power knows this. now if you posted in say...a paris hilton fan site or something then your gonna make millions

forgot in my last post to comment on the topic at hand. every lemming on this site bashed bluray to no end, and now they're praising it,. kinda retarded if you ask me. also the article clearly says a built in blu ray drive. im sorry but lemming all make fun of ps3 users about the many SKU's, well at least they've never done an upgrade of this calibre. the absolute worste one sony did was not include wifi in the 20 gig. also if the 360's already have heating problems wont a blu ray player make it worse???this kinda sucks tho cause i was really considering buying a 360 elite but now with this announcement i guess il just keep waiting

That would be sweet. Not only was HD-DVD backed by microsoft, but so was the video compression used. If this comes true, it will go to show that Microsoft is Sony's ****dxmcat

Are you retarded? Hows does that make MS Sony's *****? Sony is not the soul creator of the BD like some of you people seem to think. MS decided to side with HDDVD, big deal. Plus really at the time of release HD had more features anyways, just not the space capacity. Its taken Blu-ray what like 2+ years to get all the features that was availabe on HD-DVD at launch. /sigh fanboys never cease to amaze.

For the record I'm a huge BD fan, just felt to share a few facts for those to close minded to see them for themselves.

BR is over rated. Sure its the future of gaming... But for movies... I think it looks worse then DVD's. Because HD grain in movies looks like crap.

Although I will admit some BR movies do look fantastic... If they don't have special effects over the image.

Truth_Hurts_U

The noise is not from the special effects. Its from the transfer from older movies to HD. Most of your newer movies coming out, especially those shot in digital have very very little noise if any at all. I.E. I am Legend.
