Oh god i certainly hope not, next gen i really want to pick up the Xbox first then the PlayStation (judging by how this gen went). But if there are any signs of failure i'll most likely wait a year before purchasing it.
Whilst we're talking about next gen here can i ask what that "Ouya" thing is meant to be? Is that the codename for the next PS4 or an actual next gen console coming from a company?
Yeah there were reports about this a few months back too with other processor related problems. But at least they're taking the time to fix it and not relaese dodgy hardware like the 360
Next gen RROD is so advanced it breaks even before release.kuraimen
I'm sure the PS4 is having problems too, we just don't hear about them. To think some next gen console isn't breaking before launch is naive, all prototypes fail before release.

Article Title - Xbox 720 release delayed due poor processor quality.
Start of 3rd paragraph in article - This COULD mean delays in the Xbox 720 launch
So...we're getting RROD version 2...because Microsoft decided to delay the console because of manufacturing defects instead of shipping it anyway? :?
I'm guessing basic logic and reasoning escapes you people...
Always good to hear good news about the Nextbox. MS is learning from their mistakes.
The Nextbox will be unstoppable
Hey give them some credit, at least they're delaying it this time so it's not an epic fail launch like the 360 was, in terms of hardware quality and reliability that is.
And actual number of units, my friend had to travel to London to get his launch unit. Even in 2007 when I got my first 360, mine was the last in the shop because the manager was nice enough to hold it for me for 24 hours.Hey give them some credit, at least they're delaying it this time so it's not an epic fail launch like the 360 was, in terms of hardware quality and reliability that is.

in this thread, people that dont know anything about the manufacturing of processors.
a CPU that doesnt meet QA never leaves the factory. the issue is the CPU might cost too much to manufacture... they arent gonna put bad CPUs in the console.
:x
my god such moron charlie sheen's...ITS SEMICONDUCTOR yield....rememer when the ps3 was first in production and they not only had issues with blu laser diodes but also with yields on the cell chip? it was something like only a 30% return on silicon usage they would manufacture all these cell chips and only 30% were functional....
thtats right exact same thing this happens all the time in semiconductor and silicon manufacture when you create a new chip you have to figure out the process it takes time to get yields up thankfully silicon is almost infinitely recyclable.
