The only feature xbox live has other psn IMO is cross game chat and party chat.

PSN has more apps than xbox live such as home and life with playstation.

PSN plus offers discounts and exclusives beta for $50 a yearand demos and all i see on XBL is online play and cross game chat? (every other platform even thepsp and dsdoesn't force their users to pay for online play) for $60.

Some online ps3 games offer dedicated servers and xbox live uses P2P(If the host lag everyone lags it doesn't matter about your connection)

IMO online ps3 exclusive shooters(Resistance, killzone, MAG)offer a larger scope than exclusive xbox shooters(halo gears of war).

Please explain to me im not trying to troll i own a xbox 360 myself but i see no value to pay $60 a year for xbox live. I love playing on PSN and its one of my best online experiences apart from the PC.

Please explain to me the value of xbox live and i might even consider it.

I find it to be a better system over all, plus games such as Halo and Gears which aren't on PS. Also I don't own a PS :P

Glad we know your opinion

PSN has more apps than xbox live such as home and life with playstation.

It dosen't have more "apps" Live has more apps. pointless apps that the PS3's web browser counters, but still more apps

PSN plus offers discounts and exclusives beta for $50 a yearand demos and all i see on XBL is online play and cross game chat? (every other platform even thepsp and dsdoesn't force their usersto pay for online play) for $60.

MS suck, simple really ... Gold members get discounts too, and early access to demos etc, compared to Silver membersto

Some online ps3 games offer dedicated servers and xbox live uses P2P(If the host lag everyone lags it doesn't matter about your connection)

Some online 360 games have dedicated servers. Infact the amount is comparable to the PS3

IMO online ps3 exclusive shooters(Resistance, killzone, MAG)offer a larger scope than exclusive xbox shooters(halo gears of war).

Glad we know your opinion. It is however the opinion of the vast majority that Halo is better then all of those games. It's played FAR more, that's for sure.

Please explain to me im not trying to troll i own a xbox 360 myself but i see no value to pay $60 a year for xbox live. I love playing on PSN and its one of my best online experiences apart from the PC.

Xbox Live is a better experiance then PSN. I'm sure no one is arguing that. It's the value which is the issue. There is no value in Xbox Live, or at the very least not $50 and especially not $60

$1.15 a week is worth party & cross game chat. Though it's not really price related, I much prefer the setup as well.

Call it however you want, if people choose to pay for Xbox Live, they are free to do so. If anyone prefers PSN - play PSN.

For starters, XBL has sonicare. Well, I guess so does PSN, but I'm on XBL more so your chance of finding sonicare is 70% higher on XBL than PSN. That alone is worth the 5$/month.

o_O? I'm confused... If you say there no value on XBL to justify the annual fee (I agree with you there) and if the PSN does pretty much everything apart from cross game chat (useless IMO). Why do you say XBL is a better experience? I have the original Xbox and never sign up for XBL, cause i never thought it was worth the money, same goes for XBL on 360. But thats just my opinion, i also think PSN + is not worth the money they ask for, plain simple PSN is the way to go and i hope they keep it that way on the PS4.

Because it has more exclusive content, has more features(don't care if you think they're useless, they're still more), and gets many things before PSN does. Whether thats worth the price is a matter of opinion.

It does everything PSN does, better. Plus has extra things. Things like communicating with friends, the feedback system, party system etc are all things PSN don't have. Hell PSN can't even do friends lists right.

PSN however is free, and imo what Xbox Live offers over PSN does not make up for the amojnt of moneyI pay for it. It's not a lot of money, but it's money. MoneyI could spend elsewhere, as opposed to the bottomless pit that is MS' pockets.

Maybe if they'd discuss exactly WHY they feel their service is so superior that we should pay, i'd consider renewing my Live. I need some convincing MS. I ordered a new PS3 only yesterday.

of course you won't get it, and you never will. value is subjective, no one is right or wrong on the subject, no matter how you slice it.

maybe it would be wise to just not worry about what other people pay, it really isn't your business anyhow.

i have a 360 and a PS3 i game on both a lot an im really not a fanboy of either i just enjoy great games. imo if you just want to play online on your own then XBL has no advantage over XBL it works just fine. but if you have a group of 5 or 6 friends how want to play a game together then cross game chat and party chat just make thing so much easier. you just can't do that on PSN. so for me who plays with a group of friends most evening the nominal fee that MS change is MORE than worth it. as ive said we even use XBL as a means of communication when we play on PSN and just switch TV inputs.

I've decided Cross Game Chat is a terribe feature. Since signing up for xbox live again a few months ago, after a year or so off, most people use cross game chat and DO NOT COMMUNICATE in game. It's terrible.

So in this case more is better because its convenient, doesn't matter how good or useful it is, its more, its better. Talking about more is better I'm not sure but doesn't the PSN have more users? Just asking... This is SW logic, I can say game A on the PS3 as more features than game B on 360 and all of a sudden the logic is "What? More is NOT better!" because its convenient. Necessity is the mother of invention... and sudden logic change to fit convenience and prove a point :D

yeah, and then when it comes to online communities in Resistance/Killzone, you'd be backing off on that statement.

PSN is populated by PSP users there too, being a free service also means more alternate accounts.

I don't get the analogy. Your internet service provider, provides you with an internet connection.

Likewise the comparison to a pay TV that I've seen thrown around. If you pay for HBO, you get to watch HBO content.

Sure Microsoft does the leaderboards, cross game chat etc. and if it was referring to that then there's an analogy.

But the part of LIVE Gold that's being referred to here is access to content that's already part of the retail price you pay to "buy a license to play" the game, via P2P or servers run by the publisher from whom you bought the license.

Although I wouldn't go so far as to call it robbery I guess.

I don't see games with more players or lag less just for start (quite the opposite in fact)

Nag people? It will be a sad day when a user can't post an opinion on GS forums.
I get nagged when people bash the PS3 games with no valid points and i don't tell them to stop nagging people that like those games

I dream of the day when every piece of hardware/software is made by Microsoft, because if today a price tag for a 360 hdd is what it is, when Microsoft owns the world it will be a joyful day, full of awesome gadgets and innovative things... I can barely wait.

If PSN had more users I sure hope they would outsell 360 in multiplat multiplayer games.

It's easy to say the PS3 has over 50 million users when to get one all you have to do is turn on your PS3. I have a PSN account so technically I am a PSN user but I play all my online on the 360. Those PSN numbers are skewed.

Is system wars the trolls playpen? Another one of these threads?

Xbox Live is fun. In order to use it, you must pay. Some people would rather pay. THE END.

Each to their own.

There are too many of these threads since the price increase... it's old now.

I've decided Cross Game Chat is a terribe feature. Since signing up for xbox live again a few months ago, after a year or so off, most people use cross game chat and DO NOT COMMUNICATE in game. It's terrible.

I'm never not in a party. Why talk to strangers when I can shoot the **** with my friends.

Oh I don't know, because when you have 5 of 8 people in CGC and are playing strategic games like Halo, it limits team communication? I'm being dead serious, there's more "odd" ways of communicating in Halo than there should be: Say someone is driving the warthog and you are the gunner, instead of vocally saying where an enemy is, a beep of the horn now means you aren't shooting in the right direction. Getting in a warthog is now shooting at it. Doing something wrong often times results in betrayals.

Game communication in xbox live is a lot different than it used to be.

i really don't get why PS3 users care so deeply about what 360 users spend their money on. would you like a break down of all the other thing i spend my money on each month so you can cast you cynical eye over that too. or are you just trollin?

For 360 gamers it ye ole necessary evil if ya want on line access. Three things are a must in life, , taxes death and XBL fees I guess though a few cents a day aint killing me yet.

I honestly dont mind paying for xbox live. Its been like this since online gaming started for me so its nothing new. Even when I got my PS3 I didnt stop paying for xbox live because i could play for free on that. Xbox live is just a far better overall experience in my opinion. Il stick to exclusives on my ps3 and stick to my 360 for online play.

I think the really important thing about online are the games. Loads of people are trashing Black Ops, but anyone bets against "it will sell like hot cakes like mw1/2"? And when it does people getting it for the 360 had to pay, obviously, for the console, the game and isp, but they will also be having to pay for XBL if they wanna access that MP on Black Ops. And being a COD game, 70~80% of the game value is on MP, in order to get your hands on that you have to pay extra? o_O Not in my world. MS could trow all the functions they want, IMO playing online should be free. Pay for cross game chat, party system and all the Godly superior functions XBL has over PSN (what ever they are, still no one told me why you get less lag on PSN and more players in the games) should be optional. But playing Online plain and simple, that should be free. It makes no sense IMO, is pretty much like paying protection money to the mob so you can have your store up and running after you pay the rent, water and electric bill, plus all the stuff inside that you bought to resell.

Xbox live isn't worth it it's just a easy way to milk the customers.....

the online play should have been free as most games you host yourself.

but psn isn't anny better

they both made gaming more expensive...

now a lot of publishers are milking with dlc and when I mean milking it's dlc that should have been in the game at the start ( but they lock it at release and then ask more money)

good example kane and lynch and mafia 2.

both have dlc within a month of release it's really getting anoying you buy half locked products for a lot of money...... but the mainstream gamers jump at it and buy the crap so developers will only make more of this.....

Nothing, or did I sound otherwise?

o·pin·ion
A belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.
A personal view, attitude, or appraisal. A judgment or estimate of a person or thing with respect to character.

I gave mine, Terms of Use say i can, but since I apparently can't (must be a new rule or something), I'm outta here.

[QUOTE="Kane04"][QUOTE="-Snooze-"](...)Xbox Live is a better experiance then PSN. I'm sure no one is arguing that. It's the value which is the issue. There is no value in Xbox Live, or at the very least not $50 and especially not $60-Snooze-

No.

No Home.

No Youtube upload.

No internet browser.

No living with playstation.

Way less cheaters and screming 14 year olds.

Most games are P2P which tend to lag more and to had more problems like host advantages.

Cleaner and easier interface, much easy to navigate market place.

And the biggest of them all play online free, been able to download from different markets.

This are some of the things i can do on my PS3 that i can't on my 360 and some thing missing on live, where ever people think they are good or not.

Home is much bigger than anything live has to offer including cross game chat.

the honest reason I pay for xbox live...

PSN was hot garbage when the PS3 launched, live was the only decent option... then I bought all my online games and multiplats for the 360 since its where i played online.... now im forced to finish up the lifecycle on live... because it wouldnt be worth the cost and hassle to rebuy all my games for ps3.

But there are also much better online games like halo and gears... which is probably why most folks pay for it... and the service is undeniably still well ahead of PSN. And frankly if i liked halo or gears alot... i would pay the money... i mean over the past 14 years, ive probably been subscribed to a MMO for 10 of them. So im used to paying alot of money to play a single game that i like.

Is because that is no DLC is just part fo the game strip by developer in oder to get even more from buyers.

Live is sad but is even more the wide array of excuses that xbox live user pull to justify those $50,from been better without actually been better,to insinuate that MS need the money, when they had spend a fortune paying developer even for getting maps 1 months earlier,by now the xbox 360 is almost exclusivesless, the only big things it has is Gears, other than that is Halo what they have and bungie will do it no more.
