[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"][QUOTE="edo-tensei"] No you don't pay 1.15$ a week, you pay 60bones or not, simple as that. edo-tensei
if you were to save 1.15 cents a week you would end up with 60 bones...

For xbox only owners yes. Though that's kind of sad actually lol.

....so what your telling me is xbox only owners...are the only ones whom if they save 1.15 cents a week will end up with 60 bones after a year? that some how ps3 only owners don't have the same saving potential? As for that how is it sad? that they can save up money? that millions upon millions of other people do to afford a hobby?

The problem was lint in the ps2? and sony settled out of court over it? wow...Do Lawyers that work for Sony just naturally suck or something?

WilliamRLBaker

Sony has settle its disc read error lawsuit.

From your own link, like i say they were force to fix it and the problem was a disc read error cause by problems with the PS2 laser lent, which by the way the original xbox also suffer dude, and it wasn't even close to the RROD fiasco of MS and it did not sertainly cost Sony 1 billion dollars to fix and who knows if more.

In fact the xbox 360 also had disc read errors as well as the PS3 it happen to pretty much anything that is disc based.

another fanboy that won't provide you with a gamertag? they're the worst kind, pretending to have consoles.

otherwise, he's afraid of being found out for ban-dodging. I think it's a mix of the two. ban-dodger who pretends to have a 360.

That's XBL, the free portion has all those things except online play and party chat? And the PC version of XBL is free. As much as you defend the tag because XBL is well implemented, the fact is the price tag is being unfailry charged in it's current model. online play should be free, they could charge for the extras. And now you'll say "but that way noone would pay!" Well that's exactly why people protest. ArtisTool
Guess what? That's the way business works. If XBL Silver membership included online gaming access, no-one would pay for XBL Gold, and XBL would be a shadow of what it is now. Sorry if you don't like it, but that's the reality.

No its sad that people can save money? or no its sad that only xbox users can save money? I'm confused by you. you do know that millions upon millions upon millions of people save money every day, and for hobbies to boot?

Even though I will likely get suspended or atleast moderated for this, I simply don't care. I'm sick of you saying the ps3 is unhackable, there were never any hacks on the ps3 version and only ever glitches.

the ps3 version as you say of MW2 is unhackable, unmodifiable...ect
Go to youtube.com

search Modern warefare 2 ps3 hacks

first entry is spec ops hack on ps3. posted 9 months ago
2nd is super sprint. posted 3 months ago
3rd is prestige hack. posted 8 months ago

all of them maintain that you hack saved files from your ps3...I.E hacking the ps3. So yes. the ps3 version of MW2 is hackable, I.E running unsigned hacked save files and other things to get affects in games such as super sprint, high jump, laser sight on your weapons...ect

WilliamRLBaker

First of i am not always saying that the PS3 is unhackeable nor i say it was unhackable i say it did not happen.

In fact all of the PS3 MW2 glitch were first done on 360 since in both version the bugs work,in fact the Fuel stage exploit that people can hide on a rock was done on 360 just 2 days after the maps were release, how would i know this.? because there is a video on youtube about the hack posted on June 6,on PS3 the maps did not came out until july a month latter dude.

Also there is a gamescore and gamercard hack on 360 as well, not to mention that the 10 prestige hack was also on 360 and still is after the last patch.

Also that speed hack is you actually saw it affect all players,so unlike Halo 3 auto aim which just the hackers has,on PS3 every one that loby will have super speed so no one really has an advangate over another person, and those are also found on the 360 version dude.

keep 5 things in mind:
1.infinite ammo
2.flaming recon
3.fast reload (watch how ammo auto reloads when not using)
4.time never skips or stops(usually happens when you lag)
5.caboose and I are on two different systems(thats two different videos in this video showing that neither of use were lagging)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfQNoMQJAsY

I just leave it at that.

No one's saying hacks are non-existant on the 360. They exist everywhere.

Except that XBL admins have been pretty vocal and transparent about handing out suspensions and bans to those that they've caught. They're out there letting people know they're watching them.

PSN admins seem pretty silent.

Case in point, MW2's javelin hack. XBL's policy enforcement boss came right out and said they're punishing people they catch. PSN on the other hand, not so much. That's pretty indicative of how each treats cheaters and hackers.

Your PS2 is having trouble reading discs for one of two reasons. Either the lens is filled with dust, or the amount of voltage going to the laser isn't balanced. However, repairing these problems can often cost either money or time, sometimes both. That's why I recommend you starting with the "Quick Fixes for Disc Read Errors" section before anything else. These usually will not fix your machine to the perfect working order that it was when you purchased it, but the Quick Fixes take almost no time and no money.

http://faqs.ign.com/articles/387/387912p1.html

That was the problem the PS2 had and you could even fix it your self, people would just send it to sony because they did not know, even that is sony's fault not balancing
well the lents dude, every one knows by now but you,(if you are not pretending) that the PS2 problem was a lent problem, much like every one knows that the PS1 problem
was over heating and causing FMV's to skeep.

But the xbox also had this problem as well as the PS3 and 360,and the xbox 360 even scratched disc.

The Javalin hack was fixed by Activision which is the one resposible for the game on PSN,it desont' matter if they say it out loud every where still happening and the cheaters don't care, hell i hear a rumor about pirates unbanin their banned units, which would be like the last insult if MS can't stop them.

so people haven't fixed their own 360s before either?

I'm sorry, but these court cases happen when the problem was very large. I mean...I don't know....it must not have been a big deal with a Governmental entity stepped in to require Sony to fix DRE'd PS2s for people. oh right:lol: great logic.

as for self-fixes, sure, and there's guides on Youtube for these Xbox 360 problems too, so that must mean 'there is no problem' correct? wrong. it's still a big problem as was the PS2. maybe not as big as 360, I can agree with that. but it was BIG ENOUGH to CAUSE said GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY TO STEP IN.

THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE THE XBOX 360's EARLY HISTORY AT ALL:lol:

please accept the facts, Sony tried avoiding their own screw-up just as MS had this generation. it can't be refuted, and it's all on paper.

and it happened to my PS2. so you'd be BS'ing the wrong person;)

Rumor? Really? Unsubstantiated, unverifiable rumor? Is that what you're resorting to now.

And yes, Activition/MW were responsible for fixing the glitch. As they should be be. The difference here is that one service chose to do something above and beyond what was expected. The other did nothing.

Where one is providing a service, the other is a lack of service.

 what really?! its by activision the one responsible for it on psn...the one resposible for Modern warefare 2 is its publisher and owner of its creator IW....who is responsible for the 360 version? magical fairies? and not Activision the owner of IW whom made the game, and whom published it on the 360?

*shakes head*

Of course you hear a rumor that hackers some how hack xbox live it self and unban their gamertags and consoles. What next you hear a rumor that all ps3 games are in reality dedicated server? changing the rules every time someone proves you wrong....hmmmm

First it was Ps3 games are never hacked, MW2 ps3 was never hacked, then when your given proof, but I never said that then all of a sudden its but the hacks were created on the 360 first.
Actually your wrong thy were created on the PC first then imported over to the 360 and ps3.
You've all ready been proven dead wrong in your statements that Ps3 mw2 is unhackable which is EXACTLY what you claimed. Proof of youtube videos showing the ps3 version of MW2 with prestige hacks, speed, infinite ammo, super jump...ect

Ps3 games are just as vulnrable as 360 games when it comes to willingness of hackers to hack them, this is a fact, the only thing that hinders this is dedicated servers, and TADA the majority of games on ps3 are p2p *hates that term its client server model not p2p*

WilliamRLBaker

Most games run a hybrid client-server/peer-to-peer model. The host is the server, the other players are clients. But also, clients/peers talk to and with each other to stay synchronized and verify info received from the host/server; this is what makes host migration possible.

"Dedicated server" games are entirely client/server; there is no peer-to-peer component there, and the server runs on its own machine, separate from any client machines.

Most so-called "peer to peer" games are actually client/server, it's just that the server runs on the same box as one of the clients.

The only feature xbox live has other psn IMO is cross game chat and party chat.

PSN has more apps than xbox live such as home and life with playstation.

PSN plus offers discounts and exclusives beta for $50 a yearand demos and all i see on XBL is online play and cross game chat? (every other platform even thepsp and dsdoesn't force their users to pay for online play) for $60.

Some online ps3 games offer dedicated servers and xbox live uses P2P(If the host lag everyone lags it doesn't matter about your connection)

IMO online ps3 exclusive shooters(Resistance, killzone, MAG)offer a larger scope than exclusive xbox shooters(halo gears of war).

Please explain to me im not trying to troll i own a xbox 360 myself but i see no value to pay $60 a year for xbox live. I love playing on PSN and its one of my best online experiences apart from the PC.

Please explain to me the value of xbox live and i might even consider it.

It's jsut better. Thats it. If you want more details, check out this link which is not linked.. ----> www.google.ca

*hates that term its client server model not p2p*

UnnDunn

Most games run a hybrid client-server/peer-to-peer model. The host is the server, the other players are clients. But also, clients/peers talk to and with each other to stay synchronized and verify info received from the host/server; this is what makes host migration possible.

"Dedicated server" games are entirely client/server; there is no peer-to-peer component there, and the server runs on its own machine, separate from any client machines.

Most so-called "peer to peer" games are actually client/server, it's just that the server runs on the same box as one of the clients.

How I have learned it is that, A dedicated server is the server with no home player just a server hosting the information for others. A client server is one with a home player, which all so acts as the server. Before this generation I'd never even heard the term p2p except when cows started using it as a derogatory term against xbox live. I understand how current client server models work, That information is traded for host migration, but I've never liked the term Because I'd never even heard it used before this generation, it seems to have been birthed by cows. Under most professional concerns its still considered a client server model At least from what I've read.

What you call a "client server" is more properly termed a "listen server", which is a server and client in one box.

Rumor?

Eltormo

You know what is not a rumor, why don't you google it i would not sertainly post a link to such sites here, but if very easy to google.

Yes and that stopped live cheater right.? oh wait no it did not,not one is ripping people off and the other is giving player online play wihtout excuses to charge for it.

Good for you. Now we know both consoles are hackable.

MS knows they won't stop all cheaters. Welcome to the internet. But they will punish those who are caught. What is PSN doing other than updating their firmware? Are they talking to the community about it? Are they laying down suspension for people caught? Have they publicly addressed the issue other than releasing the firmware?

Again... one is interfacing directly with the community. One went beyond what the other is doing. That's the differentiator here.

while you might feel that XBL gold is a ripoff, others feel it is a worthwhile service. people like myself, and quite a few others. what i don't understand here is why you would keep coming back to MS is you indeed despise them that much.

i completely understand. what i find hard to believe are the people that continue to pay for live and constantly complain about it, knowing that MS has used a fee-based service since the inception of the original xbox.

Theres nothing wrong with complaing about something when you find it wrong. I can perfectly understand a 360 owner with a decent library of games paying for Live and hating it. Let them complain, you have nothing to loose, with some luck and enough "whiners" and the fee will go down instead of up. Or who knows, maybe it'll go away.

sorry, but i don't buy that. if you really had a problem with it, you wouldn't have bought a 360 in the first place. and i really don't think the fee will ever go away. MS makes a ton off of XBL gold.

You never know and, fact is a lor of people get 360's as gifts, or it's kids who have their parents buy them. And theres always the impulse buy, where you think "oh I don't care I just want to play Halo" but then it starts nagging. You "not buying that" doesn't change this. The majority of consumers are not very educated on their purchases most of the time.

Home sucks. Plus, the $50/year thing for the PS3 is a rip off, and I don't think anyone should try using it as ownage.

certainly a fair argument. but i still think there is always the "buyer beware" motto to that.

The only think i like more about XBL is that they are better compared to ps3 on multiplats. Other than that its almost the same thing.
