Xbox One S Sales Underwhelming so far? UPDATE: It appears not

Why the surprise? It's a new sku, it's nigh-guaranteed to seel very well the first couple of months. Didn't the X1 sell very impressively at launch? The measure of success will be how it sells early-mid year in 2017.

In light of how badly the xbox one was selling inside Europe a year ago these are very Interesting stats for Germany. Xbox slim 15th place PS4 56th place. Remember this includes games and accessories too and xbox slim is more preordered then the PS4 version of Battlefield 1!

What i am noticing is PS4 games are hot items on Amazon Germany and France. But its obvious the slim is selling better then the PS4 right now inside Europe of all places!

That's pretty interesting! It's trending higher here at number 4. Lets see if it can keep this up through the entire month.

Sony biggest market is Europe they said it was a bigger market for them then the United States. I agree its interesting seeing the slim jumping ahead of the PS4 on there. Will it last who knows?

The reason i looked at this i have noticed lot more foreign people are playing Gears of War ultimate recently. You can hear them talking in the lobbies, have not got clue what they saying but its been noticeable the change!

@Shewgenja: I still call BS your retreading theory. First of all, they announced only the 2 TB version was going on sale at first so the people that jumped on it the day it opened up probably all bought the 2TB version.

Buying an external has nothing to do with it really. Why buy an external if you could get the 2TB version in the same price range as buying the 500 and an external?

At this point, its far more likely most of the people buying are people that already own PS4s and want an XBox or 360 owners that waited than X1 owners retreading.

I find it funny how there were 80M+ 360 owners and only what 21M+ X1 owners yet anyone buying a slim now already owns an X1. It's not possible the 80M+ old 360 owners haven't finally decided to upgrade or that PS4 owners are buying the new X1 because they were waiting for the slim to come out.

I actually made this thread at the same time I created the Xbox One DF review. Didn't really see Char's thread until the DF thread got locked. But it's not false bad news. It's not bad news at all. It's selling well, it's just that I expected Amazon to rank it higher in July.

I was wrong this xbone s broke the second power up. I did enjoy halo 7 but I went to sleep and turned off the xbone s and I shouldn't have done that. Thanks Microsoft I lose 600 $ more dollars. Actually it was $50 not $150. Removing the Kinect from 1 skew is not a price drop. It's a new skew minus 1 of the more expensive parts. The Kinect skew was still selling and at $450

The original SKU was $500 and MS went into this gen promising its fanbase that they would not unmarry the Kinect. There is no technicality about it. The cost of entry to the XBox went from $500 to $350. If one were taking MS at face value, there was no way to predict those moves. You cannot blame me for their credibility gap. The onus is not on me to predict that they will abandon their messaging.

No. I got called out in December of that year about a prediction I made right after Titanfall released. In this case, context is literally everything.

Just checked June's rankings and it seems that June is when most of the preorders occurred.

This explains the really low numbers for July. There's verry little chance of the PS4 outselling the Xbox One slim now. This reminds me of the Batman Bundles last year.

They're pretty hard to get in my area, I was able to get one today finally at a stupid Gamestop, because a pre-order there never got picked up and they finally put it out for sale.

Last thing I bought from there was a Wii U controller. In and out. Don't give them any opportunity to ask me about games. I know what's coming out damn it.

That's too bad. My local Gamestops in the Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Canton Michigan areas are great. The staff at every one of those locations is very friendly and knowledgeable. I've talked games with them, hunted Amiibo with them and even waited in line on console release nights with them.

Lucky you. The one in my neighborhood is a mixed bag. I'm the kind of person that goes to a store already know what they want. So sometimes there are people there that just let me do that and don't try to sell me anymore than what I ask for. Then there are those that refuse to let me leave the store without selling me something or getting me to preorder anything. Like at this point everyone should know that there's a new Call of Duty coming.

Xbox One S is a very appealing product, the new tech capability, and overall design. It's still a great upgrade from the base Xbox. I don't think people should ever underestimate the appetite for NOW. That's why we invented credit cards.

Yeah there's one near where I live and another near where I work. They just won't quit about warranties and pre-ordering stuff whenever I go in. Today they had this big display of Mighty No 9 behind the counter so I pointed to it and said "I don't pre-order stuff because sometimes you end up with turds like that" and that got her to quiet down haha!
