The direct quote says games, so until Msoft come out and say "hey, no. No you can't save full games to the cloud" you can.
I plan on downloading all my games with my PS4 and Xbox One, so if I don't have to spend $100 on an external HDD for the two that would be pretty damn cool.
So... Do Lems really believe that Microsoft is going to dedicate 35+ million TB to cloud storage?

i guess you didnt get the memo and that Microsoft is building datacenters and putting um another 10-20 billion into the cloud?   nope guess not, this wont be a problem brah.  think big.

I think you're missing the point. There's no reason to save a full game on 'the cloud', since it's already there by virture of being available digitally. You'd gain nothing by storing your game on the cloud. The only point where there's a benifit here is when we're looking at personalized data (your personal save games, your personal screenshots, video clips of your gameplay.Â

Which, barring a rare case of a mass amount of gameplay clips, is a minimal amount of data. As in, a small investment from MS that does not actually constitute "unlimited storage" as anything more than trying to hype up the feature as something bigger than it is.[QUOTE="R3FURBISHED"]

You wouldn't save your game installs on the cloud, which is what would be a real difference maker. A save file or settings file is rather small -- it would take years to fill up 1 gb with those alone. Install files are what take up the space and you'd never want those on the cloud.[QUOTE="LordOfPoms"][QUOTE="GravityX"]

Sounds like all your data, games included. Cool.

Remember the idea of logging into your friends Xbox One and accessing your games library. This stuff was built into the Xbox One from the beginning. So I think it applies to full games. Of course I could be wrong.
That could potentially be very laggy and an unpleasant experience, but I'll wait for more details. I would imagine you could log in at a friends house and DL the game to their HD because streaming it just doesn't seem like a great option -- not with how certain ISPs work at the moment and throttle high data users. Okay... Then buy games digitally. Its already a supported feature for both consoles. To my knowledge. both consoles allow you to re-download your purchases at any time as well already. Its exactly the same as the concept your propose. All this concept here does is use more data room to do the exact same thing. Which I assure you MS isn't stupid enough to actually do for no gain.

Sounds to me its more about saving Game save data and not actually having a 15GB game saved up on the cloud, currently Sony does that and been doing it for few years via PS+ as you can upload game saves into the cloud without having to worry about losing them on the HDD.
PS4 $399 with 500 removable HDD ( that can be upgraded easily to a cheap 1TB HDD) >>> XboxOne $499 with un-removable HDD's
XboxOne still terrible
can you save audio files?  can you save pictures, movies, media to that cloud on PSN unlimited?  Just wondering.

it probably was the kinect making them laugh in the picture.  the distance of the 3 guys in the middle of table to what they are looking out is about 10 feet.   and the Kinect can recognize a fingertip from that distance.   but seriously NSA?   i dont even give time to that, nobody is watching me through kinect 2.0.  or you, cause you will get the xbox one cause you know its great.

So, you are a moron. How enlightening. There is literally only one difference between the already made method of downloading a game and having a cloud storage for those identical save files... That is that the latter takes up more storage room. Its not like the system can use cloud storage in anyway. The data on there has no ability to be used by the system itself. Its quite literally the same thing as the current method used for distributing games digitally.Bro you make absolutely no sense... Makes no sense at all, if your at your friends house and he doesnt have the game installed on his xb1, you still have to download the game from the cloud, its not going to magically appear on your console instantly... So this is going to function exactly the same way as it does on 360 but without a limit? Â Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the only tangible benefit cloud saves? Â Theoretically you could install a game to the cloud, but then you're stuck with the limitations that carries and streaming games is wholly unsatisfactory. Â Am I missing something? Â Because this doesn't seem like a big deal to me.
If you can store movies and music to the cloud for streaming, that'd be worth something....
