Save files on the cloud? Rly? YOu mean that thing I can do on MY PHONE! Wow... XBOTS really get excited over the simplest things. LOL at people that think they'll store your actual GAME or DLC on the cloud.... and double LOL at people who think that even if that was what they think it is, that it'd be a good thing.

We have to be excited for something, dude! We don't have almost half of our ram allocated to our OS, so what else is there to be excited about?Of course you do, this is no different to how stuff works now it's just a bunch of jargon and mumbo jumbo to make it seem new and exciting. You can already access all of that stuff on someone elses Xbox 360 right now, you just sign into your account and tadaa, there it all is ready to download! The only difference is they'll auto upload all of your local data like saves instead of how it is now where you can choose to do it.i assume you have to download the game before playing it though

[QUOTE="narutosup"]This is the best Xbox one news. Anyone know if they're able to do the same with Xbox 360?rjdofuWell I think you can do with anything now, from smart phone to consoles, as long as there're service providers, there are teh cloudzNot all cloud are the same. Cloud is just servers that send different types of information to the persons system or store information. Not ever cloud is designed to handle the same tasks and not every cloud has the same server power.
[QUOTE="Cyberdot"]So the whole internet dies? How will you lose everything if your internet dies? Unless you just don't understand what this is.And then the Internet connection decides to fvck up and you lose everything.

You lose access to the content saved in the cloud, duh.

Use it as a back up then? Problem solved, saves take up minimal space.Let me get this straight. Do you think that you will store all your games in the cloud and then play them from there without the game being on your HD?i think we were reading the same book but were on completely different pages, because I was talking about digitally downloading all my games and then saving them to where the fvck ever - built in hard drive till that fills up then to the cloud then to...the trees outside wherever.

Sure developers have different use of it, but when it comes to us users, the cloud only serve 1 purpose, storing stuff. Most of the times it's just saves, music, entertainment stuff, etc, this case is probably the same.

But I don't care since I will never purchase their console again.

It will most probably be like the 360, you'll get the option to save on the HDD or the cloud.Use it as a back up then? Problem solved, saves take up minimal space.[QUOTE="soulitane"][QUOTE="Cyberdot"]

To be fair, billion dollar companies rely on MS's cloud services to conduct business. I think it's safe to assume it's good enough for some game saves. Â The electricity to your house probably goes down more often than their cloud does.so pretty much every1 with common sense knew, all cloud can do is save your shit, next gen and only available on Xbone.silversix_Completely wrong! The Cloud will do many great things. Think of The Cloud as The Wizard of Oz with Ninja training. The Cloud will save all humanity.

Even thopugh both Microsoft and Sony's cloud are different neither are for just storage. Here is a good article about it. Watch the video

Now you see the amount of servers that Sony offers is far less then Microsoft. Also what the servers for the two are designed for are made to do different things. Sony's Giakia is more designed to stream games, media, ect and Microsoft's Azura is more designed for managing applications. While the Azure is built for example to relate to consoles to handle textures and enemy AI that is not what Giakia is designed to do.
So why not offer a second model with less storage and for less money? Like 250GB (or even less) for $399, and advertise right on the box "unlimited hard drive space." No...bad idea.
-Karmum-
The hdd in your console will mostly be used for game installs, while the online thing is for save games and game recording videos and things like that.

Not necessary. It is very conceivable most info can be stored on another server consider the amount of servers Microsoft will have.[QUOTE="HalcyonScarlet"][QUOTE="-Karmum-"]

Unless you just play off the cloud like Onlive.

If I can backup my 400 gigglebits of hardcore selfporn and commuNazi doomsday bluprints on the cloud then I... still wouldn't, cause I don't want them to see it.

Thats not the point, you lot make it sound like its something new when it already exist. All this represent is an upgrade to what already exist, also if Microsoft creates a magical kingdom in a floating bubble city called cloud, Sony would match em with Gaikai so i would not be gloating like its something special or advantageous. The GDDR5 vs DDR3 though is different story

The NSA?
Kind of makes you wonder if we "own" anything digital anymore.foxhound_fox
Actually its one of the reasons i am no fan of Microsofts pioneering of this digital future, to them it seem as if a digital future means rental only. Just look at Windows 8
I hope not just one more thing I'll never use but might end up having to pay for.now does sony follow suit??  it looks like Microsoft has been making very good news lately.    Keep up the good will.   dat infinite harddrive and 500gb hDD >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> dat removable ps4 HDD.     cloud never loses.
