This will make game developers lazy and force the game community to complete the development of the game. Look at Bethesda for example, they released so many incomplete games.narutosup
I really hope that doesn't happen.
[QUOTE="Zuzuvela"]This is one of the few things that can make me switch from PS4 to X1 That will be the biggest thing for next gen to me lostrib
just get a PC then if you want to mod things
PC gaming isnt a realistic option for me in terms of practicality If it was possible,I would probably have switched by nowI wouldn't be suprised to see A LOT of texture packs for Minecraft. The difficulty with this is obviously what kind of mods would be allowed, since console games tend to be using all of the resources of a system, mods that demand more performance wouldn't work as well as they do on PC simply because there are gaming PC's with much more horsepower than others.

i doubt we will see any form of graphics mods. Probably reskins and custom levels
[QUOTE="ShaineTheNerd"][QUOTE="Chutebox"] Yup. Which is why it won't mean shit.Chutebox*facepalm* One of the main benefits of PC gaming is mods. I know some console gamers that have switched to PC for this one reason. Cockroach intelligence lowers more and more every day. You should probably realize what I was actually saying before saying stupid shit.Seriously, the ppl who defend X1 are some the biggest morons on the planet. Its no wonder though

Interesting, but Ill believe it when i see it. There were a number of things that MS promised with live before the the 360 came out that never materialized. Regardless, it wont be nearly as robust as the PC mod community, and anyone that that feels modding is that important to them will probably just go to the PC anyway.

This would be awesome if true and would be a HUGE advantage over the ps4. IF microsoft wants to stick it to Sony make this thing offical!
[QUOTE="ShaineTheNerd"][QUOTE="Chutebox"] Had nothing to do with PC mods. I know they're awesome. Point was on consoles the devs won't care and the community won't care.clyde46Why in the hell would someone, say Bethesda, not allow modding on a console game, but allow it on PC? And if consoles allowed modding, why would people buy a gaming PC just for mods, when it could be done on their system? Jealousy is an ugly color, cow. If consoles had mods, why would they buy DLC?
Pretty much this will be the reason that many publishers won't include modding support. Anything that could potentially eat into their bottom line no matter how small is going to be verbotten on consoles.

depends what mods they would allow. I doubt they would allow mods like the skyrim 2k textures, and I don't think they could implement things like ENB/SweetFx

They won't do it because it's consoles and why go through extra work? They had a chance to do this with PS3 and we have seen it once...it's not going to happen.[QUOTE="lostrib"][QUOTE="menes777"]

If more than 4 games have mods i'll be pleasantly surprised. How would this work with MS doing the verification process that developers complain about so much? Then there is the fact that MS forces people to charge for content over Live.
If it is true, then awesome and my hype for the console went up a bit, but something tells me that it won't have the same type of mod support as pc. How would they give consumers the mod toos. My guess would be that mods would be transferrable from the PC to the One kinda like UC3 on PS3, though that was a worthless gesture they gave us.

Microsoft is embracing the same certification process Apple does with the App store, so I think a 14 day turnover. And that was never true that MS force people to charge. Theres plenty of free stuff on XBL.
Sounds like a dream for console gamers even though "mods dont count". "mods ruin the game" and "99% of mods suck" according to them. However I think thats all it will ever turn out to be ...a dream. Keep dreaming console gamers. Remeber the "mods" people made on on LBP? Or the "mods" you made in Forge? Expect somethign like that, if anything at all.

consolites would pay for mods and eat it up
Holyshit, Tormentos is posting something positive about the Xbox One! :P j/k[QUOTE="superclocked"][QUOTE="rjdofu"]Holyshit that would be HUGE!tormentos
Mods are great is impossible to deny that, the PS3 supported mods but only 1 game came and allowed the feature UT 3 which even allowed PC mods to even run on PS3.
I wish sony and MS would support this, but i see it as all talk no substance from both sides, the PS3 already did it,but the whole DLC for money crap kill it,mods will compete directly with DLC which some game houses like EA and many others will not like.
Exactly my thoughts, and that I just don't see MS allowing it.Also, if you think about it, modding could also mean full conversion mods, which means, people could make there own games, I don't think the console makers would like that. as it would probably take away from game sales.i call bullshyt.
ms can barely give up enough control over the system for approved games how the hell does anyone expect them to just let anyone do a game mod?

[QUOTE="tagyhag"]Now that would be VERY cool. Shame no console players will use it because "I'M PLAYING THE GAME THE WAY THE DEV WANTED ME TO PLAY!"lowe0Remember, everyone, if you can't conclusively prove that someone's preference is wrong, just repeat it mockingly. Equally, they can't prove that mods ruin games.

LOL oh boy here we go. That line is used so often to show that mods are not an advantage. It has nothing to do with preference. It's when consolites can't think of any real argument so they resort to that and it means nothing. It's a pointless argument.

Equally, they can't prove that mods ruin games. That would be because it's entirely an individual preference. I can explain that I like authenticity in classic games, but if others want modified versions, my preference doesn't impact that at all.

And we are back to the preferences argument.
