A 7850 can be cooled by a passive cooler and will run games in 1080p on good detail and 8 GB GDDR5 is also lots of fast RAM for a console.

And the 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU may have a bit low individual core performance but it uses modern graphics and physics accelerating instruction sets like AVX, has full multi-threading support and and co-operates with the GPU via gpGPU support.

Would be funny if MS bent under the pressure and pulled a "Sega Saturn" by adding another GPU in there and making Kinect optional.

I hope you realize that by NOT downclocking, Microsoft pretty much handed SONY a 75+% marketshare next gen.

Would you rather the ONE be slightly less powerful and sell just as much as your competitor so 3rd parties will continue developing on your platform, or would you rather keep the pitiful amount of power you already have and live with the bad manufacturing yields?

I think the first good example we'll see of this disparity will be the comparision of Witcher 3.  Considering nothing i've seen is pushing either console yet, and Witcher 3 being the first top tier game in the launch window's.

7790 down clock 200mhz with 2 CU off for yields. end results 1.23 TF lower than the 7770 by a hair.

PS4..

7870 down clock 200mhz with 2 CU off for yields. end result 1.84 TF higher than the 7850 by a few hairs.

Also the PS4 has 8 Aces with 64 compute commands far greater than the xbox one and any GCN for that matter including the 7970,which has 2 Aces and 4 compute commands.

Aces is what allow in order GPU like GCN do out of order executions.

You don't get it the 7850 is a 7870 with lower clock and 4 CU less,it exist to fill a price gap,when the 7870's are made not all come working with 20 CU,some have 18,some have 16,some have 14.

So instead of trowing them away the GPU vendor pack them with different names and sell them,this is a fact is not my opinion you can look it up.

Is easier to disable 2 CU in the 7870 and sell it with 18 than adding 2 CU to the 7850,also it is the exact same thing with the 7790 and the xbox one GPU,the xbox one GPU is say to be 800mhz,bonaire on the 7790 is 1ghz and is 14 CU not 12.
