Y did't people complain about Ps2 graphics but complain about Wii graphics

Clearly the Ps2's graphics weren't as good as the gamecube's and Xbox's, and clearly the Wii's graphics aren't as good as Ps3's or 360's yet people always complain about Wii's graphics.

This wasn't even an argument to defend teh Wii. I was asking a question and I don't know why this got so many replys considering everyone said the same thing, and I would just reply instead of doing an edit that no one would read but then more people would just say the same thing when they see the topic

The diference between the last gen consoles graphics wasn´t as big as the one we see between the Wii and the HD twins,not to mention the PC.

Yes, the gap is much, much wider. That might be why.

I only really complain when Wii graphics aren't up to par with Wii standards. Xenoblade, for example, doesn't look up to par with Xenosaga. That's unforgivable imo.

Because Wii graphics are last gen. The Wii is not much more powerful then the gamecube of PS2. But i could say the same thing about Xbox/PS3 i was playing at 720p and had 256mb ram around year 2002.

Its why there is already an emulator for the wii because the PC CPU's are so far ahead now.

It's funny to see console gamers bash the Wii and then get mad when a hermit bashes an Xbox 360 or PS3.

I remember the people bashing the PS2 version of RE4 because it looked a lot worse.

I remember each generation having their bashing of another console.

It will never end but at least don't be a hypocrite and whine when someone bashes your game system for the very same reason you bash another system.

The Wii is literally a generation behind when it comes to graphics. PS2 was the weakest last gen but the gap isn't nearly as big as Wii to 360/PS3.

As other people said, the difference wasn't nearly as big.

But it is indeedfunny to see how much value Cows attach to graphics all ofa sudden whereas last gen they apparently weren't important.

gamecube graphics were better than PS2 graphics. Maybe its better than the wii. I don't know. But I def know the gamecube games looked better.

PC gaming is already a generation ahead but it will become even more noticeable next year with titles like The Witcher 2.

And since it seems consoles won't get another generation until at least a few years by now it will only get worse.

cuz the PS2 had great graphics for its time and the Wii is a BIG gap from the 360 and playstation 3

You're using SMG as proof that the Wii makes has decent graphics? It looks terrible. Every, and i mean every texture is just a blob of random colour. It may be pleasing to the eye, but RES4 on the Wii is a much better example of it's power.

The difference wasn't as significant. PS2 had by far the best games library last gen.

meh I have a Xbox 360 & Wii.

I dont care about the graphics on the Wii, I didn't buy it for the graphics. in fact I play a lot of VC games on it lol I prefer gameplay.

The graphical difference between the Playstation 2 and the original Xbox (the graphical powerhouse of the three consoles at the time) was much less than the difference between the Wii and Playstation 3.

Well the gap between the Wii and PS3/360 is much larger than the gap between the PS2 and Gamecube/Xbox...plus the PS2 had a massive library with tons of exclusives, 2nd party, and 3rd party games the Wii tends to only have good first party games and severely lacks in other areas so this just adds to the fuel of the fire.

Because the wii still lives in the past i say nintendo has to move on and the 3ds might be at least be the next then after that a wii capable more than the ps3 and 360 and by that time ps4 and the next xbox is out. so if nintendo surprised us next gen with a wii capable of having ps3/360 graphics i wont be surprised but i will buy it because nintendo creates fun systems not all about graphics but i still think they need to surpass the ps3 and 360 next gen with graphics and everything.:Djohny300

Did anyone really battle about graphics at all last gen? I love how this gen we all love to fight over which 360/PS3 multiplats have superior graphics, when in most cases they are nearly identical, or with the slightest differences in resolution.Nerd_Man

yes just as many People were fighting over graphics.

I remember the bit wars with the Sega Genesis vs Super Nintendo.

Because the technical capabilities of the three big systems last year were not nearly as uneven when it comes to the comparison of the grapihc potential of the Wii compared to that of the PS3/360 (who are pretty much on par in my opinion). Probably because all three consoles last gen were geared towars Standard Definition. This gen, the 360 and PS3 both possess the capabilities to display 1080p outputs on HD TV's, while the Wii is stuck with outdates, standard technology.

I personally hate the arguement, because I believe that the Wii has some of the most artistically beautiful games released this gen (Okami, SMG 2, Sin and Punishment etc.)
