[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="ThePlothole"]Even the weakest DRM still takes away my second sale right. And anything that relies on a remote server verification will stop working if that server is ever shut down.ThePlothole
Two points; They could add some kind of internal verification in patch form if the servers were to go down. Also, here is something many people who bash DRM don't realize; You can call the company and have them reset the DRM count before you resale it. One simple phone call saves you from resale hell. :)

They could, but there's no guarantee that they will. Why should we be hassled at all with something that has never managed to do what it was supposed to? (DRM does NOT stop piracy!)

I didn't say DRM was a good thing. By principle, I think it is an insult to the average consumer. But at the same time, the nuisance of DRM is greatly exaggerated, and you can still resell stuff.

I probably play more games on my pc these days too, I have been putting a lot of time into dragon age and just replayed Crysis after watching some of its sequels footage. I still like my consoles though, the odd system update is better than driver updates for the time being (although touch wood my pc gaming has been super smooth with no probs this year).

Yes. +1. Even Ubi's online at all times DRM has failed to trouble me, and I played AC2 for a good 35-40 hours.

I consider myself a PC gamer, but you do you realize that you can get Portal on consoles too, right?

Sure but the amount of free maps for the pc version of portal is amazing
