Union Award Show Renaissance *Voting Thread Open!*

I'm not sure if the one I remember is the same one fastest was apart of or not. But the one I remember was conducted in OT pretty much the same way the OTcars are done.

There were a bunch of categories and people would nominate 1 union per category. Those nominations were tallied and the top 5 in each category made the final ballot. Then people would choose 1 union out of the 5 and the union with the most votes would win.

Your welcome, i agree that there's not enough people who know about this yet. It's good to know union awards are coming back, it makes the environment much more competitive.

Perhaps. lol :P Since everything is set up here, we will be hosting this year's Union Awards. Next year however we'll see about how to host this since, cause I like the idea of there being a different union to host the event every year. If it moved around each year, then it would be pretty cool I think. The host would have to be a pretty big union though...julian_jr

For some reason, I thought we deleted the 2006 awards thread. I did find it though. I am glad to see such enthusiasm from you all to put this thing together. I would ask that you not do something similar to the 2007 edition, but do something even better. Realize that it is a lot of work and not everybody will understand all of the effort and hard work you put into this. Julian, if you need information on previous award shows, I can help you with that. Depending on how well you pull this off, I can try to give you a spot on one of the main boards. Once you have fleshed this idea out more, PM me.chicknfeet

I'm currently the leader of The Batcave: The Everything Batman & BAA union as well as the God of War Union. And i would personally like to help out by spreading the word and raising awareness throughout the unions that i'mm affiliated with as well as personally to my friends as well on GS and throughout the community.

This would be a cool thing to have.

To everyone: Spread the word even more! People are starting to hear about this, but there's still tons of unions out there that have no idea about this and need to be informed. If you can, either post a blog, or if you know some union leaders out there who you think don't know about this event, PM them about this. julian_jr

Forgot to say that the awards have never been official. Always unofficial. Also realize that whichever way you decide to do the awards, there will be people talking crap. So just make sure you have your thick skin on. ;)chicknfeet

Union awards...kinda missed those. Gave a union precidence over others, plus created many memorable rivalries amongst unions.

Yea...I'm game, count me on this endeavor.

Uh call me simple and lazy but whats wrong with just lets say an image for each part and a spoiler tag and be like "Check the spoiler tag for winners" fastesttruck

So I guess this'll be like a Peoples Choice Awards? With acts, Winners speeches etc...

a lot has happened to this F since then that has made it forget things over time. all I really did was counting. Tho imo all that talk show stuff or whatever it was was a bit long. As in I know I didn't bother to read any of it b/c of how long it was. As O Magic (lol funny name if we start calling him O Magic One >_: ) said about people sending telegrams out going "Vote for us! OMG" was a major issue. So I'd say that for votes to count at least 75% of it needs to be filled out or however the % works out. And that one person can't vote for the same union more than twice. fastesttruck

hmm this kinda gave me a idea.. why can't we vote top 3? 1= three points 2= two points 3= one point then sum it all up for result? so it would be hard to rigged for any union who got lots of members?

if union with leader and officer really only care about winning just kick them off the poll? or is it too harsh?

Hmm... That would be extremely hard, but would work. We can't kick people out for doing that, everyone wants to win, a lot of unions out there are mobilizing right now due to this I've noticed. It's bringing activity back. julian_jr

I don't see it as must win :s it just for fun which people should enjoy it and voting. mine reason was doing this to help union's active and gamespot really..but sure let them have some fun as long they shouldn't try to cheat to win :/
