One of my friends is obsessed with Linux, so i know some stuff. And trust me, it's not for gaming. For people who aren't PC gamers, it can be good. Though you'll have to find alternatives for most of the applications you use, since most of them won't run. As for games, Linux can't even run DirectX, only OpenGl. There's an application called Wine that kind of emulates the games on Linux. But of course you'll run into problems, some games won't even run, and the performance will definitely drop compared to Windows.

Mine died in around July of that same year. Well, it didn't exactly die, it just slowed down a lot and wouldn't connect to the internet, so we totally reset it. At that time I barely, if ever, went online, so it couldn't have been a virus or anything. I think some data sorting thing shut down for some reason. :|

really? what modifications? But even if it works, i don`t really see the point! it`s like emulating PS2 games on the PC while you do have a PS2! However, i agree that Linux is great for programmers..

Ditto. Nostalgia with games makes sense, old games can still be fun. With computers it's ridiculous, the newer ones are better in most every way. Macs excluded here, no one should be discriminated against for not buying three new computers a year. :P Apple once had a short-lived advertising campaign that said "Windows needs lots of online updates, Macs don't. Why? Macs are made better." It died quickly enough. :P

too many to specify. i rewrote the way it runs, changed the interface, added extra protection crap, added... fun stuff (i guess that term works).

but its better than playing ps2 games on the PC. its like making a super PS2 instead

I need the 64 bit to use my 4 GB RAM currently as I can only do 3.25 with 32 bit, and my PC can hold up to 8GB RAM.

And harry, it turns out that The Witcher EE works better in 32bit than 64 bit Windows 7, I checked here.

Strangely, the original version works well in 64bit.:|

And harry, it turns out that The Witcher EE works better in 32bit than 64 bit Windows 7, I checked here.

It's not a sequel, it's an updated version, the sequel comes out in May 2011, and according to the link, it doesn't work properly even if you had 2+GB RAM, but 4GB RAM and more would help.

Haha, right now, I'm going to study at the city's most prestigious tech institute, and since my average is almost flawless, they're going to ask for a scholarship. I have 100 in most of my clas ses too, but in those that I get 98 or something are what give me the final 99 average.

Honestly, not even more RAM would help, the game just isn't fully functional with Windows 7 64 bit while it's fine on 32bit.

I have XP on the other PC like I said a while back.D= It's not my PC anymore though even though I brought it, it's for my brothers, the custom built one I'm using has Vista and soon Windows 7 will take it's place.
