It's a shame to see a "BCS worthy" team that struggled against UH go to the Orange Bowl (to most likely get killed by Va. Tech) while Boise St. has been left with a trip to the Poinsettia Bowl (but hey, who knows; maybe the Broncos might not be a match for TCU).

spfx30

I don't think Boise State belongs in a BCS bowl, they are fine where they are. Their schedule was beyond weak imo, and TCU should give them a helluva game. TCU should be in Utah's positon, if they hadn't choked against the Utes(which I still can't believe happened). TCU's other loss to OU is obviosuly excusable. I don't mean to offend anyone but Cincy deserves to be there way more than Boise. I think Boise should be happy to be in arguably the best non-BCS bowl, props to the Poinsettia Bowl btw for getting these 2 teams.

I hope that's not the case. TCU will be the biggest challenge this year. Here's a lot of IFs though. IF Boise beats TCU and UTexas beats OSU by a lot, I think there will be some discussions about how Boise got left out. Here is a funny stat, if Utah losses to 'Bama and Boise beats TCU, Boise will be the only undefeated team in FBS, again. Remember, it's a lot of IFs and Boise dominates a weak conference. Still fun to look at though.

So, the Broncos are unworthy merely because of a weak schedule? And Cincy is worthy because they can't comfortably defeat a young Hawaii team? Dude.

That isn't saying much. I don't think the Big East or the ACC deserved an automatic bid into the BCS this year. Those two conferences are why I think they need to drop that whole concept from the system. That and taking a max of 2 teams from the same conference.

Wake leads 22-19. Great game after it looked like navy would pull away. Damn these ACC teams are so inconsistent.

Both teams played great. You have to give credit to Wake for comingback to win it by 10.

I wouldn't say Navy quit. Wake figured out how to defend the option in the second half. And Wake remembered that they can actually pass the ball...

Riley Skinner had a 100% completion throwing it 11 times today.

Stupid bulldogs. Way to make the WAC look even worse. Stick to baseball, at least you can win championships in that sport (not just national, but WAC also). Of course Boise doesn't have baseball. Coincidence?

I don't know if he's going to be OK, legs aren't supposed to bend like that.  If you all remember Tyrone Prothro of Alabama, he's had countless surgeries and still walks with a limp after his injury against Florida.  I wish him all the luck because he had a future ahead of him.

  Is this what losing feels like.  I haven't felt like this in a year (literally, Boise lost to ECU exactly a year ago).  If you win your bowl game you can at least live off of that.  If you lose your bowl, you don't have a next week to make this lose feel better.  Well it was still a good year.  Future looks good.  Maybe preseason top 25?  I am just glad it wasn't a blowout.  As for us not belonging?  Belonging to what?  A BCS game?  What?

As for the rest of the bowl season, let's hope some of these other games are just as good.  And I hope the next couple of months go by quick.  I really need baseball to get here, so I can move on.

Great start for the SEC tonight with Vandy and LSU upsetting two ACC teams. LSU really shut down GT and their option and Jordan Jefferson looked good running the offense.

I guess they win the final conference battles.

I'm just sad that my Arizona State Sun Devils had nothing to do with that record.

Sorry, the only impressive win was Oregon.  USC was expected to win easy, Pitt is in the Big East, BYU is still a MWC school, and Miami is in the ACC.

1. I was told by family members (Michigan State and Michigan fans) that Javon Ringer would run circles around UGA's D. Yeah, ha. He's not bad, but unworthy of all the hype. Georgia now 7-0 against the Big Ten in bowl games.

2. Was there really conclusive evidence to overturn the fumble call late in the Clemson/Nebraska game?

3. Spurrier.. just give up on South Carolina. They're mediocre, and they always will be.

4. I am never again going to allow myself to believe that the Big Ten has a shot at winning an away game against USC. But then again, I told myself last year never to pick Georgia Tech again in a bowl.. and look what I did.

So a couple of things:

I was at the Rose Bowl, so I don't know what was said during the game by any commentators so I won't try to comment on them. As for the network "hyping" the game, I don't think they were hyping it up. I believe they were advertising more than hyping. They never said this will be the greatest game or match up ever. They just kept saying "It's the granddaddy of them all." Which it technically is. It made all these other bowls possible (i.e. the other bowls are it's off spring or it's been around longer than any other bowl) Keep in mind I don't know what was said right before the game and during. Moving on. I loved the fly over of the B-2. I know it's suppose to be stealthy, but I didn't know it was so quiet. I have seen fly overs by other planes and those are always loud, so I guess I assumed it would be the same, wrong. If you ever get a chance to see one fly, enjoy. As for Coach Pete's comments after the game, he was totally not thinking. He said, "...no team can beat us this year." I believe USC lost to Oregon State. He is not the only person in SoCal to want to forget. This might be hard to explain so bare with me. In the official game program it talks about the road to the Rose Bowl for each team. Each game had a full page synopsis. Each synopsis was followed by a full page ad. (If you have the program open: left page synopsis, right page ad). This formula stays the same way until you get to the USC/Oregon State game. When it goes USC/Ohio St. and then USC/OreSt. No full ad between these two games (It's much easier to show in person, sorry). I was just glancing throught the program and totally missed the USC/OreSt game the first time. Sometimes SoCal people can get so cocky. Last thing about the game. My dad and I wore some BSU stuff, my uncle wore some OreSt stuff, my friend wore a Penn St. hat and a Texas t-shirt. You guys should have seen some of the looks we got. All in all it was fun (going to the game is so much better than watching it on tv). My condolence to spfx, at least the season turned out better than expected.

As for the rest of the bowl stuff. The PAC-10 5-0. Give them a cookie. Their conference sent good teams to bowl games this year. Each team faced a different conference and won. I don't like the arguement "they didn't play the best teams." 3 out of 5 teams were ranked lower than their opponents (favored is a different story) I believe this bowl season has shown that the current system doesn't work (as if the regular season didn't). I am going to just stop there with that (we can debate that during the off season). Was it me or was the Orange Bowl kinda empty? I got home in the second half so I am not sure. Was the first half any good?

Oh yeah, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! :D

GamerForca

1. Anyone claiming Ringer was anything more than an "okay" running back is full of it, and doesn't know college football.

2. Didn't see the game, so I don't know.

3. I agree.

4. I would absolutely love to see USC take on a Big Ten school in the midwest in January. I guarantee the outcome of the game would be reversed. Why do you think they always play Notre Dame at home in November, but in South Bend in October? Coincidence? Not a chance.

At this point, I wouldn't even be suprised if the media came close to voting USC #1.

Ya they will probably give USC the title and won't care what happens in the title game. I wouldn't be surprised if it ever happened

And also I didn't see Lee Corso at the game...was he there and I missed him cuz he always has a love crush on freakiin USC.
