Union Suggestions

Well, the voting for the Union Awards has started.  Please vote for us in the Best Leadership.  Here's the URL:

Rank 1- Undead Legionnary Rank 2- Harpy Rank 3- Gorgon Rank 4- Wraith Rank 5- Minotaur Rank 6- Centaur Rank 7- Cyclope Rank 8- Hydra Rank 9- Minotaur boss Rank 10- Ares Rank 11- God of War We got these ranks.. Please suggest how would and what conditions should be there when a member jumps to Rank-2 from Rank-1.lvlUNE3B

Not sure how it would be implemented as I have said once before...Though it would have to be balanced yet intricate to suit my tastes...simple would be fine I suppose..either way we should decide here what the way to achieve the ranks would be.

~As interesting as the prospect of making the method to ranking up to the upper levels secret might be to me...I'm not sure if any of you would want this *might be annoying to other members* or how we would organize the information between us (maybe just the ranking system creator knows and bases it on good merit and the likes) 

Alright we'll discuss it when Steve comes or the arrikot comes. I had a new and similar idea. Why don't Officers had some minor/major duties? Like, Two Officers should contribute only with Graphics (tags,tabs,sigs,banners, and everything related to image formation) And an Officer whose duty is to find news(the-creeper gmv). Etc. The Leader had to Co-ordinate things. And finally, Some emblems like Informer/News maker, Artist, Promo (Promotes the union by inviting members), Helper (who helps regularly members at Helpdesk Of TUGOWU), etc You can re-name the emblems I suggested. Also, those emblems should & would look like [OFFCR], [LEADER]. lvlUNE3B

That's IS an interesting idea...thus creating officer classes

Suggestions for myself:

Major: Informer/News *good call lvlUNE3B*

Minor: Graphics (small things like Concepts/Renders finding *Art Gallery*) 

~I still laugh at the fact that I'm stuck with this name when I should be GodModeGOD or at the very least Big VEE...the-creeper sounds like the perfect name for an informant (amusing)

---Tyrant has a point however curlfro is just one man *it would be unfair for the more visible users to be the ones getting ranked up since he didn't notice another equally deserving one*.   I don't think any ONE person can take that role in its entirity so I suggest something similiar to member recomendations...quick example:

(assuming this concerns all members)

A member may only recommend (Rec) said user once per day

Rank 1-2: Vote counts as 1 points towards total rank (1 Rec per day)

Rank 3-5: Vote counts as 3 point towards total rank (2 Rec per day)

Rank 6-10: Vote counts as 5 points towards total rank (2 Rec per day)

Highest Rank: Vote counts as 10 points towards total rank (1 Rec per day)

--extras--

Officer:  May Rec 1 more than others of the same rank

Leader:   May Rec 2 more than others of the same rank

--contests--

small sum of points in contests or participation in TUGOWU affairs

Witty Caption, Anagram, etc. (small points bonus per win...may multiply depending on victories IN A ROW)

Ex: Win Witty Caption (10points) win it twice in a row (10x1.5 rounded up for 15points) a third time in a row (10x2 rounded up for 20points)..say they lose next then win (back to 10)

-it needs balancing and point management to be sure

Ex2: Anagram prize plus small sum of points (2) with the "in-a-row multiplier"

Can you list a name for classes ? (make two names) I'll show what they do Class 1 is for Leader & Class 2 is for Officers/Recruits (who had been Officers) and class 3 refers for recruits. Class 1:Objectives: Co-ordinates board/union & make it neat & clean. (One emblem) Class 2:Objectives: Inform union with every update of God Of War. (two emblems) Class 2:Objectives: Make good graphics designs for TUGOWU (tags/sigs/banners/avatars etc). (two emblems) Class 1/2/3:Objectives: Help members about God Of War in our TUGOWU Helpdesk (three emblems). Class 1/2/3:Objectives: Posts a lot at TUGOWU board. (Only three emblems) Simple Rule: The more active you are the more chances of getting emblem. No. of emblems might increase as no. of members in TUGOWU increases. How it works? Based on your activity on required Objectives. I am going to make a background for Class 1,2 & 3. Please when you make a name.. make a word with which spell short.lvlUNE3B

Well..I'll try Greek influenced first then another more common type:

Class 1=The God King/King of the Gods/King of all Gods *"Zeus" wouldn't due...*

Class 2=Pantheon (category/classification denoting the most honored persons of a group)

             Olympians (12 gods could be figured into 11 officers and the leader?)

Class 3=Hellenes *term for modern/ancient Greek people*

             Spartans *respectable title to say the least*

Spartan influenced *one problem would be that Spartans had TWO kings...*

Class 1=King *curlfro and lvlUNE3B would suit this role if thought was taken on the matter*

Class 2=Ephors ("one who oversees" Supervisor..normally only 5 at a time)

Class 3=Spartiates/Spartans (would be a lovely name)

             Helots (the definition is insulting though..)

OR perhaps a slight change of view

Class 1=King

Class 2=Spartan

Class 3=Periokoi

             Helot

I think Zenodoros could be helpful with the naming of these classes (He might prefer the exact names used such as "lakedaemon"

More info on Spartan system *not Wikipedia* THIS could be used for our rank system if we decide to go with a purely spartan set-up in place of using God of War beasts leading to GoW.

Hurt/Heal confused me so I never got into it...not surprised the Anagram isn't going anywhere now since I'm one of the few who would be willing to rack my brain over just one post (regardless of the prize).

I think I understand what you mean now..but you'll need to chose color meaning as it isn't my speciality..at least I will be able to aid MUCH more effectively with more of your total vision revealed to me.  Only then will I be able to really make useful suggestions/comments.

Well, I have read all of the posts about the emblems, and it appears that it could get very complicated. We really need every Officer to pitch in and help out trying to get this emblem thing to work. We would have to lebel every Officer with a certain task, which might anger some people who, say, were chosen to do something they do not like to do. Like, if I were an Officer, I would hate to not be able to make art for the union, as I enjoy using Photoshop. Also, it seems that being an Officer who just recruits people would get bored after a while, and may even demote himself so that they don't have to recruite people anymore. This could be a problem. Now after saying that, I think that this emblem idea could work, if instead they were more as terms of enderment instead of jobs. Like, say, someone who is good at art would get an art emblem, or something like that. Now, this doesn't mean that the person can now only contribute artwork, but instead shows that they are skilled at making it. Or someone who posts information often would get a news emblem, but this would just show that they care about sharing their knowledge with the rest of the union, instead of being able to only contribute news to the union. Please tell me how you guys feel about this.curlfro

That is how I would implement this.  Sort of like credentials showing who does what in the Union well (helps others figure out who would be best to contact in a given situation based on these ranks...at least concerning the officers)

We will DEFINATELY need the assistance of other members/officers if we are to see this task completed (or a whole lot of work between the three of us)

I know see your point...I had forgotten about thievery as it never crosses my mind.  I'd hate to have our work soften the load for other less dedicated unions at the same time I'd be proud to say it came from us *but who really gets recognition for the work done on the internet anyway* but proof impossible.

Alright, Instead of Union Designer I'll prefer TUGOWU Designer. Also tell me about uniqueness of emblem. I mean Union leader should only go to Leader but how many emblems (let say Union Poster) should we give to members when he's able to fill the requirement. (unlimited or 3 emblems only).

Remember...I have each of the gods faces on photobucket (some are already small)..I've used the large versions for TUGOWU Art Gallery

I'll make multiple suggestions (some assume the user won't need to identify with the gender of the charcter in the emblem)

1.) TUGOWU Leader  (1 emblem) - Zeus/Kratos
2.) TUGOWU Co-Leader  (1 emblem) - Kratos/Athena/Zeus
3.) TUOGWU Reporter  (Only one emblem) - Oracle/Harpy/Ares
4.) TUGOWU Designer  ( 4 emblems ) - The Architect/Kratos' Wife 
5.) TUGOWU Assistant (2 emblems) - Gravedigger/Souls of Hades *PM me for pics*
6.) TUGOWU Poster (6 emblems) - Boat Captain/Various gods who helped us

Is it at all possible to make it a .gif ?  If so I would make them squared with the word/title flashing on/off *in and out of visibility* so it doesn't have to cover the emblem or get covered

As for shiny animation, I would be glad to see it but can you show any thing in that type of animation. We need to end this project ASAP. IMO, Emblem shouid be square and only has the picture but rendered with background (Red instead of yellow because it matches our union theme.) I'll try to imrove edges of emblem so that it would look unique.lvlUNE3B

You can find a similiar example to what I was saying in the thread support tag you currently have (not how it pans into the picture but how it covers the background before disappearing into it....then just use a reverse affect for making it reappear...then loop)

Understandable...simplicity works best (for the sake of efficiency).

I'd be fine with those choices for emblem representitives (faces)

Anyone here good at making renders? I can get about five Kratos renders in a heart-beat, but that's about it. (It's going to be incredibly difficult to find a good Boat Captian picture.curlfro

edit: Submit me atleast two images of that character (if available in case of Grave digger).I'll choose Hades instead of boat captian for TUWGOU poster. I'll render their heads (lol I am going to cut their heads lol) then send all officers choose between two emblems of a subject(let say Leader emblem).

I Ilked it but if text had to be used for all emblems then we should use side looks of respected render. I'll check the-creeper gallery for zeus & more pictures. Also, save the emblem in .gif form it will still has it's transparency.lvlUNE3B
