Jimmy Fallon: Our first guest tonight, he is both an actor and one of those faces you may see popping up on Monday and Friday nights in the WOTU. If you see him at your door late at night, I suggest you be ready to go to war!-He has a taste for women, free form jazz, and long walks on the beach.
Recently you may notice he has one massive sized gold thing on his shoulder, that is not a massive penny. He is one half of the newly crowned Tag Team Champions! He is Icon! *Entering to a strong audience reaction

*Shaking hands with some people in the front row and all smiles and I give a shout out to the live band and copy Heath Slater's air guitar, laughing and joking*
*Greeting Jimmy * as he checks out the title* Jimmy Fallon: Can I hold that thing? I mean are they really have as heavy as they look?
Me: Go on ahead man *Smirk and passes him the title*
Jimmy Fallon: Wow! This thing is heavier than a little TV! *Taps on it* and that's real gold on there right!
Me: Yessir! Los Icons only carries real gold, I told my partner Metal though that we've gotta get these titles customized though. French and Pink when they had them drew France's flag on them.That's outdated now because Los Icons are the champs, and between the two of us we don't speak a lick of French. Omelette Du fromage is all I know, and that's just from watching Dexter's Laboratory man (laughs)
Jimmy Fallon: I know how to say whiskey please! Does that count?
Me: Hey now, in the right spot of France that's all you need to know to have a great weekend!
Jimmy Fallon: Speaking of your tag team partner where is he? wasn't he supposed to be here too?
Me: See we had some real bad difficulties getting here man....
Jimmy Fallon: Isn't driving the worst this time of year? all the soccer moms and grandmas doing their holiday shopping 5 days in advance! "Tommy! was it Sears or HH Gregg that had the motorized couch for $5 off if you buy $10 of ice cream?!"
Me: (Smirks) True, and the shoppers this time are crazy! I could rattle off a hundred stories, but that isn't it man. We hit some detours, everyone know Metal loves his tacos and when we were driving in the outlet had 3 Taco places all in a row.
He couldn't take it any more, Metal with temptation is like a bull in a china shop! he said he'd be a little late and that was that. That's why i do the driving for the team. Cause Metal's like a speed ranger especially if he knows a place has good Mexican food, and especially if sees there aren't any cops around.
I lost count of how many times he tried to race the taco trucks, let alone cut them off on the freeway. His license got revoked in 2009 for that very reason!
Jimmy Fallon: If I would've know I would've had catering put some out in front of the door! well, we'll get into it and those places close at 8 so he may be joining us! Anyways, Icon we all have see you playing this almost anti hero role lately. And you've quite the persona you play. Care to shed some light to your character
Me: (Chuckles) Yeah man basically with this Icon character he's the type of person who I really tried to blur the lines with on purpose, he's someone who lives for that thrill of the hunt. He'll do stuff like rob you then come back and sell you your money back for more than he stole.... someone who makes extra money off robbing people like the rich... He's got a code he holds himself too he prides himself on.
He's almost like a twisted version of robin hood, like robin hood straight out the hood you know? in the sense that he'll give money to people with less. He's got this code he holds himself to that almost defines who Icon is, He really only goes after people who are corrupt or try to cause harm to him or the people he cares about.
I mean with that character I wanted to take traits that would make people think a little bit, good and evil is classic and that's how it's usually done in the movies or TV Shows.That's been done though, I wanted to make people think on who exactly their watching on the big screen. Is he what you'd call good? I can't really answer that.... it's up to you, you know?
He's a very likable evil, but fact is, he still hurts people for money. While he may not directly hurt "civilians", he still contributes to the atmosphere of crime and urban decay that either sucks civilians into the "game" or gets them caught in the crossfire. Kids in the neighborhood look to him as a hero and a role model , when they really, really shouldn't. Not to say he's not awesome and entertaining as hell; I love the character too.
But I don't have any illusions as to what he is.The only difference in the two kinds of jackals is one sits in the shadow and says "I'm a jackal"... and the other sits in the light and says "I'm a kitten". And with Icon he's basically someone who revels in the dark, chaotic truths of the world. A product of the game, of his surroundings. What he grew up knowing
I think sometimes I have to cross the lines a bit when I play his character, People don't really realize how dark the state of mind one has to be in to portray a character like I am, I was in a real dark state of mind when his character began, I just identified with him on alot of different levels, just the darkness of his mind-set and not really caring about much.
Part of it really is me just on a bigger stage, I really did come up through the hood, I've been all around that. All around corner boys, fiends you name it I've been in that world.That really is me, so I feel it's a pretty awesome thing to bring life and humanity to a character that society would deem as undesirable.
Jimmy Fallon: I really do enjoy the character! Honestly it seems almost like it was built for you to play, like you watch it and think there's really nothing else out there like it. Did you being into acting influence your choice to get involved in the WOTU?
Me: Absolutely! I' ve always loved the arts, when you get into the business there are those who do it because they want to become a star and those who do it just because it gives them somewhere to express themselves and play who they are in real life with the volume turned up , it' s something they love. I love the craft even the parts or the lifestyle that aren' t glitz and glam, that aren' t sexy. you know? I love the craft
rehearsing a promo, the preparation that goes into it. Entertainment as a whole i' ve just always loved the arts. The fame that came with it was just like the cherry on top for me, being an A- list celebrity wasn' t even on my radar. This was just something i love and thought i could be good at, so it took off from there and i never look back. I can' t speak for the man but knowing him as well as i do, i' d bet Metal felt the same way, that same committment to wrestling
Jimmy Fallon : This is probably tough question but through all your career what has been your favorite moment?
Me: That is tough... probably Los Icons slammy acceptance speech when we won tag team of the year in 2011, I think that was the night Los Icons stepped out the shadows and really showed the world who we are. Just wait we' ll win tag team of 2012 too (Laughs)
Shout out to the time we stood in the ring and called out any and every tag team in the back out. That was us trying to bring the tag team scene back to mainstream. Make it cool again, and we'll do the same exact thing this time.
ROH? they call themselves that right? See I always took that to mean Roll over Honey. As in when you want a woman whose big boned to get off the TV remote or something. They're always whining about respect, we beat Legen and Jedi in the past and we'll do it again. Same faces, different name is all. They can still have the smackdown layed upon themselves if they so desire.
Same with Creme De La Creme, we just beat them and we'll do it again at the Royal Rumble. They can't hang with a true tag team since pretty much day one here!
Static and Lastride? same story, you guys want some. Speak up, we'll make ya famous but if you come at the kings. You best not miss!
Jimmy Fallon: And before Los Icons, Drew McIntyre was actually on the show and said you guys were teaming on house shows, have you ever toured his home country?
Me: I' ve been to Scotland!
Jimmy Fallon:You have? Where?
Me: i don' t remember i was quite drunk then (Huge smirk)
Jimmy Fallon: I' ve also been drunk in Scotland! We' ve probably hung out there many times without realizing! I probably waved ya into the bar!
Me: Man there were 3 things i loved about it there, the women... we' re Tv-17 right? Well maybe i better skip to two ahem.... the weather was something else, it rained snowed, hailed and sunshinein about 20 minutes and you dont have to look for good wine! it finds you! (Laughs)
If Scotland was something, Los Icon's tour of Cape Town was something else. Metal got kicked out of that pool hall for a reason! I digress though we became legends that day!
Jimmy: And something I' ve always wanted to ask can you menace me with the whole wrestler stare thing they do? or do you wanna take a break from that and i menace you?
Me: Yeah that one!
