Gears or Halo 3?

Halo 3 is way better imo. I thought GeoW was one of the most overrated games ever.BioShockOwnz

So did I. I didn't even enjoy the sp that much, i like the more open environments in halo 3 and i don't think gears has a good story ether, not that i buy a fps for its story. I don't know about you guys but i can spend hours in the theater mode alone.

u can tell a gears fan over a halo fan because u must be japanese to prefer ambiguous rainbow coloured aliens(much like pokemon) over a gritty, noire-style shooter

I'm not Japanese and i personally think the gritty look is boring. the weather doesn't always have to be cloudy and dark for a wazone.....take brothers in arms HH for example, its set in WW2 yet its got alot more colour than gears. Whats stopping the weather being sunny in a warzone? Maybe smoke but thats not gonna completely darken the sky.

still online Halo3 is just an average Multiplayer shooter. I like those shooters but it brings nothing new IMO (skillbased matchmakingput aside)

yeah well that has nothing to do with the gameplay, thats up to the players. I still use cover and get most of the kills tat way.

Halo 3 is prehaps more fun and quality, which rocks and have been playing alot since i got, but i went back to GOW and realised what a badass game GOW really is and especially with it being the first in series made or 3rd person shooter.

The reason why i didn't pick halo is, because it would be too easy, since most people voted it and GOW is more bloody and violent than ever with incredible gore especially with that chainsaw on your gun lol. My decison is GOW and personally id say despite halo 3 i still think that is the best well new type of NEXT-GEN game ever made.

Hmm. Shooting with a crappy purple 'blaster' against some small triangle units VS. using the mthrfckng chainsaw on some bad-ass mofo's. Halo 3 is just another FPS, with GOW being somewhat new. It's possible that the multiplayer of halo 3 is more durable, but who likes to bunny hop the whole time? Marcus just pwnz teh master chief. GOW FTW>

I'd have to say Halo 3 because it's multiplayer is like 500x better than GoW and the story for GoW is pretty crappy too.

ok i loved gears multiplayer. halo multiplayer was good too and campain was awsome. but it took less multiplayer skill in halo. i mean aim at thier head will get you like 5 killes every death! with gears you jump to the side, fire, backstep, i could go on...

and the weapons in halo are pretty much the same they just vary from humen wep to alien wep.

and when you die in gears you do not just fall down... you can just explode.

although the gears storyline was bad, it was realistic in term of stratagy. flank, duck,roll from cover, and a lot of other stuffthat really helps you.

now in halo the multiplayer was good and campain was awsome. although you could only invite friends to co op, it was good.

less skill was needed in match making and only friends could come to custom. a lot of really bad games in matchmaking. and i hated how snipers would take a couple hits to kill.

i love both, but halo 3 should have alot of gore like gears does

Host advantage, blind fire shotgun, boomshot spammers, oh yeah, keep the bad times rolling. BTW, I'm not defending Halo 3 because it certainly has it's flaws. I'm just stating that too many people overlook a game's flaws and deem it perfect game. Everyone has their opinions, but all the yellow journalism is really starting to get to me.

I agree, Gears is the most annoying online game ive played becouse of these things, But still, its fun if your host :)

I personally cannotstand Halo 3's matchmaking. the teams are constantly uneven and you are unable to switch them nor can you leave an unfair match without being penalized. I am much happier to put up with host advantage and some glitching in gears than losing 10+ matches in a row in Halo 3 through no fault of my own

story: halo 3 easily, gears had a story?

single player gameplay: halo 3, even though gears was somthing new

graphics: halo 3 had more color while gears was mostly grey so this just depends on preference

multiplayer: halo 3 by far, gears multiplayer is boring but it does have lots of gore

Well for me it's Gears. I went out and bought that game like 4 hours after a friend exposed me to it. I've played a friend's copy of Halo3, and I have yet to run out to a store and buy my own. For me, it's just another "been there done that" tired ass FPS; an overrated one for that matter. Gears really blew my mind when I saw it the first time, that game is awesome...still awesome.Rock-City

i think gears of war vs halo 3 is an example of quality vs quantity type of comparison.

Gears has good graphics, still the best looking game IMO THATS ALREADY OUT. so dont say killzone or crysis or wutevah.

Gears has better gameplay too imo. Try aiming diagonally in gears and its smooth, in halo it doesnt to a perfectt 45 degree movement. Anyone else noticed this? try moving the right stick a steady 45 degree and you'll see what i mean. Also i prefer cover fire style of shooters, thats why im anticipating mass effect :D.

sound is also gears for me, the voice acting is better compared to halo.

halo 3 on the other hand has forge & replays. Graphics look awesome, but not as good as gears. Gameplay is cool, but i really feel gears is better. one thing i dont like about the halo 3 gameplay is the jump, i mean, why do they jump so high? and no cover fire. and i really find it hard to aim using the right stick in halo as compared to gears. DOES anyone else feel the same way? And the auto-aim is kinda weird feeling i dunno. So there, Halo's gameplay is under gears. But hey, 4 player coop? up to 16 players in multiplayer? now thats loads of fun

Yea right keep dreaming bad kid. Halo 3 set a record for most games sold in 1 week. (that's what I heard). Get over your stupid Queers of War, that game was way overhyped and Halo 3 will own Queers 2 as well.

Halo 3 hands down, I use to play gears a lot, but i eventually got bored of it because you are doing the same thing in multiplayer everytime plus after you beat the game on insane there isn't a whole lot of incentive to play through the SP again unless you want cog tags. The SP has a lot of replay ablity like 4 play co-op, meta games, skulls. The Halo 3 MP has a lot more replay ablity now with forge which is fun and theater which i love because i can take pics and save flims and the matchmaking system in Halo 3 is probably the best for any console. Im not saying gears is bad because when it first came out I loved it, but I eventually got bored it and with Halo 3 I'll be playing it for years. As for graphics I'll give to gears, I like the dark and gritty look of the game and Halo looks good as well but not as good as gears.

Community: right now Halo has a better community, but after christmas it's going to be as bad as Gears.

Multiplayer: I liked Gears of War's better because I'm a lot better at it....but it isn't as in-depth as Halo's.

The graphics only seem better in gears because they use pre-rendered backgrounds and a total of about 4 colors. Halo 3 hands down. I'm not saying gears is a bad game, far from it, I'm saying Halo is better.

the gears storyline did not have as much hype as the halo 3 ending had. even if everyone thinks both are crap, i think halo 3s ending is better. the ending of gears...a light bomb on a train that goes to the center of the earth... its not that appealing as to master chief saving cortana, stopping the halo rings from firing and destroying all life, and surviving.

graphics and gameplay..both are good gears when i saw it the guys looked so realistic but when i look close at their faces, it doesnt compare to sgt. johnson in halo 3 hes aged. got spots on his face. but the world looks crazy real in gears garbage on the floor, debris, broken cars. nice. both gameplays are good, but in halo u can do so much more. more vehicles, weapons, coop on live, more enemies, better a.i. the only hard part in gears was raam on hardcore difficulty, in halo 3 legendary, every level is hard.

multiplayer, halo wins bar none. i find there are more gametypes, better ranking system, file sharing, 8vs8 is way better than 4vs4 and there is so much lag on gears, so much. plus custom games are always good to have.

so ya halo 3 is much better but gears is still good in my books

It has a great storyline, characters are nice, very epic, nice cutscenes...

The characters of Gear of War were a little... how can I say... to much of a stereotype, and waaaaay to muscled.

And there isnt given much information in the storyline.

But that's my opinion
