Gears or Halo 3?

the gameplay in either game really is much different so its up to you whatever style you prefer, tactical (gow) orclassic type fps (h3). you will definitely get your money's worth either way

i would have to say gears.

I also agree the reason halo3 deserved the score it got was for the introduction of forge and theater modes

But on the same note gears for pc with full map editor, a brand new chapter, a new gameplay style, and 19 maps out the box. it better get a perfect ten. i think the map editor alone is well worth .4

To get a 9.6 on a first game is really good, they can figure out what was right, add it, what was wrong, fix it, and make a perfect gears of war 2, Lets hope its better or equal to the first one!!

Yes Halo 1 got 9.7, but im not sure why, its just another FPS to me. When i saw Gears of war i was like, hmm i guess it looks okay, played it and i couldnt stop playing lol. The story wasn't 100%, So? The game was still loads of fun, the story isn't going to change that. After finishing it first time, you can repeat the game on insane, Which is loads of fun having to blind fire 60% of the time. The chainsaw being pointless unless they run at you. Then beating the brains out of General RAAM (after trying 1million times if you dont know the block trick.) Yes Everyone is saying Halo is better, but its been out for ages. Gears of war has been out for about 2 years aposed to 6ish. So by the 3rd Gears of war i think it will pass Halo Series or even more, just take a look at the % of votes on Gears. 32% for a first game, 2nd game could add up another 20% if its as good and eventually passing Halo.

Halo fan's, All great games come to an end, Halo has ended, try to get into other things after getting bored with Halo Multiplayer, Gears is a shooter? why dont you stop being so bias and look at the good's of it, and if you dont like it, try other FPS games e.g. Call Of Duty. I like Halo 3 but, no affence, its to overrated.

I didnt like Gears of War after the first month. It was repetitive and laggy. No customization and all maps had the same strategy. Nothing new ever happens on a map after playing it over 5 times. I will still play Gears 2

Halo 3 has soo much customization(forge) and another feature in Theatre where pics and clips can be taken also a chance to be viewed by millions over file share.Something that should be mentioned is the ease of the lobby. Maps have more options on strategy(example: not much fighting for sniper) and character customization is a plus.

I must admit it could use more maps for a better variety and that the current melee system(fixing in update) is annoying but other than that I find it a worthy purchase. The Halo story is very good if you actually follow the story.

Halo being out around for a while is an example on how good it is since people are not getting tired of the gameplay, something Gears will have to try and get by.

The Halo series is not over only the story arc. Also in my opinion Gears of War is WAY over rated. I play Call of Duty and like it but Halo is Halo and is well known for a reason. Hype would not have sold Halo 3 if people didnt like the 2nd game or the 1st.

Gears requires tactical skill, Halo is just run and gun.

I like GoW for its unique cover/shoot system. +1pt. for GoW

Crappy multi, IMO. -1pt. for Gow

Don't really have time to play multi anyways. +1pt. for GoW

I like the Halo trilogy, but find it a too generic FPS. Prefer Call of Duty.

Speaking of the multiplayer, it was alright. Worked the same way as it does in Campaign, only you fight other people. It's fun for the first few times you play it, and from there, it's nearly ALWAYS the same.

Im sorry your right. I would much rather play snipers and shottys at the pit and narrows 50 times a night. And when i get sick of that i can pop in gears and play the exact ranked match that i want with the exact map, gameplay mode, number of rounds, round duration, and bleedout time i want. Because unlike halo gears isnt held down by that S&*T-tastic excuse for online games called "Matchmaking"

I feel like I am taking crazy pills!!! did i just read that GOW is way too overated and Halo 3 isnt!!!! what!!!

Seriously, halo:CE was revolutionary just as much as gears of was is today. But to claim that gears offers nothing and halo 3 offers anything that we cant find in your average run and gun FPS is just crazy.
