Does anyone else's game freeze when you import a ME2 character? its happened 3 times right before it would have let me pick a class if it was a new character or imported ME1 character.

It never happened to me and I imported two characters without any issues. The only issue I see to have is flying when I touch an object which is really weird..Does anyone else's game freeze when you import a ME2 character? its happened 3 times right before it would have let me pick a class if it was a new character or imported ME1 character.
I am going to do it this time around and yes it was rather funny. I actually failed it because I didn't want to start all of those fights but I think that was suppose to be the point.
Samaras was pretty entertaining... i definitley recommend you do it, it was also the easiest of all the loyalty missions...PoisoN_Facecam0
Edit: I'm rather curious if I import my Mass Effect 2 character will I be able to change what happened in the end and import that character to Mass Effect 3? Otherwise I'm doing this for nothing and I should stop before I get too far. I doubt anyone knows yet but it's worth a shot.
Actually i would like to know that as well.. I'm aboot to start my second playthrough with my same character (imported form ME1, and then imported from ME2) and in my first playthrough some chars died that I would have liked to keep and i prefer to have them in ME3... well the first time you finished ME2 you will have an end game save for that, then if you do a new game+ with that same character, anything that happens in that specific new game+ file will be saved to a different end game save (assuming you complete the game again)
Can you tap 2 chicks in this one.. Jack and Miranda? or do you only get to tap 1?.. wait.. you can tap 1 right?PoisoN_Facecam0shallow much?
You realize that it's a VIDEO GAME and has no effect on real life, right?
Anyways,
I know I'll be in the minority, but I always enjoy the romance side-plots in Bioware games, yet I was kind of disappointed in this one. I thought I'd see more Kaiden :S
I was reading online about the new Hammerhead DLC, and how it will have an "Agile Hover Tank." Anybody know anymore about that? And do you think the Hammerhead will basically go back to us mining like in ME1... tedious...
I'm a level 30 Infiltraitor, with the advanced weapon training in my sniper. So simple question. What's the best advanced ability training for me? Another question. What's the best class for insanity? (advanced training ect.) ME2 is one of the best games i've ever played, and i have played alo of games. So multiplayer??? please. Scars, and glowing eyes are lame. This is not fable. Please give us some other sort of bonus for being renegade or paragon, but overall. Thank you bioware. StatusPro
i have the most luck with armor piercing or warp. warp dominates collectors but AP is better all around.
I am gonna be really irked if ME3 has us having to rebuild our entire team and that having everyone live or minimum casualties still renders all past squad members in NPC's.
that'd be crap....
for me personally, i hope to have Tali, Garrus, and Legion from ME2 continue into the final chapter.
with Liara, Ash/Kaiden reuniting as well.

Advanced ability as the bonus abilities you get from loyalties? For my Infiltrator I used Geth Shield, not sure why but I don't think it matters.
For Insanity I'm having an incredibly easy time with Vanguard + Reave. When it comes down to about three enemies, I use Reave on one, and they enter a sort of paralysis state, then I charge at the other enemy and if there's another one nearby, I have my two teammates focus on him.
My only problem is that the shotgun sucks in this game. It's so useless. I hope I can pick Assault Rifle for advanced weapon training, because the only useful weapon seems to be the heavy pistol.
Does anyone know how to get the Parmour achievment and who it is possible with?
KamikazeDonut
In ME1 or 2? I'm assuming ME2..
What I did was talk to every female after every mission, whether it was one given by The Illusive Man (the ones where you went straight there), recruiting a member, doing a members loyalty mission, a side quest.
I think you can do it with Kelly (the girl by the Galaxy Map) but you can do it with Jack (ew), Tali or Miranda.

I agree.
I'd like to keep Miranda, Thane, Mordin, Legion and Garrus from ME2.
Let me get Wrex and Ash from ME1.
I would've said Jacob but he can go to hell now. I asked him about him and Miranda's past and he gave me an attitude, so now he dies. :D
So Im thinking of picking this up but I havent played the 1st one so im wondering if ill like it. I enjoy a good story to my games. Fallout, AC 1 and 2, FF 7-8, Bioshock. Games like that. Also, how long is the campaign. I want to be able to put in at least a week of solid play or be able to continue to do/find things after the story is complete. Thanks for any suggestions.

The games aren't long, probably the only flaw of the series.
Both games can be completed in around 30 hours including sidequests, but ME2 sidequests are unique, and fun. Sidequests in ME1 are repetitive and boring. It's the same three mission structures all over again.
Stories are great IMO. I would recommend playing through ME1 first, because I tried to go back and play it but I can't. It just doesn't feel right at all, maybe because I played the hell out of it since it released, I don't know.
In ME1 you can't do anything after the story, or I don't think you can as I never tried. In ME2 you can finish sidequests after you complete the main story.
*************************SPOILER************************************************88 DONT READ UNLESS YOUVE FINISHED IT Ashley Williams.. last i saw of her.. she was in stasis from teh collectors on the planet with the coloney .. I never saw from her again.. she wasnt there at the end of teh game when i save my crew.. did i miss something?simo98088
[*/spoiler] is what you should use, without the * though.
Anyway, you're supposed to talk to her at the end of Horizon (the planet where she's in the Statis from the Collectors) but that's it. I know if you romanced her in the first game she sends you a message after, not sure if she sends you one if you didn't romance her though.
Why would she be there at the end? She's not part of your crew, she walks away after saying "I'll never work with Cerberus, I know where my allegiance is"
took you 32?? took me about 24. did u do everything and from upgrade and all the side missions??chineseforlifeMain missions, all loyalty missions, a few side missions, and a lot of upgrades.
It took me 35 hours to beat without DLC...though i did do the loyalty missions. So Im thinking of picking this up but I havent played the 1st one so im wondering if ill like it. I took my time, investigated planets, maxed out all my research, romanced Jack and completed the game with 0 losses of crew. Only took me 77hrs. I thank you.

Nice one. I had 2 casualties.
Legion died, I chose him as the tech expert then when closing the door he got shot, also Jack died. Both were NOT loyal (I don't know why, must have said something wrong). I am seeing a pattern. I wouldn't mind playing the final mission again just to see if I can make everyone survive. And why did Jack die when they defend the base as... For me doing all the side quests helped.
For tech specialist, I chose the character that would have the most familiarity with the systems.
Therefore I chose Legion. He made it through no probs.
For those who need help with the final mission..
Complete every personal quest. EVERY quest. Tali as the tech expert. Garrus as the leader for BOTH second teams. Mordin as the escort. Samara or Jack, I used Samara, as the Biotic. I got the achievement first playthrough. Side note.. If you don't send Mordin back, you MUST take him with you to the final battle.. Or he'll die. It's a bit of a glitch I suppose.. he just won't live no matter what you do. Also, speed is ESSENTIAL. If you're slow on ANY part, not just the tech bit, people will die. Move fast. The collector particle beam or the Revenant Machine Gun works a treat against the Harbinger's. I had Legion and Grunt on my team the whole way and chose the ones I recommended above. Good luck people (:
I am loving this game, the story is truely awesome and I love the characters. They are so much better then the first one. I actually care about the characters. something that i rarely do in videogames. I bought the first mass effect on launch day and I just beat it this past chirstmas. it took me that long of playing a little here and there. That game took me 14 hours to beat. So far with Mass Effect 2, I just got it this Tuesday and I already put 18hours into.
Just wondering if there is any real incentive to re-play the game over. Does all that much change or is it a matter of romancing this person instead of that person? love the game, but don't want to sit and scan planets all over again. Maybe down the road, but I guess thats why I am doing everything I can the first time around.Lostboy1224When I finished the game, it says that re-playing (with the same level character) will let you have extra resources. Hopefully this means no need to scan at all, and not just a little boost at the start.

There are probably other things too.

I'm surprised how easy the achievements are this time around. I'll have all but 3 or 4 when I finish my first play-through, then I need to go back on Insanity and focus on Biotic powers. I definitely like it, since the first one was just about impossible to get all 1000/1000x-chump-xSame here. It took me a week to finish the game, I think the total hours I spent is over 40 hours and I did all the missions and side quests and discovered all the planets 100% in one play through. But I encountered a bug. It was the side quest for Ish. He's no where to be found after I delivered the package for him. Hopefully that will get patched. I'm going to replay the game and Renegade everything and unlock the last 4 Achievements and do it in Insanity Mode.
So I just ran into a nasty, I guess glitch. I was on that first mission of the gameand I died. I pressed A to load the game par usual, expecting to go back to the start of the mission. But the game just sat there, I was able to move the camera around and saw my team continuing to fight so it didn't freeze, it was just stuck. I pressed start and tried to manually load the last autosave and there was nothing there. So I quit game and came back in it to see that everything I did, importing my character, escaping the Cerberus base and all had been deleted. Anyone run into this glitch?
