Not overrated for the whole, but Orange Box a bit for me. Had already played many times Half Life 2 on the PC. So wasnt much on the 360. Episode 1 just seems recycled same old from HL2. Portal was ok, but once you beat it no replay value. and TF2 stinks as a person who played Team Fortress (Classic) for many years and dont care for the changes. IMO
dont start this crap all over again...most overrated wud have to be halo 3, BUT cod4 is being overrated now.....everyone is talking abt cod4 like its the second coming of Christ..sometimes even like its more significant.....and just incase some wise guy decides to comment on this statement saying thatCOD4 is the second coming of christ.....ITS NOT....
I will admit Halo 3 is a little over rated, but it is by no means a let down. It did a lot of things right and improved in other areas.
The most overrated and over-hyped game for me is Raw v.s. Smackdown 2008. It was a huge step backwards in the series. I wasn't happy with this game after all the hype it received.
Bioshock is easily the most overrated game of 2007. With a game where the fun of shooting is lost and more or less a rehashed idea already done in System Shock 2 I can't say the game was good at all. The only thing it got right was atmosphere. The choices weren't that great a factor, it was easy, short and repetitive. Not to mention the lack of variety in enemies. There was no real character I got from the enemies or my character leaving all satisfaction in the kill out.
I gotta go with Halo 3, they promised soooo much and delivered soooo little. I mean come on, I remember when they promised it was gonna take more strategy to kill a brute in Halo 3 than simply pumping them full of lead. But guess what you have to do to kill them in Halo 3, FILL THEM FULL OF LEAD!!!!!
But for 360, I've gotta go with Halo 3. Not that it's a bad game, I enjoyed all three in the series. I've just never quite understood all of the hooplah that surrounds the series. I'd rank them all 8.5ish. Good games with some replay value and some fun multiplayer. Not the masterpeices they seem to be rated as.
I say bioshock, one of the most OVERRATED game of all time, simply a high graphic typical shooter. for all of those who say Halo 3 didnt deliver what the hype, it did for me at least. they told us the game was suppose really fun to play. it turn out to be true. I rather play customgame of infection with 16 people. than gay as ranked match of COD 4. dont get me wrong i like the game butthe multiplayer is not even close to Halo 3.
I wouldnt say Halo 3, Bungie said they made it how they would have liked to make it in the first place. In that regard, it is a pretty cool game with a really good multiplayer. Who cares about games being overrated anyway? There use to be a time when people didnt care about if a game was overrated or anything, you would just go buy a game because it looked cool, and if it sucked, it sucked. But, it was still fun to play a sucky game. Now everyone takes these games and systems too seriously. Im a video game fanboy.

actually imo, it is. the game is amazing and if you play on hardcore, its just simply the best fps experience ive had on 360. war is how it should be. pistols are deadly and one shot from an ak47 kills, like it should. not me putting 2 bursts from an m16a4 into your chest just to make you die. the only complaint i have is that the pistols are a little to accurate..
I honestly think that Halo 3 is by FAR the most overrated game. It didn't do anything new except continue the story and it didn't even really end completely. Halo fanboys will say the orange box or bioshock. But at least with TOB you get a good deal for your money and Bioshock is just a completely new game to begin with and yeah it may have been repetative but I think it made up for it with a really good story and great atmosphere. The water effects kicked @ss too. Halo is just same $hit different platform.
Anyone could say Halo 3 or Assassin's. If you expect an overhyped game to be like some sort of divine gift, you're just a dumb@ss- marketing is how they get you to buy it. I didn't expect Halo 3 to be the best thing ever, and it was better than I thought it would be. Assassin's Creed was fun, but I wish they could've cut the whole future tie-in out. It didnt make sense and completely tore apart an awesome crusade story. I don't think any of these games are overrated. Most games this year got the rating they deserved. If Gears of War can get a 9.6, and Halo 3 scores less, everyone who hates the Master Chief should stop whining.
My problem with Halo 3 is that it got dull way to fast. I unlocked every achievement and piece of armor in less than a week after launch. After that there was no real reason to keep playing.
Atleast with Halo it was fun while it lasted, which can't be said for games like Bioshock *vomits in distaste*
I'm off to go play Shadowrun, Vegas, or TF2. Have fun being sheople!
halo 3is not just the most over rated game or hyped game of 07 it is of all time even when compared to the likes of mission impossible for the n64halo 3 should be rated 7.0 out of 10 because in my eyes it didnt look to good re4 showed better effects as did timesplitters future perfect that plus alot of content makes halo 3 just another fps one good thing i can say at least they didnt cut the number of offline players down like most did this gen and they said theyd do everything they didnt do in halo 2 lol what a lie that was no unlockable characters guns or anything but stupid armor what kind of unlockable is that halo 2updated it more then 3 really did graphically the game didnt do nothing new in terms of graphics ive seen way better, pd0 ring a bell or saints row or how about project gotham racing 4 if that isnt enough you got nascar 08
