What's the point in getting the same console? I'm amazed at the ignorance of some people, if your current 360 works fine theres no need to get a new one and give Microsoft more money. Four year's getting $100 dollars from a lot of people just to connect the system wirelesly and almost four charging $50 dollars for old fashioned Memory Cards oh and $100 more for hardrives. Now there's no need get all those overpriced accessories and now early adopters need to get and special cable if they want to use Kinnect. Microsoft is a very lucrative company in the gaming sector. For me if i have one Xbox 360 and it is still working then there's no need for me to go out and give $300 more dollars to Microsoft just to aument the total sales charts for them to keep telling every Magazine and Press " Hey we are selling more than the competition".

Yes. I need another one for the family room for Netflix streaming and Zune Marketplace. That, and the wireless will help because I'm too lazy to go do the wiring under the house.Andrn
I don't have the right to juge you but i find really silly and dumb to be buying the same console for every room in the house. And what's the big deal in wireless? Ethernet will always be more reliable and faster.

No need for me to get one. I already have a 250GB console. Perhaps maybe down the road if they ever bundle it with a game or two.

The new slimmer Xbox looks cool. I would love to have one but I will just stick to the 250 gig elite I recently bought. Maybe I will get a slim model down the road as a spare unit in case my current 360 pulls a RROD. I think its a good idea and a great way to add value to the Xbox and along side the Kinect these puppies should sell pretty well.

Im going to trade my 360 for the new one once it's released in the UK, my current one has been playing up a bit the past few months, and so I haven't been using it as much for fear of the RROD, so as soon as this is announced for UK release, and I have some money I'll be trading my current model in for this awesomely sexy little box.

To Soul Reaper...The PS3 price drop wasn't the only thing that helped boost sales a year ago, it was the redesign. People like smaller more effecient devices and by redesigning the 360 Microsoft hopes help re-sell a system that has been plagued by the RROD and the new features like 250g hard drive and WiFi built in, it will only help justify the price along side the competitors. For those people out there who don't already own a 360 this will be the system to get and it also looks really nice when paired with the Kinect. Lets just hope the new redesign is solid and dependable.

If I buy a Slim, that will only make two that I own, one for my personal use, and the other for a more social role in streaming videos from Zune Marketplace or using Netflix. And while a cable will indeed always be better, it makes it easier to swallow that I won't have to go through a day's work beneath the house working on wires, or pay $100 for the Wireless Adapter.

If they released it in white I'd trade in my current 360 for it. I like the built-in wireless N (I have the b/g adapter right now), 250GB HDD (currently have 20GB), quieter and hopefully less prone to RROD (I have a Zephyr model), smaller size, and sleaker design. I don't like the black finish though so I would only buy it white. Only other way I'd get it is if something happens to my current 360 I'd probably just buy the slim instead of getting it fixed. or maybe get it fixed and then trade it in before it RRODs again :P

Why would I if I already have one that works fine? raylewisnfl52
My sentiments exactly. The only reason I can think that I would have to buy a new slim version is if my current system breaks, out of warranty.

Kinect supports every 360 SKU out there, from the launch 20GBs to the new 250GBs.

It's the same as is but smaller with one big fan rather than 2, it now has an internal hard drive that is removable and NO the old hard drive will not be compatible. WIFI. Oh and a port for KINECT so you don't need extra power supply.

Yup, was planning on upgrading my 20GB HDD and buying a wifi adapter, so I might as well just trade in my old one. Plus it'll look so much better next to my PC.

I don't get it either. The only think that would make me get a new 360 is system failure out of warrenty.

Not even then. My xbox is a piece of crap, 4 years old and out of warranty. I've currently got pennies and electrical tape installed instead of the thermal pads to cope with RRoD and I've replaced my disk drive myself... twice. They aren't getting money from me for something I didn't break.

Maybe if mine broke, or I was incredibly rich. It would look nice sitting next to my PS3 Slim and my TV. Everything one color.

My 360 Completely failed ( RRoD ) so i guess i have no choice.....

Im still worried about these new consoles reliability given microsofts track record i mean i had 3 consoles RRoD over my consoles life span under warrenty....

The extra HD space will be nice too i guess i had 7GB left...

I probably won't get one. My current Premium 360 seems to be dying, so I'll probably just pick up a cheap 120GB Elite. From what I hear from those who have PS3s, a 250GB HD isn't required despite that fact that they have to install games on their consoles - so a 120GB Elite would suit me fine. I'm hoping the fact that it's got 1yr warranty rather than 3 suggests these slims are more reliable as well...

But it depends on the price difference once it's released in the UK (16th July?). If the difference between a slim and an elite is only £40 then I might as well get one. But damn, it looks like a finger print magnet!

Not getting one unless my old one dies. Even then there better be a way to transfer data from an old model drive to a new model drive.

perhapss.. the failure rate for the 360's have kept me away from purchasing one

if microsoft fixes that problem, and promises to not relase any new consle in 5-6 years then im sold for it :)

but it shoudln't be 199.. price drop :P

Maybe I might get it, but I'm not rushing. I want to see how this new 360 goes for the first couple of months, then i'll buy it. There's not much cons I can say about the new xbox. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that it's a fingerprint magnet. And I'm not so sure about that 'touch sensitive' buttons. Anyways it looks really good.

I would entertain the possibility of getting this one as a 'replacement' to my existing 360, if it supports standard hard drive upgrades. The lack of options for storage upgrades has been a personal sticking point with the 360, especially since the NXE update that allowed hard drive installs of disc-based games. I don't really care for kinect or whatever it is called, but being able to get a standard PC or Notebook hard drive to upgrade would be a significant selling point to me.

No. I already have a 360. Why would I buy another one? It's really ugly too.

decepticondevil
it is WAAAAAAY better than the current one. i like the shiny finish, the fan and vent placement and of course now i can get rid of that stupid 3rd part gaming adapter thats so akwardly placed in my caming cabinet. great to have all the systems built in wifi.....whats NOT to like about it, over the current 360?

well i already have a 360 elite that still works perfect, no point in wasting money buying another one

if this one breaks however, then i will be tempted.....
