i still got UT2004, i think its better than UT3, but i think both are better than the halo series, just oppinion.

How is the game dying? Every time I play Halo 3 MP there's always around 300K people playing online. COD is up there as well. Doesn't seem like it's dying to me. I haven't been playing much of it lately because of playing Bad Company and starting Lost Odyssey soon but still....that comment doesn't make any sense, yet again, considering the proof that exists which completely contradicts what you said.

Yes, the amount of people you know = the whole world despite 300K people playing it at any given time.

I typed this last night before I went to bed. I'll catch up on all the nonsense in this thread and post accordingly. I theorize that what I've got below here will pretty well cover everything. I'm betting that in five pages of posts, Raiden fails to actually explain anything. Keep in mind that I haven't read pages 11-15, but I'm going to try and summarize his points right here:

Your credibility went out the window when you started comparing RPGs to Halo. You've been trying to salvage it, but I think you're just going to keep digging yourself a deeper hole.

So, you don't like the story in Halo, but you do like the story in Final Fantasy, and more games need to be like Final Fantasy. Okay, why stop there? Maybe more games need to be like Fallout. Maybe more games need to be like Romeo and Juliet. Maybe more games need to be like The Lord of the Rings. Maybe more games need to be like The Odyssey. Or maybe not. Some games need deep, involved stories, and some don't. (I thought the story in Halo was interesting, but that's beside the point.)

bungie could have done a much better job in inducing a more complex story into this game and why not reference some real life issues in the game like in ff7,

Are you being serious? I'm not sure if you're making fun of me or not. Well, whether you're being sincere or sarcastic, I'll take a shot at your post. First off, I can't prove your opinion is wrong, at least not on something as subjective as your evaluation of a piece of art. However, as I've noted before, I can make some judgment of the rationale behind your opinion.

I'm going to break down your post into five complaints:

1. "On the moon" jump mechanics.
2. Recoilless weapons.
3. Bad graphics.
4. The "feel" of the weapons.
5. The game's popularity.

Half of your post real estate is given over to complaints about the floating nature of the game's gravity. Does the word "nitpick" come to mind? Would it have dramatically affected your gaming experience if you jumped half as high and slightly faster?

Why the hell should the guns recoil? Did the guns recoil in Doom? Quake? Unreal? Real-world weapons modeling is found in a completely different sub-genre of shooter.

The graphics complaint is one of the oddest ones levied at Halo 3, and from my estimation, more of a gaming forum meme than a conclusion bred of serious analysis. It's also one taken to ridiculous extremes: Halo 3 has the worst graphics of any game you've seen on 360? Then you haven't seen that many games.

I can't argue with you too much here. If you felt that the weapons didn't do any damage, even though you can clearly see that they are as evidenced by the huge number of aliens you kill...then I don't know what to tell you.

So why do you care if people defend the game? That doesn't affect your playing experience. Furthermore, why are you theorizing about why people like it? You've taken a very popular game, and instead of concluding that it's popular because people legitimately enjoy the game, you've concluded that they like and defend the game for other reasons. Occam's razor disagrees with you. You also neglect to mention the game's enormous critical acclaim. Have the critics somehow been subverted by Halo's sinister appeal just like the gaming masses?

And there you have it. I hope you enjoyed my post.

Just for ****s and giggles I looked up KorruptRaiden's Halo 3 stats. Apparently he regularly plays a game he doesn't like more than a fan, like me. In fact, he's played roughly a thousand more matches than I have...

Lets see. I wanna take a crack at making KorruptRaiden a fool too so let me throw my two cents into the mix.

MGS4 is a movie, not a game for the most part. Also, neither title is even of the same species as the other. Too different for a comparison to truly work between them. Which you like more is left to preference.

AVP2, not the same type of game. Gameplay is different. Stories are nothing alike. Another example of trying to compare apples and oranges. It's about preference.

Mass Effect, Dead Space, Team Fortress2 and Bioshock are so amazingly different from Halo3 I weep for both of your parents that you tried this comparison. Mass Effect is an RPG before it is a Shooting game. Dead Space doesn't even have any similar LOOKING gameplay elements, same with Bioshock. Team Fortess2 also requires an entirely different form of thinking and gameplay. It is entirely impossible to succesfully play TF2 like H3, and TF2 doesn't do very much to help with H3 when you play the other way around.

I will not comment on Resistance2, I have yet to ever play it and have seen little footage out of lack of interest and laziness.

CoD4. Also CoD5 for that matter. These games are on equal footing with Halo3. CoD4 being the best available of it's type, Halo3 being the best available of it's respective type.

KorruptRaiden, What you fail to understand is that you are stating an opinion based purely on personal preference, but you argue it and treat it like a fact. This is both rude and stupid, if you are so intelligent, you would have long ago realized this and become a normal part of this thread. Instead your stupidity and Elitist mentality turned everything you spoke of to mush and gargle.

You are not wrong for having an opinion, however you are wrong in the way you present it to others. You are trying to pretend your personal experiences and preferences speak for everyone who plays it. This is apparently the opposite of the truth, as this thread shows, your preferences seem to be yours alone and the reasoning for hhating the game you use is both strange and not vvery well thought out.

You have brought up console wars. You brought up being Hardcore. You insult others who disagree, convinced they must be of lesser intelligence and you lack the ability to realize that when it all comes down to opinion, nothing will change.

Halo 3 is everything a game needs to be. Working gameplay. Popular. Long lasting. Easily customized and freindly to people who play all sides of the spectrum. Therefore, whether you like it or not, Halo 3 comes out on top.

Are there better games? Sure. I like CoD5 just fine, fits most of my gameplay preferances. All the fun I got from Halo3 and CoD4 with almost no elitism.

That is what you need to do, you need to find a game that fits what you like, shut the hell up and when the chance arises help others when your knowledge is asked for.
