What makes Halo so painfully average and COD so fresh and vibrant? COD is the same game rehashed every single year. Modern Warfare 2 will be exactly like Modern Warfare 1 with new maps and different guns. YAY ~_~. You cannot even prove why you would say something like halo is average. Halo may not be the best game and it is far from perfect but it has qualities that make it the longest lasting FPS thus far. Halo 3 has had the highest average population count since its release and has held the highest avg pop count for the longest on the 360. What does that say? People said COD4, Gears 2, and many other shooters would take over but what has happened time and time again? They failed miserably.
What in the hell is wrong with people in that we become so focused on graphics more so than gameplay. Is it wrong that I still have plenty of fun playing Dreamcast and PS2 games? Looks can only take you so far. It applies to life and it applies to games.

If you choose to deny that my opinion is what it is, it's your problem, not mine. I have little reason to explain my reasoning, especially since I've already done so in this thread. You've chosen to ignore it.
Also, you have no way of knowing what Modern Warfare 2 will be like. I very much doubt that you work for Activision or Infinity Ward. If past events are any indication, the odds are in my favor. As you probably already know, Infinity Ward is the developer for Modern Warfare 2. These are the guys that made the jump from World War II to modern warfare. These are the guys that made Call of Duty 2 and then, 2 years later, released what would become the best-selling FPS ever made after only one year on store shelves. These guys have never missed their mark, and I don't think they're about to start slacking now. Call of Duty 4 can hardly be called a "rehashed" game, when you consider the differences between it and IW's previous effort.
World at War, on the other hand...rehashed it is. That's why I rented it, beat it, and sent it back. Treyarch would be more apt as a map-maker than a full-fledged developer. This is why I always say that Call of Duty is released once every two years, not annually.
And another thing. I've already mentioned why I think that Halo is still on top. The Call of Duty community is fractured into two games.
There's three types of Call of Duty players. There's the "sheep"; those who will buy the next Call of Duty no matter who develops it or what the setting is or if it's even playable; there's the Infinity Ward fanboys, who are quite aware of who develops each game and are very, very reluctant to try anything that has Treyarch's fingerprints on it; there's the "we'll wait and see how good it is" guy who doesn't necessarily have a favorite developer, but is fairly optimistic whenever a new Call of Duty game is announced, and ultimately always ends up buying it. As you can probably guess, the sheep are in the majority. But also be aware that when Modern Warfare 2 hits, all three types of Call of Duty players will likely be reunited once more. I trust this will be more than enough to dethrone Halo.
But you're right in that Halo's ability to maintain such a high average through so many game releases is pretty amazing. It's my firm belief that Microsoft is putting something in our water.
LOL, JAYKAY, JAYKAY. :D
