even if this is true, why are people complaning. the new chip has the same power, and as for the 120gig hd, sure its good, but it will cost a fortune. i don't have a hd tv so i don't care about the ports either.
this new 360, if it does come out, will cost alot more than a current 360, it will not replace it. 120gigs, you're gonna have to pay for that.

Well it might, but i think it will be the same price. Since for one the 360 will be more cheaper to manufacture because of the switch to 65nm CPU. That alone CAN make a 50$ dollar decrease in price but won't. Because of this alone a bigger hard drive (not 120gb) and HDMI can be added. I think the 120gb is not true since it's 6x the space and microsoft probably wouldn't want to incresase the price. Besides that if you read exactly what they said it seemed like they just threw that in. If there is gona be a bigger hard drive it will probably be 40 or 60gb (cuz the ps3 has no more then 60gb). So there is a great chance that a bigger harddrive and HDMI can be added without a increase in price. (and obviously the 65nm since it's making the other improvements possible)
Well I think MS really needs to come out and make a decision on this. I (and many other gamers) am in limbo as to getting a 360 or PS3. Right this second im leaning toward a 360 but i dont wanna get screwed over by them adding in all this new stuff a month after i get it. This rumor is really the only thing preventing me from getting a 360 in a few weeks. It would really be great if they came out and said yes we are or no we arent. Either way it doesnt make a huge diference but if im gonna pay $$$ i want the good version...

Same for me...
I bit the bullet and bought one yesterday. I didn't see the point in waiting for an HDMI port what I wouldn't use anyways. As for the larger HD, I have no plans of using the IPTV service.
No regrets.
Thank god for this Sticky,Now we dont have to hear trolls talking about it.booomer69
Especially the fact since their is no project Zephyr.
You might wanna check this site guys (http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/06/zephyrs-hdmi-port-and-new-hana-scaler-up-close-and-personal/). Check out the video too...

weel, if it's modded, it's pretty well done.
Ther is one detail that may prove that it's modded. The animal, next to the tv (sorry, english isn't my native language) is the same as used with the whole xbox linux project.

Actually, I just listened to the KOXM podcast the other day, and they are all putting their money on it being legit. They are rarely wrong, especially they usually have insider information that they try to call "rumors" so they don't get hammered for leaking the info. I bet their is a project Zephyr. It'll probably come out late summer or this fall.[QUOTE="Maui00"]Video

That was proven to be a fake. If you watch the video it becomes somewhat obvious that second 360 is hooked up to the monitor, which is what the stuffed animal and blanket are covering. Look at the very peculiar route he takes to show the cables are hooked up. When you're showing something real off, you walk all around it, so that you can see all of the objects (monitor, 360, and cable) at once. In any case, a few people compared the times (on the video) to the actual startup, as well as some of the noticeable button press-lag, and determined this video wasn't real. Microsoft confirmed that the HDMI-port equipped Xbox 360 does exist. This video isn't it though.Ms already said they weren't planing anew version of the 360. Anyways, what's so big about an hdmi port, huh ? You can have Hdtv already, so i don't see the effin problem.ilovesnowboard
hdmi gives a better signal. pretty much gives someodd million colors along with a bandwidth of 4.9 Gbps video transmission. HDMI 1.3 can do double the bandwith and offer some odd billion colors but only found on the latest of the latest gadgets.
component cannot compete with hdmi. and if it does, then you're tv isn't fully utilizing hdmi

Well, when watch tv through hdmi, it sucks ! If i watch when i use component, it's looks awesome..but that's just for tv, maybe it's a difference for the 360.Well I think MS really needs to come out and make a decision on this. They've already said "no" and they're going to keep saying "no" until the day before they release this product. You either wait for the next "upgrade" - knowing that it could be months until such a product exists - or you buy the 360 and live with the reality that all technology depreciates.[QUOTE="_christoph"][QUOTE="Breesy"]Well I think MS really needs to come out and make a decision on this. i dont care what happens, if its new, i just buy a new one and sell my old one. a difference of 100 bucks. whats the big deal.. the whole time your thinking of which one to buy your, missing all the fun. F1sTDaCuffSwell the most important thing for those of us considering buying now is all the deals we missed - free game, free $100 gift card, free extra controller, et cetera. Right now they're just offering us Madden 2007 with the 360 (ugh). Personally, I'm hoping someone pulls out a nice 360 sale soon!
hopefully project zephyr has all the bells and whistles so you wont have to buy it separately and create clutter.
If there will be a new version of the 360, I would want:
-HDMI
-built in HD DVD
-120 gb hard drive
-smaller power brick or better yet no power brick
-Built in wifi network
so yeah:)

Sure let me mention that to Microsoft....
I'm sure Bill Gates will pistol whip me the moment I open my mouth.
[QUOTE="stebun"]this should be stickied, im tired of seeing topics about thisMaui00I really would like that. I'm actually looking foward for the updated 360.
Nintendo and Ony do it. they think of things to do after the original...it helps boost sales :(As an 'early' adopter of the Xbox 360 platform I feel that Micrsoft as a company has betrayed their most loyal fans. We pay them with our good money for the latest in video game consoles to find them only a year later updating the system with features that were supposed to be on the original system. I am not worried about the larger hard drive as I dont store any media besides game demos on there, I dont care about the cooler chip as I already have an intercooler but seriously adding a hdmi port?! I am one of those people who do have a 1080p hdtv and I am really pissed that now they decide to introduce a hdmi port. Hopefully though they will be able make some sort of accessory so the v1 360s will support hdmi

what is "Capability to serve IPTV (Internet Protocol Television)"? and who needs a 120g hard drive? and will microsoft really leave its loyal "first buyers" in the cold? this is going to piss off a lot of people if the xbox 360 out now cannot be updated to this new project zephyr coming out. when is it coming out?TobyAYeah, it definitely would piss off a lot of people. I'm wanting to buy a 360 real soon, but this is making me want to wait. I wish there would be an official word on it.

What they could do is offer the updated X360, with 120 gig drive and HDMI, @ $399 and the current premium, with the 20 gig drive, sell for $299 (price drop) and eliminate the basic X360. They could release it around the same time Sony decides to drop the price of PS3. My opinion anyways.Lionhart_basic
I would say it'll play out similar to that...So most likely Christmas '07.
Microsoft will most likely release the new Xbox 360 as something like Xbox 360 Media Edition. I might sell my current 360 if the HDMI is worth it, which it very well may be in my case.
