I read it ;) Lol.
Yeh I think that at first they said they were making KOTOR 3 then it was released that its an MMO...then there is another article, I think its on gamespot I will check in a minute...basically it said that yes they are making the MMo but they are still making KOTOR 3, I think thats what it read anyway I'll check now.
[QUOTE="UT_Wrestler"]I would have preferred an actual single-player game that continued the unfinished story rather than another stupid WoW clone.DJ_MagnetoI thought that the The Old Republic was a continuation of the KOTOR story in MMO form. Nope, it doesn't even take place in the same time period.

All they have to do is not sully what happened back then which I doubt since part of the storyline reads about much history getting destroyed when the Sith attacked Coruscant, which to me was just a "welcome" sign to explain what happened to revan and the exile.

obviously tor is coming out, but which would you rather have  ?hughamiWho knows it may come eventually, the first two were absolutely brilliant games that really captured the context of the star wars universe, i hope to say the same for the aliens rpg, if its not canned lolz.
very well put, all we can hope for is that they or obsidian make a kotor 3. check out this article - http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/680/680220p1.html if it doesnt work just copy and paste the url etc ;) .hughami
Half of the information provided by IGN in that article was crap and didn't end up the way they predicted.
Too bad, considering KOTOR 3 has the potential to be the second best video game of all time, behind the original KOTOR.....
I tried a couple of different MMOs and I've hated them. I'm story starved and there is no direction, just to begin.
I surmise that I will buy the game and try it out for a couple of months, just because I need some answers and really want to see where things are going.

does anyone know how good/bad the framerate is for kotor 1 and 2 on pc? im thinking of getting them cuz the mods look sick.
hughami
anyone know?
I'm no expert, but wouldn't that depend strongly on the specs of the system on which you're running it?
kotor 3, or at least tor for xbox 360 where you dont HAVE to completely do the mmo partlexluxonyeah, if you could play tor without having to play online or be hooked up to xbox live i wouldnt mind. its still basically kotor just a different setting. i miss killing people with canderous ordo though lol. he's mentioned in the book "republic commando: order 66" which made me miss kotor straight away. the mandalorian missions were my favorite in kotor 2.
I played the first Knights of the Old Republic several years ago on a (can't remember the processor type) 3.0 gHz, 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9600 128 MB with no trouble at all.Palantas
As you can see from my sig I've been playing through KOTOR again on PC. My PC is well above the system requirements but the game still chugs in certain areas (especially if there is smoke or explosions). It's just the way the game was made. Even the written review of the PC version says that they tested the game on a few PCs well over the system requirements and the framerate was inconsistent in some places. The Xbox version was kind of the same.
i hope lucasarts sees this. hughamiI would do horrific, unimaginable and unforgivable things to have a third KOTOR game, hears us out lucasarts!
[QUOTE="hughami"]i hope lucasarts sees this. KorruptRaidenI would do horrific, unimaginable and unforgivable things to have a third KOTOR game, hears us out lucasarts! oooooooooooooookaaaaaaaayyy...........but yeah i totally hope they see this :) . if it is kept alive and enough different people say they want kotor 3 and it gets noticed, we might just get it :) .
I would prefer a knights of the old republic 3, updated graphics, more planets, more quests and stuff to do in general. But i highly doubt i will get the old republic MMO even if it is good. KOTOR was a single player masterpiece, leave it at that.doug789
yeah the mmo looks cool but..................its an mmo lol. i hate mmo's. kotor is an rpg and not an mmo. player centrality was one of the main reasond i loved that game so much. who wants to be one of hundreds of thousand other sith trying to rule the galaxy or one of hundreds of thousands of jedi trying to save the galaxy. when im in a dark cantina talking to some sketchy hutt about assassinating someone, i dont want some tool coming in their and talking **** to me etc. its funny, on the tor forums one of the "popular" users said "everyone who has ever played an rpg is a drama queen and wants attention" it ****** me off so much, plus that would make her a hypocrite since she played the old kotors.
my wishlist for kotor 3 would be the following:
its existence for starters lol.
bigger areas.
more planets.
longer story.
more interaction with crew members and npc's.
possible real time combat.
an actual character creation, like face, skin color, hair, tattoos (i want some sith tattoos like uthar wynn from kotor 1), combat style, how force powers look maybe like force lightning and force choke etc.
different lightsaber options for how you hold it.
nice variety of robes, armor, and having the option to wear armor over a robe, hoods up, and cool masks like nihilus and revan had.
option to kill anyone, if it means missing out on missions for killing the wrong person, that would be the players fault ;) . i would like to be able to kill someone if they rip me off or dont give me something or dont allow me entrance into somewhere etc. on many occasions ive wanted this, why shouldnt an evil sith be able to kill some idiot who steals from him and let him run away etc ya know. also if i get sick of an annoying light side person in my crew i want to kill them if i want. it would also allow us to not have to be light sided and fake to get stuff, but mind influencing and deceiving npc's added depth to the story which i enjoyed. but having the option to kill would be nice too, especially choking them to get a point across lol. im not psycho or nothing:| ..............or am i  .
and if we cant continue the story from kotor 2, i would love to play during the great hyperspace war, the sith war, or the mandalorian wars, the depth and story could be awesome.
anyone else have a wishlist for kotor 3?
So it looks to me like everyone would rather have KOTOR 3 than The old republic No surprise huh? I know I would have liked to see what happens to Revan. Also, I agree with most of your improvements hughami. More intereaction with NPC and party members is something I'd like to see return as well as a more different sets of outfits and weapons. Of course, a longer storyline wouldn't hurt either ;)gr8scott
hell yes im hoping that lucasarts has people reading forums etc. in that article it said that the "supposed" kotor 3 was gonna have better npc interaction etc. in tor revan "might" have some weird comeback or most likely you'll get to hear from an npc what happened to him (sarcastically "ooooh goodie im so ******* we get some closure, like i wanted to fight with him that would be boring, hearing about him would be way more exciting" ). whats amazing is that when i had an arguement about it with all the tor junkies they were all like "at least we'll find out so how wont that be closure" it was ridiculous. i think alot of them are in denial, they are just trying to be optimistic even though their favorite game has been screwed lol. i got called a "console junkie" by some weirdo it wa great :D ! what did you think about my mass murder idea:| ? someone made a mod for kotor 2 where you could do it. im probaly gonna get kotor 1 and 2 for pc, i had them for xbox since i like controllers for playing games and the picture quality and graphics are better but the mods look great!
no one got any ideas :( ?hughamiJust bring one out, i remember on my 11th birthday i rented out KOTOR and had 10 of my mates over for a party, and i spent the whole time on KOTOR because it was so gooood.

That is all. Maybe they could hand the star wars rights over to square enix, and we beg them to make a game, im sure they could come up with a mad story for it.
