What Gamespot Users have to say about Arcania: Gothic 4

Once I got over my bitter disappointment it was ok at times. Some tragic design decisions.
I should start by saying that I don't hate the game, I hate what they have done to Gothic and I hate so many things about the game i.e. the design decisions. I have however played much worse and once I got over my incre... Read Full Review

Another decent RPG that gets bad reviews from GS.
The story is typical and the game play is nothing new, but that doesnt take anything away for this being a decent RPG. You can make some really decent choices in determining what type of character you will develop. I cho... Read Full Review

Rushed, unfinished feel, but still entertaining.
I'm not a Gothic fan boy like some, so I could care less if the game is just like the old Gothic games. I did play Risen, which is a better game in most ways, and is more or less Gothic like. Anyways, Gothic 4 isn't tha... Read Full Review

I've played all of the Gothic games and Arcania is easily the most polished game of the series and much under rated.
I am playing the PC version and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised. I have played and finished all of the Gothic games and after about 20 hours into Arcania, I can say it easily stacks up to the other games in th... Read Full Review

An action-rpg that provides plenty of action but very little role playing.
The story of Arcania revolves around a simple sheep herder in a small village, whose only real desire in life is to marry his sweetheart. After returning from a quest he finds his village destroyed and his fiance killed.... Read Full Review

Gothic IV might be very different from its predecessors but if you spend some time with it you'll really like it.
Different skill and combat system, no trainers, no beds to sleep in to wake up fully recovered, no magic runes, and many other differences. I was at first very disappointed due to the mentioned differences but after a wh... Read Full Review

Way to linear as far the new RPGs go
The good : something to do ( its like methadone for an addict) RPG wise, the graphic engine looks nice, the save system is almost instant, short loading times. I didn't encountered any serious bugs. The bad : boring fig... Read Full Review

This game is good but shorter than I expect...
This game is a good game but there need to be some changes. For example the conversations should have been richer. Also they don't change and lead the story... The graphics and movement diagrams are good and the world... Read Full Review
