What Gamespot Users have to say about Arcania: Gothic 4

A throwback RPG that, sadly, is also a step back.
I have tried my best to give ArcaniA: Gothic 4 a fair shot. Unfortunately, Spellbound didn't do the same. PROS: -- Beautiful Environments -- Technically Sound, for the most part -- Accesible systems and combat ... Read Full Review

Well I loved the previous full Gothic games by Piranha Bytes but this one is just not in the same league.
First off, this game is totally to linear. There may be some choices in quests but in the end the outcome felt the same to me. Also the game is not a free form as the old ones, each area is limited and you must "pass" it... Read Full Review

Beautiful graphics - shoddy gameplay
Not really a Gothic afficionado but did play Gothic 3 (before patch) and enjoyed it. Got all the way through Gothic 4 in about 60 hours doing all the quests at the hardest (gothic) level. Thought the graphics were very g... Read Full Review

Arcania A gothic tale review.
I don't know if i should really call it a gothic series, there is a small variety of armors, weapons and skills, the map sistem is not full free-roaming and from a city of 30 peoples there are only 3-4 guys that give you... Read Full Review

Could have been so much more...
While Gothic 2 was a bug-ridden, unfinished product which often crashed and with a lot of quest flaws, Gothic 4 is highly stable and works flawlessly from a technical point. Unfortunately Gothic 4 has been stripped of... Read Full Review

It was like watching a childhood friend get killed.
First thing is first, the graphics are good.. and that's about it. I have played and finished all the games in the series and I even "survived" trough Gothic 3 and from a fan's point of view, Arcania - Gothic 4 is a tota... Read Full Review
