I so love Bones.
Ok. Gotta go back to work now.

A Few Realizations

When I joined a CSI message board, I was quite confused as to why some people say Danny's gotten a bit soft this season. Now I understand why.
I've just finished watching the whole of season 1, and I now agree with the others - Danny is THE most emotional character on the show. He gets pissed off easily, and he tends to disobey direct orders. I'm surprised he's still in the team, but I guess that's because Mac sees something in him. No, I don't dislike Danny. It's just that the Danny I saw was different from the Danny in the second season.
Next, Aiden Burn. I've come to really like her, and I can now also understand what the others meant by the "forced chemistry" between Danny and Lindsay. You see, Aiden and Danny was so natural together. They act like they're more than friends but less than lovers. I guess that's because they've known each other for a long time.
That being said, I'm not agreeing that Danny and Lindsay don't have chemistry or that it's being forced. I think the "awkwardness" is due to the fact that they haven't really had the time to get to know each other, unlike Danny and Aiden. Danny really can't joke around someone he just met, now can he? But with Aiden, they have this special bond that he can afford to joke around. I don't think he's at that point yet with the new girl.
I like Lindsay, I like Danny, I like Aiden. I guess that's my point.

So I haven't been posting lately. That's because I'm too busy writing! And I'm pretty active at one of my favorite show's message boards so I kinda don't get to visit here often.
So the shows end. Thank God for reruns and downloads, at least I get to watch all the episodes I missed while waiting for the new season in September. But dang, 4 months is a long time. Hopefully school work would keep me busy.

Brass gets shot?! Oh no!!
Geez, is this gonna be another CSI casualty?! First Speed, and then Aiden, and now Brass?! Waaaaaaah!!!
"Bang-Bang" is one great episode. A real cliffhanger. Will Brass survive or not? Will Warrick be able to reconcile with his wife? Will Grissom ever get married after the failed proposal back in 2nd grade?
Nick was really cute. Fell on the floor with the "Tom Cruise-thing going on" comment. If I were there with him in the room, I wouldn't be able to resist guffawing.
Catherine looked so sexy holding that gun.
Okay, so this post isn't exactly overflowing with meaningful insights unlike my previous posts, but I can't get Brass out of my head. I really hope he doesn't die. If he does, no more teddy bear (he looks like a big, huggable teddy bear that is so cute!), waaah!

Okay, so I've seen both American Idol shows and the latest SVU.
AI - Elvis theme. The results were really a shocker. For some reason, I brainwashed myself into thinking that Chris is going to win, and all of a sudden he gets the boot. My jaw really hit the floor (and it was painful, mind you) - just like when Constantine was voted out last year. With Chris gone, it's safe to say there aren't any male hotties left.
I was really expecting Kat to go home. Sure, I'm still rooting for her, but I have to admit her performances last night were blah. But now that she's survived another night, I really hope she'll win. Thing is, if she does, then chalk another one up for the females. What's happening to the guys? Only one guy has ever won Idol, and he's not even recording right now (I think). Come on, guys! Step up your game! I'd like to see you win this one for a change!
Next, SVU. I think I pretty much said what I wanted to say in my review. I'm glad Benson and Stabler are back as partners. They did a great job trying to hide Mariska's obvious pregnancy, though in that last scene it wasn't that hide-able. And of course, KATE MULGREW. My God, when I found out she was going to be on the show, my heart stopped. I've been a fan of this auburn-haired actress since her Star Trek days, and seeing her again on TV really made my day. Hearing that deep, raspy voice brought me all the way back to my Voyager addiction days. Now I'm tempted to dig out my copies and watch them all over again. :D Damn, for a woman in her 50's she's still as sexy as ever. Unfortunately her hair in SVU didn't flatter her; it actually made her look older.
Okay, enough of this. Posts about CSI NY, CSI, and Bones are coming up as soon as I watch them.

Spoilers

I love spoilers. Unlike my sister, who'd eat you alive when you tell her a spoiler, I love going to websites to read what's going to happen. I dunno, even if I already know the story, I still go WTF when I watch it. Spoilers really don't affect me that much. They actually make me more excited. ^_^
Take the case of SVU's latest ep. I now know Benson and Stabler will be back as partners. Hooray! But you know what I'm really excited about? Kate Mulgrew's appearing in the ep!! Wooooo!! My beloved Captain Kathryn Janeway! God, I missed seeing her on TV!
I haven't read anything new about the other shows, but it doesn't mean I'm not excited to watch them! Sure, I've known since last week what's going to happen but still!! I'm so excited, I can't think straight!
Oh, and I've managed to get a hold of a few copies of Medical Investigation episodes, thanks to the kind people at CSIFiles. I must say, Anna Belknap was really really good as Eva Rossi. The pilot ep had me laughing and slapping my thigh so hard because of her antics. Which now leaves me to wonder - where did that great talent go in CSI:NY? Hey, I love Anna, I love Lindsay, but I gotta admit Anna's acting now is kinda forced. I remember reading an interview where Anna said she felt closer to Lindsay's character than Eva's. So how come she looks more natural as Eva than Lindsay?
Maybe it's because she knows Eva is different from her and she sees her as a challenge. She gives more effort in acting Eva. With Lindsay...maybe she should give more effort into acting natural. But with all her imperfections, I still think she's a great actress.
Bones' finale is interesting. I think finding out that the bones you're working on is actually your mother's can be really traumatizing. I'd like to see how the stoic, unfeeling Dr. Brennan is going to handle this.
Okay, that's about enough.

A Non-TV Related Post

Okay, so Monday's over. I'll be watching SVU soon. But that's not the reason why I'm writing here.
First, my band. We've been planning to play at this cafe for almost two months now but for some reason we can't fix our schedules for practice. We wanted to play some time mid-May, but at the rate we're going I doubt that's going to happen. I'm also starting to have second thoughts about the songs in our set list but as much as I'd want to change the song, that would only mean more time wasted on learning the new song. *sigh* It seems to me that my bandmates' enthusiasm about the whole thing is dwindling. We have to do something to excite us again.
Next, my grandparents. I think it's true what they say - you regress as you grow older. My grandfolks are a classic example. They fight over the pettiest of things, it's driving me crazy. And I just found out from my older sister that they had a fight one time when I was out of the house, and my grandfather had left and came back with what seemed like murder in his eyes. Thank God my sister was there. Geez.
It's amazing those two stayed together as long as they have (more than 50 years). But you know what I think? They stayed together not because they love each other but because they are bound by marriage. How can I say such things? Well, if you lived in our house and see them everyday, you'd think they weren't married.
I'll tell you this, though. If that old man does something to hurt even a hair on my grandma's head, he's gonna wish he never used his penis.
Okay, angry mode over.

Woosh Wednesday
by *keipots on Comments
Ah yes, the start of a new week, which means another episode to watch, critique, review, and probably drool over for the rest of the week.
After spending the day with the family and talking to friends about television, I recently realized that most of the shows I watch are aired on Wednesdays. Haha.
Don't mind me. I have a tendency to say senseless stuff when I'm tired.

CSI: NY - Stealing Home

Both cases are interesting, though not as intense as the past two episodes. I think it's a pretty good thing, gives the guys a chance to cool down before the last two episodes, which from the previews I've seen will be pretty intense. But let us first talk about the most recent episode.
The first case, the dead girl in a mermaid costume, focused more on Lindsay. We were given a glimpse of what she can do or what she could potentially be when a case hits close to home. She saw herself in the Sara Butler (the dead girl, who happens to be from Montana), maybe in more ways than one. And the fact that the girl was killed senselessy was eating her; she even went to visit the killer AFTER Mac told her that CSI's don't always get the answers they want.
Anna Belknap did a great job, especially during the scene with the dead girl's father and that last scene with the suspect. The frustration/desparation/anger in her eyes when the killer hung up the phone was intense, I could almost feel it through the monitor.
The other case was about a trinogamous marriage. Interesting concept, but not impossible. I have friends who are in an almost similar arrangement to this.
And now, for something I've been wanting to talk about since I saw the trailer five minutes ago - next week's episode.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. Proceed at your own risk.
All I can say is - WHOA. I had goosebumps all over. They're actually going to kill her off, and it's not just taking a bullet on the chest (like what happened to Speed) - she's going to be burned to the bone. If I were a part of their team and that happened, I'd go berserk at whoever killed her.
But why do they always kill characters? Can't they just have them leave the city to somewhere more peaceful for their tastes?
I am LOVING this series. My God, I can't wait for next week.

SVU - Fat

I was really surprised when Anthony Anderson's face showed up on my screen. I'm not exactly a big fan of the guy, but I have to say he did a pretty good job acting like an annoying detective in this episode. But next time, I hope he sticks to comedy. Drama just doesn't look good on him.
As for Stabler, I'm looking forward to the steps he's going to take to have Benson back as his partner. I don't really know if he will take action, but who knows. What if he can't find a partner like Olivia?
I read a review about Olivia wanting to hook up with Stabler. I'm not really all that crazy about it, but then again, why not? They do look good together. ^_^
The case itself was okay. It wasn't spectacular, but it did catch my eye since it's about obesity and I'm slighly obese myself. I don't think I've ever experienced being humiliated because of my waistline (though I've had a few jokes thrown my way, but I just shrug them off and smile back) so I can't really say I know what those kids felt. I do understand their actions, but I don't condone it. It's much too violent.
As far as I'm concerned, I think there's nothing wrong with being fat. I'm perfectly happy with who and what I am, fats and all. Honestly I wouldn't be trying to lose weight if not for health reasons (as we've seen in that episode, obesity can cause really serious diseases). But I'm happy and I'm confident, and that's that.
