Regardless, the majority of console owners don't play online....free or not.

SUD123456

even then, most games slightly favor the 360 :)

[QUOTE="-M117-"]

There is a thread on SW with people listing every console/handheld they EVER owned.

Some people had every console and handheld ever released. This suggestes deep pockets (either them or their parents).

So given that statistically a gamer spends hundreds of dollars every year on games, whining about paying $50 per year for a service is just ridiculous.......especially when its the #1 console service.

ChrnoTrigger

It's not whining when we can get pretty much the same service everywhere else('cept for wii) for free.

Also, it adds up to alot over the years.

so? its worth it.

And its better then PSN......which is priceless :P

and yet ps3 gets bashed for having bluray, double standards.

live being better than PSN is a matter of opinion. PSN has improved alot since ps3 launched.

ZoomZoom2490

No, LIVE being better is fact. Everybody who is anybody in the gaming industry knows LIVE is better then PSN.

If you think otherwise, your a cow or didnt give it a chance.

xblhas much more lag andpeople dont get banned left and right over nothing.

yet its still better...........go figure.

Well lemmings am cry when the s*** hits the fan with the factual evidence and the releases of the most anticipated PS3 exclusives of the generation the 360 will be left behind in the dust with it's unreliabe hardware.... not in terms of sales but overall QUALITY whether it's games, hardware reliability or functionality the PS3 is going to rape the 360 soon and microsoft knows this.....

Bauer_24

Didn't know minor personal victories paid bills, I'm sure all those losing their jobs at Sony and those who've had their salaries frozen will at least be proud that the PS3 will win in terms of quality despite the 360 boosting a number of great qualities about it.

Also I'm sure developers will be ok taking a loss to develop for a system that doesn't do as well with sales as Microsoft does. I'm sure Free Radical was proud to develop Haze for the PS3 and help to push it forward in this on going fanboy war between businesses.

And on a final note, I'm sure now the heads at Sony and the major share holders of the company will realize once they see this massive list of what if's that end with the PS3 outselling the 360. I mean, I'm sure if Sony launched at the same time with the 360, didn't have games like GTA IV, Ace Combat, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy XIII, and Tekken 6 go multiplatform, the Wii wasn't selling as well as it is, and the economy was better that they'd be totally winning and dominating the market. I mean come on, Do the Math.

Microsoft is worried about Sony because Sony dominated the last 2 generations of gaming and they were the ones to beat, Nintendo is so far ahead now no one can dream of catching them at this point and its just a race for second place now. Also despite certain developers like Bioware getting bought up by EA, it hasn't stopped Mass Effect stay with the 360 and PC, which I don't care how much you spin it the PS3 isn't on that list and if after all the "hinting" at Kojima did about Metal Gear Solid 4 going multiplatform and it didn't, I think we can safely say at this time and until it is otherwise announced, its a 360 exclusive. Also Bioware has developed the Sonic RPG for the DS and is currently working on the PC exclusive MMO Knights of the Old Republic. Also Bungie seems to be working exclusively for Microsoft with a steady stream of Halo games that are still solely appearing on the 360.

All Microsoft has to do now is avoid the blunders Sony has recently gone through and with things like the RROD behind Microsoft, they don't have much to worry about now beyond providing great content for their platform. Whether its exclusive games like Star Ocean 4, Left 4 Dead (yes its on the PC, but if you are a console gamer you can't play that on the PS3 now can you?), or exclusive DLC like GTA IV: Lost and Damned, and all of the Fallout 3 DLC as well, that's all Microsoft needs to do to keep ahead of the PS3. The only thing I could see maybe turning the tides is if the PS3 suddenly drops to a price below the 360 and Sony starts pulling some major game deals out like Microsoft has done in the past with GTA IV and Final Fantasy XIII which the Sony fanboys swore up and down it would never grace the 360.

When you are in the lead by as far as Microsoft is, you don't have much to worry about. When you are in the position Sony is in that's when you are really worrying.

we have yet to see microsoft even hint a line up that can compete with what Sony has got this year...... FACT they have the best lineup in the video game industry at the moment... you fail hard at you statement, especially with the part with personal victories crap.... if your product is superior to that of your competitor's you call that a personal victory?.....

someones upset PS3 is in last place and will continue to be ignored, despite what games may come its way.

And ODST, like it or not, will smoke the entire PS3 09 offering. Why? cause MS is gonna market the crap out of it......and is made by Bungie.

Live isn't expensive.

ZoomZoom2490

yeah it is, add it up since 360 launched and you will see that you could of bought 4 more games for that money.

gamers spend hundreds of hundreds of dollars per year on games. Whats $50. And lets not factor in the amounts of small stupid things we buy on impulse (like the occasional unessary fast food or whatever).

Basically, if you have a steady job, this isnt a issue, period.

they would make more money because everyone with a ps3 and xbox would get it and then they would sell more from advertising it

Alacoque72

Or............MS can buy out Sonys gaming division and liquidate the assets?

Yoy guys misunderstood the article it's not implying that Microsoft is literally afraid of Sony..... they are looking at it from buisness perspective..... with your competitor gaining so much momentum, as a company wouldn't you be concerned?.....

Bauer_24

PS3 is selling at year over year declines for months now

i'm speaking in terms of the quality line up of games the PS3 got....... which will inevitably lead to good sales...... one question what are you gaining when these companies make their money and we are here arguing on an internet forum?

speaking of quality of recent games? Games that FAIL to elevate PS3 sales for more then a week (like KZ2  ).

Well I have MS stock for one. Another it feels good and fun to make cows feel insecure about their position.
