[QUOTE="-Ninja_Dog-"][QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"][QUOTE="-Ninja_Dog-"] So I need to get a 360 with shoddy hardware ?
You mean I got to buy another 360 and hope it has shoddy hardware this time ?
Damnit !

There is a flaw in the design of the 360. It does not cause every system to break. MS says the number is 5% (which is still high comparatively), but I would guess its closer to 10%. That said, that means you have at least a 9 out of 10 chance of not having an issue with the system. You are in the majority, like I said. I don't know why you keep harping on this.
If you want a 100% chance of a broken system, wrap it in rugs and play it for 24 hours while storing the system upside down and repeatedly hitting it with a bat.
Ok. You took long enough. Thanks.

Seriously though, this when I get a little annoyed. If it was a design flaw , then all 360 would die.
Which is not the case.
I say the problem should be placed on the manufactures of the 360 and the some parts manufactures for the 360.
These outside factors really hurt the 360 and MS . But I honestly think the MS has tried to rectify the problem and by extending the warranty to 1 year.
MS was the victim here and thats just sad.
No, gamers with defective systems are the victims. I clearly said that you were in the majority on the first post I made!
And it is a flaw. They used terrible thermal paste that cannot operate under all the circumstances that the system would be subjected to under normal use. If it was not an issue, and it was a minor thing, the defect rate would be around 2-3%, but even MS admits theirs is 5% (and I would guess higher)
I am a huge MS fan, as are the people who runTeamXbox.com, llama.com, and Xbox-scene.com, and yet we can all tell that there is something lacking in the way that the system was made.
Sony made an error when they used plastics in the track holding the optical laser in their first run PS2s, and MS dropped the ball on either shoddy thermal paste, or poor system ventilation (its a toss up which makes the most difference).
Nope.
Again the ones that died weren't manufactured to the correct specs.
What you think MS didn't do extensive testing ? Of course they did.
A design flaw would be universal to all console. Not something that would affect about 10 % of consoles made.
Doesn't add up if its a design flaw.
