i just bought these if you live in the uk: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/111651 they are good sound quality and obviously very cheap, but after a couple of hours the top part kinda digs into your head. but still thats only a minor problem.

Ok so i just tested out some games. Company of Heroes runs flawlessly and worked fine. Sims 3 and Empire Total War on the other hand had strange periods of freezing, i would be playing and then all of a sudden it would freeze for around 30 seconds, and then continue to run as normal??!! It did this about 4 times in 2, 45 minute slots. Does this mean that my overclock is partially stable but not fully? as it worked on some games but not others? If so, then does this mean that i have to increase certain voltages to make it fully stable? Thanks

Alright, i just did 1 hours worth of OCCT and it went fine with no errors occuring. so i assume everything is fine, now i just need to test actual games to see how far they get. unless i havent run OCCT long enough?

PSU is 600W, some weird unknown brand but it does the trick. Yeah ive looked at the advice of the first reply and tried to overclock once more with different voltages and in smaller steps, using occt to check for errors. im now up to 3.0ghz again but im gonna do a big occt test to see how far it gets and hopefully to see it complete it, if not then i will try increases voltages of NB and HT as said above. I'll let you know how it turns out, thanks.

Hi, i tried to overclock my cpu about 6 months ago and kinda failed, so i thought this time id give it another try and my target was 3.0ghz from stock 2.4ghz.

After attempting my voltages are as follows:

Vcore = 1.5

DRAM = 2.1

HT (i have no idea what that is) = 1.44

NB = 1.44

SB = 1.56

Frequencies:

FSB = 1333 x 9

RAM = 800Mhz

Temperatures also:

Idle: CPU = 35 Motherboard 40 (celcius)

Load: CPU = 50 Motherboard 55 max

My system is able to boot up and do basic things like browsing the web or msn fine, just when i attempt gaming, about 30 minutes into play it will either freeze up or completely shut down, obviously an unstable overclock. So basically i wanted so form of suggestion from you guys as to what i can try to attempt to stabalise my overclock.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, my specs should be in my signature.

ok i did a thorough system scan and found nothing. then i did a google search about my problem and it appears that everytime my pc switched on it logs on to a temporary account. there isnt a simple solution to this really. do you think it would be better to re-install windows? will re installing windows force me to install all my programs again afterwards?

WINDOWS VISTA 32 BIT HOME

ok so about 3 hours ago i turned on my computer as normal and windows starts up with about half of my desktop icons there, a different background and and couple of programs removed such as windows live messenger.

i press start then click on the link on the right to go to my documents. EMPTY!

so i thought i would try a different route. so went to my computer>c-drive>users

there i found my normaldocuments inside a foldercalled HOME, then underneath was a folder called TEMP which is this newly created windows with half of my desktop items.

so basically i want everything back to normal so all my programs and links are where they should be.

and i also have no idea why this happened in the first place. im not sure if this is hardware or software related.

i am using AVAST antivirus

thanks in advance
