Hey there fellas, I was IN prison for about 2 years for assault. And for you people saying it's better than being homeless. Just because you know someone who had an easy ride doesn't mean it's always that way. I would know, that time was a wasted part of my life. I wasn't even human there. You've also gottenwound up in the argument of homeless vs. prison that you forgot about the actual subject of the topic. And to address that: No.

You'r enot human on the street either. You are treated like trash by others. At least in prison you're not soaking in week old body funk, thirstier and hungrier than you've ever been, sleeping in the cold, wet night. You're only speaking of your prison experience. I'm speaking from my homeless experience combined with what I've heard about prison. Homelessness is way worse.

I'm still wanting to hear about HOW you went from being homeless to not-homeless. Because you're claiming that once you're homeless, you can't better yourself and you've got nowhere left to go. Yet you WERE homeless and now you are NOT.
So I think that warrants further questioning. I don't doubt that being homeless sucked. But you're not homeless any more. YOU have personal experience here. HOW did you stop being homeless. How LONG did it take for you to stop being homeless? What happened? Please elaborate. I don't normally like to pry into people's personal lives, but you brought this up and it might be relevant to the discussion.
I didn't say you couldn't, I said chances are slim, and they are.I was fortunate that my mother felt like helping me out. Most dudes on the street have no support at all. I'm a rare case, and I'm very grateful for it.

I took a long bus ride to my parents house, they helped me out for a few months until I saved up enough money to get my own place. Been doing it on my own ever since.
