People have debated whether games should be considered art or not; I think the main problem is not the nature of games but the majority of people who call themselves "gamers": just skim through comment sections in gaming websites and you'd realize that they are a bunch neurotic bullies who have a twisted conception of humanity! It's hard to believe that these philistines could ever understand anything related to "art"!
@josh7845 @675T I wholeheartedly agree with your opinion but I think there should be room for people like Cage to show their different creative vision and succeed!
@josh7845 I think Half-Life 2 isn't a good example! That game was state-of-the-art at the time! Besides, I don't think everyone should have the same opinion on how to convey emotions in a game; we need diversity of artistic views to move the industry forward!
@jack00 @675T I was very skeptical myself, but after playing Heavy Rain, Walking Dead, and Journey I am convinced that you don't necessarily need complicated gameplay to make a great game.
@emptycow @BladeStrike1234 In L.A. Noire the detachment between detailed facial animation and crude body movement was jarring! Personally, I'd prefer a more homogeneous presentation (don't get me wrong; L.A. Noire is in my top ten list of best games of this generation).
