Of course those numbers are theoretical, but at the end of the day unless there is some compelling document that proves otherwise than the technical specs I have to rule it likely that there is a gap between the two systems in polygon count -- in favor of the Xbox.[QUOTE="SakusEnvoy"]

Those are theoretical ploygon counts that aren't representative of what they actually did. Especially since the ones you posted for Xbox are without textures applied, and the GC you posted are with Texture and effects. Using the theoretical numbers that you posted, the PS2 was more capable of pushing polygons then the GC, but you'd only have to look at how badly RE4 was butchered on the PS2 to realize that wasn't the case. The Xbox was more powerful, but because of the shaders and other newer technology it had added onto the GPU that the GC did not have, it couldn't push out as many polygons.

I'm citing everything... I'm using technical sheets, developer comments on each system's power, Gamespot/IGN comments... there's really no shortage of documents, interviews, quotes and anecdotes about the Xbox's power over the Gamecube.
Of course I've played Metroid Prime and Wind Waker and I know those games are very pretty. But comparing Xbox to Gamecube first party games on graphical prowess is really getting very subjective. Some people believe Xbox games like Riddick and Ninja Gaiden look better than not only everything on the Gamecube, but everything on the Wii. Others will say to their grave that RE4 was the height of graphical attainment last-gen. It becomes much more of an opinion when we start delving into that there.
But I think it speaks volumes that I can't find, or see any recorded info about a dev saying, in reference to a Gamecube game, "that's not possible on Xbox". But there are tons of Xbox games where devs say "that's not possible on Gamecube".
And yes, back to Cafe I suppose. :)
Here's where you're getting wrong though. In theory the Xbox can push more polygons, it is more powerful, I never denied that, but it wastes a lot fo that power on extra effects that he GC didn't add, like the newest shader model. So in the end, Xbox is capable of more effects more easily then the GC, like bump mapping and better lighting, but is not capable of putting as many polygons as a game like Rogue Squadron 3, which had more polygons then any other game in the generation.
As I said it has unnessesary power. The GCN had the biggest poly game, it also had arguable the best looking game (RE4) in the gen. Based on these 2 ALONE it is at least as good as the Xbox graphically, not power wise, graphic-wise. Let's get back on topic now.
