[QUOTE="7suarez7"][QUOTE="KC_Hokie"]It sounds like the next Nintendo will be a half step at best towards the next generation. That means it will limit itself to limited 3rd party support over the life of the console. It will get Xbox 360/PS3 ports then will get few next Xbox/PS4 ports (if any). KC_Hokie
Ah, I see. Can you also tell me when my gf gets pregnant so I can prepare before hand and make sure that doesn't happen. Thx.

Consoles caught between generations while trying to appeal to 'core' gamers don't do well. Based on the preliminary reports the next Nintendo is a half step at best towards the next generation.

So 6x PS3/360 isn't enough for "next gen"? The 360 was only 4x the original Xbox. If the rumoured specs are correct it will compete with 720/PS4 because 1. Microsoft will only release a year after Nintendo therefore not much power difference. 2. Sony will not go the route of the PS3 again and lose billions therefore weaker console. So, when will my gf get pregnant then?

[QUOTE="7suarez7"][QUOTE="Dibdibdobdobo"]

You guys assuming 1 Gig of Ram will suffice ?!

asking thequestion on the assumptions its right, not saying its right.

Inconsistancy
It's 4x that of 360 or PS3 (GPU). The CPU Ram is only 500 but it's extremely fast Ram, it's like having 2gb of slow Ram (360 or PS3 Ram).

Less ram is never like more ram. Also the 360/ps3 have 512mb ram, so 2x for 1gb and 3x for the rumored 1.5gb, not 4x at all, or in any way.

GPU RAM is 4x.

[QUOTE="7suarez7"] Winning a gen is usually about making the most profit. *facepalm* The Wii was always going to win because it offered something different to what the HD twins do, which is why they are still eating away at each others fanbase. Also, a lot of PS3's sales have come from the fact that it has a blue-ray player. Had Xbox 360 had one PS3 would cease to exist. The same thing happened last gen, which is why the GCN didn't sell as well as it should have. It was a beast console, but it didn't have a DVD player. Sad really.tormentos
Last gen the xbox also had DVD like the PS2 and cost the same and flopped hard. Yeah the PS3 was only bough for Blu-ray i my self buy it for Blu-Ray for blu-ray games..lol 147 million games sold last year,that is almost 3 games per PS3 dude.

Yes, which is why the Xbox flopped much harder than the GCN. The GCN had games, just no DVD player which was the holy grail back then. A lot of GCN's fanbase was eaten away from PS2/Xbox beucase they had DVD players. And almost 3 games per PS3 is hardly great is it? I have over 30 on my 360, over 25 on my Wii and I still have 20+ Gamecube games. Anyway, the PS3 does have some good games but a BIG reason people are buying it is for the blue ray player.

The cube was no match for the xbox and the xbox had the best looking games on console period.Rude_Bwoii
No. Most of Xbox's power was unnecessary and didn't help games look better.

sure it was. the gamecube had more advanced hareware than the xbox, it's just that the xbox had more ram, (but less advanced) and higher clockspeeds on the cpu (again, less advanced than the gecko cpu in the gamecube). the gpu's were very comparable however, and the xbox gpu had a higher clockspeed, and the gamecube's flipper gpu had higher bandwidth.and only one game comes to mind that was more impressive than anything on the gamecube, and that's conker live and reloaded. which, doesn't tell us much because RARE has always got the most out of consoles. if they stuck with developing for the gamecube I'm sure we'd have gotten something equally impressive.for graphics capabilities, gamecube = xbox > ps2.theuncharted34
This. People fail to understand that most of Xbox's power was not in it's graphics (GPU) but really unnecessary power. The Gamecube was good for games, graphics and nothing more.

^ As I said the Xbox had more horsepower but the GCN had other areas and it had little tricks within it. It was only the cheapest to develop because it had no DVD player and DVD players were the "holy grail" back then, they were VERY expensive.

[QUOTE="7suarez7"][QUOTE="bloodbrother87"]

If real than the system won't be that expensive. Folks are saying it would be expensive, but the tech listed in those specs is old hat. Its old tech, especially in terms of the GPU. And a non-expensive system would be very much Nintendo. Problem is, those specs are totally fake. And the newer faked spec sheet was created to fix the problems with the older one such as the watermark and the SDHC overshoot. The oldone was proven absolutely fake "1. The CPU is weak. It isnt able to play Wii Games. That will never happen 2. The RAM is pretty slow. Even 3DS is double so fast and got almost the same storage. So this is never gonna happen 3. Nintendo always uses Flash not HDD. So this is never gonna happen. 4. This is Final Spec Sheet of Nintendo and they dont know the name of the console and use a Microsoft Watermark? Come on 5. SD-HC cards does not have a maximum capacity of 64 GB, it's 32 GB"

bloodbrother87

So much wrong in that post. *facepalm*

Oh boy, I've been facepalming at all your idiotic posts. But let me explain it to you. If Project Cafe uses an R700 based GPU, that is the AMD 4000 series or GPU family, which is outdated at this point.

There has already been a 5000 series (Evergreen GPU family), a 6000 series (Northern Islands GPU family), and a 7000 series (Southern Islands GPU family) which is releasing this year. Next year (2012), there will be a 8000 series.

The Ram in that isn't cheap Ram, also do you know how expensive 32mb eDram is kid?
